Here is a solid for all you out there, no contract until October when the IOC deetermines if the Chicago will get the nod. If we get the olympics the city will knock out a contract for us quickly. If we dont, the city will play hard ball to elimante the retro and limit pay increases. This has already been worked out. It is widely known by all the individuals involved in the negotiations. I hate to say it but if we want a retro check and pay increase of 12% over 5 years we will need to get the olympics. Othewise, you can kiss away any chance of backpay.

At 0345hrs today, a Zone 13 Dispatcher went over the air and announced that for the 4th of July, the City had 29 people shot and 2 people dead from gunshot wounds. She further added that one guy was shot in the foot and "does that count???" Not bad for one 24 hour period.....
Fuck Shanks! He is putting naive innocent people at risk by suppressing the truth about the taste. Suburban in-laws were regaling me with tales of the beast charging in packs. Worked special last week and the coppers there were great, the c.o. a female Sergeant was there and so knowledgeable and competent. Then I talked to an "old timer" seems that the Sgt. was filling in and everything was running fine, the copper said "It is nice to have a confident supervisor that everyone respects"! Why do they waste a Lieutenant there? The city is short citywide Lt,maybe a district could use her?

003 blew up like a stick of dynamite last night. Just after confirmed Double Homicide between four savages resulting in apprehension of one Offender, at least three more shot in separate incident that resulted with RO's exchangeing fire with and apprehending another. Great job by all Units in catching multiple Offenders, recovering several firearms, and handleing of all crime scenes. (You can knock 003 all you want, but not it's First Watch PO's/Supervisors.)
More than any "adjusted" stats they put out, it's dealing with this shit (doing our job) that makes us deserving of a fair raise.

What was the number shot or stabbed and the number of fatalities? There were 5 shot on Polk in 011 and assorted others showing up at Mt. Sinai and "St Rogers"...It looked like you needed to take a number to get help. I guess they were trying to rush 7 to surgery at MSH at once!!! Very interesting...Perhaps July will make up for the lagging numbers in June...

While reading CLTV this morning I counted 8 murders since friday, dont know about persons shot. Only one murder had a legit victim and that was in 009, which offender was arrested and charged.

Oh stop it Jimmy, JFED and the original fantastic four (JJ,BC,SP,PB) will all be gone soon and will go down as having been the worst and most embarrasing exempts in the history of Chicago Police Department. Even Phat Phil and M Maher weren't as blatent manipulating statistics and lying to the public as you all. Crime is down in 24 out of 25 districts my ass! Media also reported that Aggravated Assaults are down city wide! How about releasing the aggravated batteries with handguns (shootings) to the public. Why are those figures kept quiet? People don't care how many assualts (mostly verbal threats) are made. They want to know how many people got shot (agg. batteries). Since the department won't release these stats. How about the media doing a little research and contacting all the hospitals in Chicago and coming up with a total number of people who have come in with gun shot wounds and homicides.
Also, why did JFED lock us out of the daily or should I say "Daley" crime statistical report that everyone had access to on the Intranet? I thought you wanted to be more "transparent"? Why can't commanders or watch captains have access to crime stats in there districts everyday? Why do they have to wait for a 6 month "updated" & "reclassified" report from your office? Funny how crime was on the rise until you locked everyone out of the daily (Daley) crime report except for your deputy superintendents.
10 murders in the city between noon on 04 Jul and noon on 05 Jul. The pace is picking up boys and girls, be ready!

Unless you've ever worked for Jackson you don't know. He was a hell of a boss when he was the Commander of 011 and you would be very hard pressed to find anyone that worked for him to disagree. He got offered the position he's in now at a shitty time and his abilities as a leader are wasted while having to work with the pussy Weis.

CHICAGO (STNG) -- A man in his 80s accidentally shot his elderly wife and niece Sunday afternoon in the South Side’s Hamilton Park community.
A out-of-town man in his 80s was playing with a gun in the 6600 block of South Harvard Avenue when the weapon accidentally discharged about 2:10 p.m., police said.
The bullet when through his wife’s leg and then struck his niece, police said.
The wife, in her 70s, and the niece, in her 50s, were both taken to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center in good condition, police said.
Wentworth Area detectives determined the shooting is accidental and no charges are expected.

I was reading some of the other comments about the number of people shot and it reminded me of the daily reports from the Iraqi war, and something occurred to me: there is no mention of the Iraqi war in the media anymore. As if the war ended when the messiah was elected. No daily body counts, no fallen soldier's family grieving on tv, no mention of the money being spent.
And another thing occurred to me: no mention of rising gas prices. No complaints about big oil, no mention of billion dollar profits, no one on tv asking what the president is doing about it.
According to the media everything is just dandy.

Don't put Jimmy Jackson in the same category as the rest of the "Dream team". He is and always has been down-to-earth and a gentleman. He is one of the few bosses who actually worked the street in a busy District. While the rest of them are a sad joke, Jimmy never forgets to say Hi, shake your hand, and spend a minute with you.
