The Daily Herald rewrites a Sun Times headline and article and makes it sound a bit better.

We like the Herald version better. It makes us feel like the police deserve a large raise - something on par with what the aldercreatures voted themselves (6%) for our efforts.

So warm weather is the cause of violence in this city. Shouldn't we be trying to get the winter Olympics instead then? I'm just saying.
If he wants our support for the Olympics, the Mayor should let us determine our own salary the way the City Council does!!!
Honestly speaking, if we hit a long, hot-stretch in August be prepared for civil unrest.

Speaking of the press. Interesting that Mary Mitchell writes a column on the Burr Oak cemetery vandalism and not once does she comment that the offenders were all black. You better believe if they had been white she would have needed another half page to do one of her famous race rants.

I can't stand her, but, it would seem that all of the news media are skewed when it comes to stuff like this. Most violent crime, where the offender is not caught and is in a predominantly black area, features a VERY vague description. Male, 20's, wearing (insert clothes here), average height and build...NO MENTION anywhere of the race of the offender ! When a white or hispanic subject goes on a crime spree, you better believe that they are noted as such.
Civil unrest is inevitable.Living on the north or southwest side will not keep you safe.The savage will come to you ,shooting indiscriminately at your children and anyone else on the street.Any citizen who does not arm himself is a fool. No one can help you but yourself...unless you trust the midget to protect you.
