Gun Wielding Assailant Killed

The BreakingNews.com headline actually reads, "Police Shoot, Kill Armed Man on S. Side" so they're actually getting closer to being accurate. Cops go home safe.
  • Chicago police shot and killed a man who pointed a gun at officers as he attempted to escape out a window of his home in the West Englewood neighborhood this evening, authorities said.

The police-involved shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. outdoors in the 6300 block of South Hermitage Avenue, said Independent Police Review Authority spokesman Mark Payne. Wentworth Area police detectives arrived at the home to arrest the man, who was "wanted on an investigative alert," when he attempted to escape through a window, police said in a news release.

As the man exited, he aimed a gun at officers, causing police to fire multiple shots at the man. The shots knocked him to the pavement below his window, the release said.
Good job officers and detectives.

Thank God All Our People Are Safe.

NOW OFF TOPIC BUT IMPORTANT!

If someone is recorded on a Federal wiretap, that has nothing to do with the criminal investigation involved, they must be informed.

If anyone of us are on that list that Jody just turned over, shouldn't we be informed.

Could there be errors, should there be old CRs on the list that should have been purged per the contract. Are retired, deceased officers on the list. What information is on the list, name, home address, Star number, DOB, social security numbers.

What the hell was just turned over to a rabid lawyer for a lawsuit that has nothing to do with almost all of us.

Jody and Mark, we demand to know.

Looks like property taxes will be raised AGAIN to pay for our shit schools... Luberman and michael scott (not of the paper giant Dunder Mifflin) said today that they are facing a $190 million defecit and the only way to address the issue is by raising taxes! We need to bring back George Washington and John Adams to give this shit ass city a civics lesson on what happens when you continue to raise taxes against the will of the people! Fuck these schools! They are a lost, hopeless cause! Why not do like they do in other, less corrupt places and let the people vote on this issue! Un fucking real... We can promise billions of dollars to back the "privately funded olympic bid" yet, when it comes to schools, the solution is RAISE TAXES! This is getting out of control!!!

Huberman says because the district and so many other agencies share the pension dilemma:

"This may be a good time to look at pension reform more globally, not a CPS pension reform, but one that will help the state, will help the city, will help us," Huberman said.

So not only does he want to jump on our pension, but he wants pension reform on behalf of the city???

Attn 08:58am, regarding soon-to-be former Officer Parker's DUI stops on tape, there is no one to blame except Parker himself. Watch the tape. The subject was willing and able to perform every test successfully. He even stood on one leg for over 40 seconds. Try getting a drunk to do that. He consented to the breath test. Now read the report and the officer's testimony in court: uncooperative, failed the field sobriety tests and refused the breath test.

This was clearly not a case of someone saying "HEY LET'S CATCH AN OFFICER DOING SOMETHING HE IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE DOING." The only one who caught Parker was Parker. He made the conscious effort on his own to lie on the paper and lie in court over and over and over again and deserves to go to jail for it. I know I speak for everyone in the traffic section when I say that we're glad his antics and his attitude have finally caught up to him. He is not and will not be missed.

It's the media's ignorant reporting of our policies that gives the public the idea that the police are doing something wrong.

Keeping them in the dark keeps the public ignorant of police policies and the law.

Most people don't understand a DUI arrest. The DUI copper had probable cause to make an arrest based on the arrestee's driving and the odor of alcohol. Whether or not there was still probable cause after the test is something for the court to decide. If you watch the tape carefully, the arrestee first says he had nothing to drink, then says he did have a glass of wine.

The statements on the copper's report regarding the test is something he'll have to explain. Did he hook up the brother? Probably.

BUT THE POINT IS THE ARRESTEE HAD BEEN DRINKING AND HE WAS DRIVING!

We also don't know how fast he was going or how reckless he was driving and all the POLICE on this blog are already stringing up their co-worker.

An Investigative Alert means a detective is seeking to interview someone that the dicks have not been able to find. If there is probable cause to arrest this person, he is arrested and the dick is notified. If there is no probable cause, then the person is asked for contact info and asked if he will voluntarily come to a police station. If he will, fine. If not, he goes about his way and the dick is notified about the contact.

There's no special secret to keep from anyone. If it's a secret then the media will always report an incident with the police in a negative light.

The Dicks were looking for someone they had probable cause to arrest. They found him. He pointed a gun at them. They shot him. End of story.

It's pointless to keep these things a secret. It only hurts police when they testify before juries who have been made ignorant by the ignorant media.

I am thinking the bully got exactly what he had coming. Not saying the scissor kid is a saint, but this may well be a case where the school knew about the bully and chose to take no action other than a bogus conflict resolution. there is no conflict when a bully is involved. it is strictly one way aggression.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/24-7/1473290,CST-NWS-skulstab12.article

High school student in 'conflict resolution' session stabs his bully

March 12, 2009

BY MAUDLYNE IHEJIRIKA AND ROSALIND ROSSI Staff Reporters
A 16-year-old charter high school student allegedly struck out against a classmate who had been bullying him Wednesday by stabbing the youth with a scissors in a school hallway.

The two boys were 16-year-old sophomores at the DuSable Leadership Academy of Betty Shabazz International Charter, housed within DuSable at 4934 S. Wabash.

"It was scary," said one student, Jonathan Sims.

Chicago Public Schools officials said the stabbing happened during a "conflict resolution" session -- in which the perpetrator and his father had come to meet with the dean of academics over how to address threats from the alleged bully.

CPS officials said the father and son had been meeting with school officials on the issue just before 9 a.m., when the son left the dean's office and encountered the alleged bully in the hallway.

The alleged perpetrator reportedly ran back into the office and grabbed a scissors from the dean's desk before the stabbing, officials said.

The youth was in serious condition Wednesday.

Did anyone happen to catch the "meeting of the minds" with Hubberman and Weiss? Seems too many CPS kids getting killed this year. Here's a novel Idea Jody........It might be too hard for you to wrap your Fed brain(cell) around.

If CPS Students dont want to get killed:

a.Stop selling drugs 24/7
b get out of the gang.

Gee can I be Superintendant now?
No wait I cant....I actually HAVE a functioning brain. Sorry. My bad.

It is actually refreshing to read a comment that makes so much sense, is well written, and makes an important point about keeping things secret.

A word to those that have stated that an Investigative Alert is equivilent to a warrant: Be careful you may step in doo-doo if you believe that.
