But police brass decided not to close the investigation after speaking with friends and family, all of which had serious concerns that Scott -- a man with seemingly few troubles and no outward signs of distress -- wouldn't have killed himself.
Police note that no suicide note was found on Scott's person or at his home. They're in the process of searching his Blackberry, the Sun-Times says.

The Ike Carrothers indictment is going in alot of different directions.

It's been reported Chicago School Board President Michael Scott, whose body was found in the Chicago River Monday morning, did NOT leave a suicide note.
Well, how about a suicide text message?
• To wit: Scott's body was found not far from his cell phone/BlackBerry, which was left on a nearby ledge ... not in his car, which was parked yards away.
• Hmmm: Did Scott make a call or text a farewell message before he died? Is this a question police asked Scott's widow, Diane, whom they were scheduled to talk to Tuesday?
• A strange note: Why did the initial police report claim Scott had been missing a few days -- if he had visited his sister at her nursing home Sunday night? (Scott's body was found in the wee hours Monday morning.)
• A strange location: Sneed often drives next to the upright/ crumbling concrete bridge, which looks like an angry tooth waiting to be pulled, where Scott's body was found. It's an ugly place and not known by many -- unless you use the riverbank parking ramp at the Apparel Center or are a member of the nearby East Bank Club. Interestingly, Scott was not a member of the club.
• A business note: Sneed hears Scott, a highly successful businessman, was excited about a new "green" project he was hoping to finance involving wind turbines in Lake Calumet and Lake Michigan ... and was enthusiastic while talking about it recently to a number of Sneed sources.
Sounds like even Sneed thinks this was a hit, doesn't it?
For a memorable dining experience while visiting Chicago, I always dine at Edna's, 3175 W. Madison St. Superb ambience, fascinating people and the movers and shakers.
Chitlins, collards greens, black-eyed peas and a peach cobbler to die for. Be advised to wear a tastefully tailored kevlar vest.
I only hope the US Attorney already has knowledge of this and someone was wearing a wire and caught any/all illegal conversation that took place.

Just read that Scott charged 3K on his CPS company credit card for a trip to Copenhagen for the "Daleympics." Daley's crew did not cover his costs but in the article, spokesperson states that "he was paying it back in installments." 3K and he can't just write a check? Sounds like serious money problems to me. Financial pressure and federal subpoenas make people do desperate things. Daley really is Whitey Bulger and this "will" go away!

The cell phone was found right where the fire dept personnel left it after they removed it from Scott's pocket. They went looking for ID and then dropped the stuff. Not the first time CFD moved a body and then dropped everything when they see a bullet hole.

Most life insurances have a two (2) year exclusion for claims on suicide. If someone buys a policy and waits at least two (2) years to commit suicide (most don't plan that far out), the insurance company would pay the claim.
