Tuesday night headlines:
A 52-year-old Bellwood man was fatally shot and another man wounded during an argument on a Humboldt Park street Tuesday night, police said.
The suspected gunman was in police custody, officials said.
Two males were shot and wounded tonight in an apparent drive-by shooting on Chicago's Southwest Side.
The victims were wounded by someone from within a dark-colored sport-utility vehicle in the 4600 block of South Mozart Avenue in the Brighton Park neighborhood just after 7 p.m., police said.
August is shaping up to blow the doors off of July's numbers. How many commanders will lose their jobs this month?

Hey penny a homicide and a person shot while you were on the street tonight. Guess the people who live in 011 didn't get the message that you are the new blood that is gonna stop shootings in 011. At this pace u should get dumped in about 4 weeks. Or just promoted.
Changing Commanders will do nothing to solve crime, at least with the choices they are currently making lately. Multiple merit promoted "career house cats" have no idea how to be the Police much less lead them in fighting crime.
Get rid of J-Fed. He's not the police and has no idea how to be the police. All the clout babies he surrounds himself with are totally clueless.
We need another Burger Queen like we need a hole in the head, yet Fillmore got one to further muck up the works. She has trouble determining the boundaries of her "command". Hi, it's me. The beat cop. I have just one request. It is apparently a HUGE request, but I know you won't let me down.
Please, please please know where I am. I am driving a pool car with no PDT. I know you are by yourself sometimes. So am I, as it turns out. I know you have bad days. I know you probably have better things to do, but please just make an effort to know where I am.
The other day I was put down on a generic on a street that didn't exist after you didn't put me down on that alderman complaint that I advised you of. That same day, you put me at a lunch location SIXTY blocks off.
Also, recently, on a PDT less day, I was admonished by a supervisor because you failed to code my job and listen to my acknowledgement of the next one.
We all have a lot going on, but keep this in mind. The day that I am yelling for help and you are unaware of my whereabouts (which could never ever happen because of GPS) and you have to ask me where I am, is the day you let down me or my coworker. You are supposed to be a tool for us to do our job.
We don't care about your board, and honestly, we do everything we can to help you out of your backlog.
If you didn't hear me, ask me to repeat my transmission. However, please don't make up addresses to suit your board. We can all wait to be assigned a job while you take a moment to place us at the correct location.
It's nothing personal, just a major officer safety concern.

An off duty CPD was at chicago ridge mall and decided to go for a ride on the merry-go-round (for children)....when the ride attendant stopped the ride because of some rowdy children this asshat lifted his shirt and showed his gun to the attendant and said "Want me to take care of em?"....So you are riding a merry-go-round in the mall and have no children with you and you decide to show your firearm????? And don't even state your the police????
Well the ride attendant was so freaked out by this asshats actions he called the chicago ridge police.
Chicago ridge police respond and when seeing this asshat walking in the mall with an obvious buldge in his side they took action. Well the off duty CPD started screaming and yelling "Im a chicago cop"!! he was taken into custody and after changing "his" version of the story 3 times the Chicago Ridge Police did an information report and let this sorry piece of shit go without incident.
Well this piece of work has been heard around the traffic court section on how "Chicago Ridge cops are assholes and we should hammer every one of them if they are stopped in Chicago blah blah blah".....and there is talk about how this piece of shit is going to sue the Chicago Ridge Police Dept and all officer's involved!

I have to say that's fucking sad. What a pathetic salute to a fallen police officer. Five minutes of practice in front of the mirror before the funeral could of fixed that sorry ass salute. I dont think its a lot to ask from the bosses on the police department to know how to properly salute at the funeral of one of their own who died in the line of duty.
Wait till the PO's in 011 get to see Penny in action! By this I mean:
1)bringing a ruler to roll call to check hair length. Did this in 007 until a PO told her he'd get a battery report if she touched him again.
2)doing inspection and writing people up for anything--all the while doing inspection without her gun, star or nametag
3)making PO's do a to/from if late for any reason. Leading by example because Penny was 30-45 minutes late EVERYDAY she was in 007
4)wait for OT to be cut down. Penny hated OT no matter how good the arrest.
5)Penny once told a PO that even though they had a picture and ran warrants from their beat, a warrant is not probable cause to arrest. It was a violation of rights to see someone with a warrant and just grab them
Remember, Penny worked inside for 16 of her years on the job. Very obsessed with her power-would make first watch wait till she walked by for roll call before they could ENTER the building. Good luck to the fine PO's in 011. I feel for all of you

All those "traffic unit" guys got screws loose. I think people that write movers all day long and bring misery to 10-20 working people a day need to take a look in the mirror. Did you really join the CPD to do this? Why don't you just go out to the suburbs where there's nothing to do so you can go fill your quota somewhere else. We all know you guys are just chicken shits and scared to be the real police and work a beat car.

