Hahahahaha

  • Up to 10,000 convicted criminals could soon be released early from prisons across Illinois. It's all because of the state's budget mess. Gov. Pat Quinn says cutting those prisoners loose could save more than $100 million. But at what cost to you?

[...] The proposed prisoner release stems from plans to lay off more than 1,000 corrections workers at Stateville Prison and a half-dozen facilities downstate.

The state's making a list of thousands of so-called non-violent inmates with less than one year left to serve who could be released early. The governor says it could save taxpayers $125 million.
Quinn is accused of playing scare tactics to drum up support for his income tax hike. We also hope he's playing chicken with an electorate sick and tired of molly-coddling criminals who are serving tiny portions of prison sentences and then being re-launched upon society to pillage without fear of repercussions. Some law and order types could benefit from this. Republican law and order types - if they exist any more.

OT: Clout list for U of I law school applicants admitted by direct command from ex-Gov Blago got 2 (TWO) family member (daughters?) admitted.

from Tribune:

"Both are relatives of prominent attorney Kerry Peck, who, along with his law firm, donated more than $120,000 to Blagojevich's campaign fund. The older sibling had letters of recommendation in her application file from Blagojevich, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, Sen. Dick Durbin, Rep. Jan Schakowsky and Cook County State's Atty. Dick Devine -- all of whom received campaign donations from Peck in the preceding years.

The older sibling, who has since passed the bar, could not be reached for comment. She works as a Cook County prosecutor. Peck, who has repeatedly refused Tribune interview requests, provided a brief statement.

"I am very proud of my family and their substantial accomplishments!" wrote Peck, former president of the Chicago Bar Association and managing partner of Peck Bloom LLC."
---

Oh yeah, he is quite proud. Anyone know where the Peck child is working in the CCSA Office? No doubt she got that job because she was, what, the best qualified? Another Cook County States Attorney job goes to daddy's little girl. hey, it's only government work and even dumb retarded lawyers got to earn a living.

With a record like that the little lady lawyer could go on to great things, alderman, attorney general, mayor.

Ain't it grand the way it works here?

Thanks Mr. Peck for foisting your sub-standard retarded children on a public payroll already swollen to the breaking point with clout kids.

The law firm of daddy once again is Peck Bloom LLC.

For more information, please contact them at the information listed below.

Phone: 312-201-0900
Fax: 312-201-0803
E-mail: info@peckbloom.com

Their office is located in the historic Clark-Adams Building in Chicago's Loop.
The building entrance is 210 South Clark Street. Mail should be directed to 105 West Adams Street, 31st Floor, Chicago, IL 60603

The message for those of us without clout who are parents of bright kids working hard to get through school is DO NOT send your children to U of I, especially the law school.

Another ex CPD boss doing a bang up job at the Federal Protective Service:

The GAO's full report is not expected until September. Among the initial findings:

* In one region, the agency has not provided the required eight hours of X-ray or magnetometer training to its 1,500 guards since 2004.

* In another region, 62% of contract guards had expired certifications in at least one of the following areas: weapons, CPR, first aid and baton use.

* At one high-security facility, an armed guard was found asleep at his post after taking the painkiller Percocet.

* In one major city, an improperly trained guard sent an infant in a carrier through an X-ray machine.

* A guard who was supposed to be standing watch was caught using government computers to further his for-profit adult website.

* A guard failed to recognize or did not properly X-ray a box containing handguns at the loading dock of a facility.

Gary Schenkel, director of the Federal Protective Service, accepted responsibility for the findings but noted challenges his agency had experienced since he arrived in 2007, including budget constraints.

It really is time for a change. Politicians out! Put some business men/women in for a term or two. See how to run government offices. This bloated friends and family budget is killing the taxpayers.

I'm not interested in their views on gay marriage or abortion. None of that means a lick if they can't work within a budget and keep the stealing down. Smoke and mirrors, that's all the 'hot topic' nonsense is.

I assure you SCC, those law-and-order Republican types are here, they do exist, and they are around (in Edison Park, at least). I've noticed liberal infiltration, but it's not too terrible yet.

The problem with releasing prisoners is us citizens don't have a right to have the tools to properly shoot them when they break into our homes. We also don't have any Castle Doctrine or Make My Day laws to protect us legally should we have a confrontation, nor do we have CCW to protect us out in public. I'm all for letting those assholes go..but I want the ability to defend myself the same way you guys do. I'll pay for a license (if it's reasonable), I'll take training courses (although I've already taken several), I'll get a CCW permit (already have a non-resident one for PA)..but for chrissakes, give us SOMETHING.

Releasing 10,000 convicts creates fear. Pretty much assume none of them coming out of the joint have marketable skills. Especially in this economy.

