Remaining Silent
Probably the smartest thing she's done since being elected. Actually, probably the smartest thing she's done in her life:
- Six weeks after her drunken driving arrest on the Far North Side, Ald. Sharon Dixon (24th) refused to testify in court Monday at a Daley Center hearing where she sought to regain her driver's license.
Dixon, whose license was automatically suspended Jan. 21 when she declined to take a Breathalyzer test, was in court Monday attempting to overturn the suspension and briefly took the stand. Her attorney, Howard Frank, argued Dixon was improperly arrested.
"I decline to testify on the advice of my attorney," Dixon replied when a prosecutor asked if Jan. 20 was Inauguration Day.
A hearing on whether Dixon must testify is scheduled for April 16.
Mark your calendars. The alderdrunk hasn't pulled any fast ones yet, but she'll try to.

I love that the defense attorney must've put her on the stand to give her side and told her plead the 5th everytime the ASA asks you anything. Apparently she isn't completely stupid when sober.
There has never been a "Howard Frank" licensed to practice law in the history of the State of Illinois. Someone needs to tip off the ASA on this one.

Wat time and room is the court on 16 Apr. I would love to go watch and report accordingly.

why she need a license anyway? pay over 100k a year plus expenditures for other things. Hire a driver!! Burke & Daley can tell her the process to go through or maybe she can borrow one of their's on alternating shifts.