Some cop going to purchase a house in Edison Park and have section 8 animals walking into The Isle, its already happening. 022 is already in grasp of the ghetto. 103rd, 107th, 111th and 115th are all ghetto highways. I'm commenting on the "Bounty Hunter" who was DETAINED in the Chicago Ridge Mall for flashing his gun.
I have over the course of my career in the suburbs where I work had MANY off duty encounters with Chicago Police Offcers. From CPD cops who had to much to drink acting like fools to CPD cops flashing their firearms where they shouldnt have. I extended professional courtesy in all my run ins !! On the flip side I had CPD Officers extend professional courtesy to me while I was off duty. My contacts if you havent guessed it have included suburban and out of state cops including a Highway Patrol Officer from Wisconsin. Every Illinois cops dream stop!!! (NO I didnt write him). When all was said and done I bent over backwards to give breaks and keep even the most beligerant drunken assholes from getting in trouble or worse locked up. This incident is spreading like wild fire throughout the suburbs. The main issue at hand other than this Off Duty Officers poor judgement is the bounty on the heads of Chicago Ridge Officers. You gotta be F-ing kidding me !!! This particular CPD Officer sounds like the typical asshole cop that took the job just to fill a uniform and stuff a piece in his pants to impress his old lady. From what I'm gathering this CRPD Officer did what anyone of us would have done. Including give this beligerant jagoff a break. Every Chicago Police Officer reading this post do yourself a favor before you jump on the Bounty Hunters band wagon. Get the facts before you go out hammering the Chicago Ridge Officers and for that matter cops from the suburbs. Bounty Hunters gotta play up the story so he could get a quick pay check from the Village of Chicago Ridge. Unfortunatley theres not much anyone could do to stop that from happening because its obvious this prick has his sights set on money.
And to the BOUNTY HUTER !! My family and I go to that mall all the time. Actually now that I think about it my sons ridden on that same ride your F---ing pathetic ass was riding on. Now if you havent guessed it I carry my pistol off duty along with my BADGE.. I am a chicago police officer and i cant even stand how some of these idiot coppers act off duty. now dont get me wrong, not every cpd officer is a complete jag off duty and an asshole when they get stopped.. however, there are those that think they are above other officers and that it is an inconvienince getting stopped.. Thanks officer, many of us feel the same way as you. With over 10 thousand officers, there are going to be clowns like the goof that make us all look bad. I tip my hat to Chicago Ridge for their patience with this num nut.
It is strange though, every district I've been in, the "traffic nazi's" are usually a little off or weirdos. Before everyone filps out, I didn't say all traffic officers either.
An off duty CPD was at chicago ridge mall and decided to go for a ride on the merry-go-round (for children)....when the ride attendant stopped the ride because of some rowdy children this asshat lifted his shirt and showed his gun to the attendant and said "Want me to take care of em?"....So you are riding a merry-go-round in the mall and have no children with you and you decide to show your firearm????? And don't even state your the police????
Well the ride attendant was so freaked out by this asshats actions he called the chicago ridge police.
Chicago ridge police respond and when seeing this asshat walking in the mall with an obvious buldge in his side they took action. Well the off duty CPD started screaming and yelling "Im a chicago cop"!! he was taken into custody and after changing "his" version of the story 3 times the Chicago Ridge Police did an information report and let this sorry piece of shit go without incident.
Well this piece of work has been heard around the traffic court section on how "Chicago Ridge cops are assholes and we should hammer every one of them if they are stopped in Chicago blah blah blah".....and there is talk about how this piece of shit is going to sue the Chicago Ridge Police Dept and all officer's involved!
So listen W.S. (Traffic Unit) Metal plate in your head or not...you allready have a screw loose and if you want to ride the merry-go-round then thats your decision.....but don't make fools of the CPD by acting like an asshole...and be THANKFUL that your ass wasn't locked up!

I came on the job with this mush. He should have never passed the psych. He has been bounced several times. Just ask him about handcuffing the nurse in the hospital in a supply closet or bringing his girlfriend into the lockup for lunch

I was at Chicago Ridge Mall the day that guy with the gun was detained by the police. As a matter of fact, I was the one that alerted mall security after what I observed to be a "pervert riding the Merry-Go-Round looking at the little kids while rubbing his side/crotch area". This is exactly how I reported it to security. I even provided my information to the arriving Chicago Ridge Police officers after I learned he was carrying a gun in case they needed me when the case went to court. This is the first I've heard that he is an officer with Chicago PD. How disgusting. I witnessed first-hand the actions of this creep; I'll have NO PROBLEM testifying in open court as to what I saw that day: A shoddily dressed, full-grown man who looked to be under the influence of alcohol/drugs or both. As he rode the Merry -Go-Round (The only adult riding WITHOUT any kids with/near him) he repeatedly reached into his groin/crotch/side areas while smiling and closing his eyes. After seeing this I immediately notified security. They called the police department, who arrived quickly. The officer who approached this weirdo demanded he stop walking away. The creep didn't immediatley listen to the officer's instructions, instead continuing to walk away. I overheard the officer say "He's got a gun!" before detaining him. At that time, the creep threw himself on the ground yelling something slurred and incoherent.
It's totally amazing and sick and disgusting to find out that the drunken weirdo touching himself on a kid's ride at a mall turned out to be an officer of the law. Not to mention having a gun with him! I hope the mall took my lawyer-husband's advice that day and saved all the security video coverage of the entire incident. About the Capt Saluting...Capt. Penelope Trahanas...Don't know her, never met her, heard and read about her, but what i have to say is,
Ever had someone walk up to you with a six inch lens on a camera during a solemn event and stand in front of you in your space and take photos of you and try and keep your head in the moment, its so obvious that she is lifting her arm and turned slightly to the right to see what this photographer taking the picture is doing while maintaining a salute in a situation that necessitates some degree of decorum.
She may be clouted, she may suck or be the greatest Capt in the CPD, but what you are looking at is someone having their salute for a fallen officer disrupted.
That's my take on things. Laugh at how she looks in the photo, but realize you are laughing at someone who had a member of the media in their face who disrupted an event's solemnity with their intrusion.
And before you go off and think that I am shilling for Capt. Trahanas...I really don't know her at all...don't care if she looks like a sloven idiot,,,but come on.
How many photos or news reports have we seen of coppers standing at a crime scene smiling ? They always look bad, but are really just two officers talking about something unrelated to the crime,