Politicians such as Quinn are setting us up. 10,000 unemployed convicts released upon society means drastic increase in two things: Crime and fear.

The politicians will use fear to change our Constitution. Watch for motions to change or remove amendments; especially the 1st and 2nd amendments

Unless a number of prison guards and prison administrators are also terminated, seems that the only tangible savings by releasing prisoners early is the related cost-savings in food, material, and other purchased goods.

Same issue w/Cook County Jail - if number of prisoners is significantly down, where are the cost-savings to the taxpayers?

Hey fuck-head how about cutting back in some of these politician expenditure or what about the TIF money, that is being used to build more bullshit (low income housing projects) which we don't need! Like the ZAPATA project on Armitage that the GREEDEE ASS-WIPES from Brickerdike wants to build for 70 million dollars, on the taxpayer expense, after the Alder-creature Ray Colon gave them the zoning change and just waiting for more stimulus money from Obama to start breaking ground.
What about cutting all the funds from CEASEFIRE which is nothing but bunch of ACTIVE, SAVAGES GANG-BANGERS camouflaged into the next great city Alderman’s.
What about some of the laziest Secretary State office employees that don't do a thing, besides staring at their 5 dollar nail job all day long, making sure that the ( Cheetos) cheese did not get under the nails or their nails did not break while getting the( grape pop) can open during break, which they take every five minutes, which is not need for it because they are bullshitting with each other when is people waiting in line . I'm not sure if this was suppossed to be sarcasm, sardonic wit, or just stupidity.

Your an idiot and I am armed. Good luck with your suit and tie, unemployed sorry poo-butt thinks Stateville is Harvard, reading books from 8 to 20 years ago, and comparing your expansive vocabulary against your fellow convicts as proof you are intelligent, self. (That would be a gerundive laden complex sentence, think Jesse Jackson and you'll get that right on your GED)

Let me give you a hint: the smart guys went to college, stole millions, when they bellyed up, they got bailed out by Obama, and if they did ever do something that got their sorry butts jammed up, they didn't have public defenders, and if they didn't avoid indictments, they spent a couple of years in Minn or Wisconsin, no picnic, but not Joliet.

You have one thing right though, in Cook county you don't stand a cold chance in Hades of being convicted.

I think that's the same philosophy used by the 019 Dist. Watch commanders and lockup. If you lock someone up there they let them out within 2 hours. Some punishment!

7/09/2009 06:55:00 AM
_____________________________

Would that be to punish the drinkers or pissers? How about the guys riding their bicycles on the sidewalk? Or is it to punish the mildly retarded? Oh wait.. that's a "quality of life" arrest.. sorry. The daily CTA urinators? Maybe it's to punish that guy yesterday that wasn't caught drinking, but was walking while intoxicated? You couldn't get him on DOPW so you charged him with DC. What about the countless piss bums panhandling in prohibited locations? Or is it to punish the bird sanctuary guys getting locked up by operation "Oscar Mayer" covert operatives hiding in the bushes?

Bring in something worth punishing and the watch commanders might not laugh at you. Do you think the bosses in 019 really support this shit? They know all this silliness will get tossed in court, so why make work for his people? Why fill the lockup with people who will never change no matter how long you lock them up? It's a waste of time, money and increases their liability, and the watch commanders know it. And for the record they are bonded when the rap sheet comes back, the WC approves the release and the desk crew writes the bond. If that's in 2 hours, so be it. No one goes out of their way to bond out the prisoners there. And if they are jaggoffs they will sit for a few watches.

The state releasing prisoners is no comparison. They are convicted, the prisoners in the lockup are not... but you already knew that... you complain because you know the only jail time they will see is the 2 hours in lockup. Perhaps you should blame yourself for not making arrests that will stick. Instead you complain about what 019 does, yet still make the easiest arrests just so you can wear jeans, drive CD and leave early after you get your heads for the day. Your philosophy is no better.

We should bill the prisoners for their incarceration. Lets contract them out to work, collect their salaries then charge them a daily rate plus food and medical care.
They can learn a job skill and keep a % of the wages in a prison bank where other prisoners can work and learn skills. Then when they get out they have a skill and a couple of bucks.

Have the prisons make a profit.

Put all of them to work making all of those cheap gadgets for sale at Wal-Mart and pay Chinese wages; then deduct for food, clothing, shelter and security costs.

OR Plan B

Have a bulldozer dig a very large hole behind each prison. March out the worst of the worst every day. One bullet in the head each then cover the hole. Repeat until there is no more budget problem or we run out of prisoners.

If we run out of bullets, ask for donations or use an ax, or skip that step and just bury them alive.
