Warm Weekend

Here's where we might begin to see the "Year of Results"
  • Thursday
    63 - 46
Potentially the mildest day since a 65-degree reading on Nov. 6! Extensive cloudiness and noticeably warmer. Becoming fairly windy from south at 12-26 m.p.h. Increasing humidity lends a more spring-like feel to the air. Several sprinkles or brief light showers cannot be ruled out, especially in the afternoon. Cloudy, breezy, mild Thursday night. A few sprinkles or light rain showers possible.

    Friday
    62 - 42
A second day of 60s. Extensive cloudiness, perhaps a morning shower/t-storm. West winds shift east in the afternoon lowering temperatures.
Be careful out there. The last thing we need is Tommy Skilling's Crime Reduction Ribbon in jeopardy.

What CPD needs are the Supervisors and all the officers assigned to the Gang Unit be put back in the Districts so manpower can be more effectively deployed. We don't need them trying to help solve a crime and especially a gang shooting AFTER the incident. The Districts need prevention and direct support.

Put the manpower from Gangs, Mobile Strike Force and TRU back in the Districts. In one period you will see the difference.

quite a bit of shootings city wide already tonight. wonder if this is an indication of how the weekend will be?

as of 2345 hours below districts had a person shot:
004
008
010
011
014

no homicides as of yet.

anyone else notice the rise in shootings in 012 and 014? I think gentrification for those parts of town are way over.

Uh oh.

Chalkie is warmin up in the batter's cage!

"chalk fairies"

In most people's imagination, a chalk outline specifically refers to an outline of a murder victim's body, supposedly drawn by the police to aid future investigators after the corpse itself has been taken away to be examined. Although usually referred to as being drawn with chalk, the outline is often in fact paint or tape.

Was it actually ever done?

Commonly, when asked whether or not chalk outlines are ever drawn, police will either reply that it was never actually done, that it was just TV, or that it is not done any more. The reason usually given is that it could contaminate the crime scene by disturbing "trace evidence" - hair, blood specks, even sweat. In order to remember how it looked, the body is photographed and great care is taken not to move any significant objects around or from the scene.

This does not mean there has never been an instance of it. Newspaper photographs of crime scenes from the interwar period in America sometimes show chalk outlines. The rational here was that showing the actual body would be tasteless and obscene and so an outline would be drawn for the press' benefit once the investigation had been concluded. Nowadays, with a less shockable public and far greater importance placed on forensic evidence, the practice has largely died out. Exceptions may occur when an inexperienced police officer deals with a homicide and draws an outline; these officers have been referred to as "chalk fairies" since they rarely identify themselves.

Sorry, but if that were to occur, you would just have a bunch of salty malcontents who wouldn't do anything in protest, and believe basic district law enforcement was beneath them, thus solving nothing.

It's pretty easy to figure out! As soon as it is warm enough, the cockroaches swarm. The more there are out and about, the more targets there are! Mid december is too cold for a wimpy ass gangbanger to shoot his enemy. He wait till it be warm enough to go ouside and see his peoples.
