Today I was consumed with thoughts and ongoing concerns for my beloved nephew Jesse Murphree who turned 21 in Walter Reed as a double amputee after being blown up by an I.E.D. in Afganistan 2 days after Christmas 07. After visiting him and his fellow wounded warriors I can say that there are injuries and recoveries so tough, that are more of a life struggle than any full duty sworn Cpd officer will ever know...so just for today, just for a few minutes in the comfort of your own home, drop down on your knees and thank God for your intact body. And then pray for our wounded vets to have the God given strength to carry on, to not give up on life, and reward them for the sacrifices, and show them mercy and joy in their daily lives. Oh, yes and beyond this prayer, please teach your children to acknowlege a Veteran by thanking them for their service...it really does mean alot. Thanks to all Veterans of foreign Wars for your brave service.
I honor all our vets today and they're service,my question is how did Shortshanks Jr get out SO FAST and just literally fall off of the face of the earth. I know he's in Russia, but how did he get out without a hassle. Does it take a freedom of Information Act to open up his military file and have it published? When his father turns OUR situation personnel,he should expect it in return!!!!
God Bless the Veteran that raised me and taught me the meaning of Respect and Loyalty. That is Loyalty every day under every circumstance. It means being Loyal in the face of Derision by others. God Bless the Veterans that taught me how to be the Police and taught me the meaning of Brotherhood, and Courage under Scorn, and Grace under Fire. I Honor YOU on this day.
Thankyou doens't seem fitting enough. There is a sign the CPD put up that says, "earned not given". Everyone of you have earned my respect by the sacrifices you are willing to give.
For those who may read this blog who just don't get it, watch the movie "Taking Chance", see what that 20yr old kid gave up and see the respect that was shown...
Doesn't anyone fly the flag anymore? My flag was the only one out in at least a three block radius that I could see from my front porch. And I'm in 016. It's really a disgrace how fast we forget.
Unfortuneately Vetereans Day and Memorial Day are only 2 days out of the year. "For those that have fought for it....... freedom has a flavor the protedted will never know..." Semper Fidelis
Was a time the majority of the cops were veterans. When I came on WWII and Korean vets still working. Then we went thru a period of Vietnam vets. Seems were only getting a trickle of the current wars veterans. Anyone know how many Vietnam vets are left?
ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN on this job who served in the past (revolver guys) and my generation of younger guys coming back from the middle east (including persian gulf from 90's) are our glue holding the seams together in the CPD in my opinion. I'm not even military. I have a couple of uncles and great uncles who served though. I believe the future of this department would be royally fucked without these brave people in the patrol division and elsewhere. These guys have the chance to be my future sgt's and lt's and capt's. Thank God! Can you imagine how this JOB would be without them? With most of these idiots coming out of the Academy and hair gel company kids? BTW, Real men wear pomade like our Dad's did not gel- toolbags. These company men being my supervisors!? OMG! Especially the state of affairs the FTO is in! That's the only chance to teach these kids the right and safe way of doing this job.
