Not a Chance
Several aldermen will announce a new effort Tuesday to expand the power of City Hall’s inspector general, calling for the removal of a long-standing prohibition against internal investigations of aldermen.
The measure also seeks to guarantee a much bigger budget for the inspector general and set up an independent panel to pick three finalists the mayor would be required to choose from for the job.
Ald. Joe Moore (49th) said he and several colleagues will hold a news conference Tuesday to push for the changes because of recent scandals in state and local government.
It'll be interesting to see on which side each of the aldercreatures votes and their reasoning behind it.

Any Alderman who votes against this should be selectively targeted by the FOP at election time. If we are subjected to micro scrutiny and put on public lists the Alderman better be subject to accountability.
We'll get this right after we get legit CPD promotions, term limits and a recall referendum mechanism in place for all elected city officials.

This why they're procuring land, leasing assets, raking in the monies asking city employees to take furlo days and laying off others by the thousands.

Accused DUI Alderman Sharon Dixon (24th ward) refused to testify in court yesterday during a hearing to get her driving priviliges restored. She claimed she was improperly arrested. The case is continued untill April.
Any time an Aldercreature is arrested they deem it improper. Everyone knows local LEO's aren' allowed to areest them. They are above the law. Just ask the alderthief who pushed the ordinance to prevent them from being probed !!!

This silliness barely even merits reporting because the only alderman I can see voting for this measure would be Moore, Schiller, Fioretti, Preckwinkle, Jackson, Ed Smith, and the rest of the liberal usual suspects. Anyone here remember Dennis Block? He got a lot of municipal legislation passed too., yeah right.

Announce a ward remap. We don't need this many alderman. Announce that in 3 years the redraw goes into effect and have a new election. This would save billions.

Shiller is a liberal? Once she signed on to Daley's crew, she has been anything but a liberal.
The mayor gets to pick who sits on the panel? What's the point then? That's like saying we're going to have a trial, and fill the jury with the defendant's convicted felon friends.

its a joke. no one can investigate aldercreatures?? thats a real assurance for them to do what ever they want and not look over their shoulders. if the aldercreatures aren't involved in corruption then they have no worries. if they are.......we'll see no investigative body for them and its business as usual in this city. think about that voters!!!!

Let's see how the phoniest batch of government official respond to this. This is a great opportunity for shortshanks, hire JFed to head up this investigative entity.
All are happy:
Department gets a new Supt, hopefully one who has our backs and is competent.
City Hall gets a puppet who will not be able to find his butt with 2 hands & a mirror and can arm the alderman with AR -15s & more PODs.
No convictions and less police = More money to spend on community activism and demorat votes.
Alls well that ends well.

Joe Moore didn't he back off ten large not long ago to promote a Sergeant? The middle man was a local real estate "mogul" with ties to the Serbian community.
2:25, that isn't Oconner's son with the lawsuits, that's his brother Daniel. It is also interesting to see how many city job;s his brother Robert has had and lost due to "strange" incidents.
I like the TIF ordinance some of them are pushing. Once we see the really b.s. behind the Daley TIF slush fund and where all the money is going maybe people will realize why there is no $$ for equipment.

When I worked in 23 Schiller was always defending the gang bangers and Cuban dope dealers she was not to worried about the average legit citizen. There were always strong rumours of her staff being very close to the Vice Lords.
They should investigate Alderman Colon and Ocasio and their connection with Bickerdike to build more (low income housing)
After reading some of your comments about low income housing in combination with Bickerdike is one of the greatest things ever happened to Chicago! Let me tell you that you are wrong! Low income housing is like a timing bomb about ready to explode! I really don’t know where you reside, but you also you mentioned that we are in the need’s of more subsidize housing in our community, well if you drive trough the some of highest crime areas in the 14th and 13 the district police you will find them, you may be able to smell scatted housing miles away, even better, if u are brave enough, just drive around during a hot summer day trough one of the areas called “the twill light zone”. But be careful because you may get caught in the middle of crossfire! And if you are not convinced yet, then go to the 3300 w Evergreen and 3300 w Crystal area. Couple years ago, used to be a nice and quite neighborhood , now they call it” The little Cabrini green” thanks to the riffraff’s residents of Hispanic Housing, That’s what we face on the daily bases ,nothing but real problems. Also you mentioned and praised Brickerdike for the great job they do, by running back round checks on the people seating on the housing list, well, let me tell you again and again “you are wrong” they are plenty present living residents who had been convicted of criminal charges, before they occupied the premises, It’s against lease rules, but Brickerdike do not care, they still went forward renting the units to these criminals !….Those are facts, and let me say this: Bickerdike and their management are nothing but bunch of liars ,they only care about their units being rented and pockets full of money. This low income housing is a political game and circus, BRICKERDIKE+ ELECTED OFFICIALS+ RESIDENTS = CA$H – CONTRIBUTIONS- FAVORS AND ELECTIONS.
