Hire Dumber Investigators
Investigators hired to probe the surging number of allegations of excessive force against Chicago Police officers are too educated to relate to those involved in the shootings, a South Side alderman warned Monday.
Ald. Freddrenna Lyle (6th) put the Independent Police Review Authority on notice about its hiring practices as the agency prepared to launch a study to determine the root cause of the 19 percent increase in complaints, most of them since March.
“Hiring people with advanced degrees is a wonderful thing in terms of their intellect and being able to determine what the legalities . . . are. But, out on those streets you’re talking to lay people,” Lyle said.
And people wonder why we would really like to see this idiot out looking for a real job along with 24 of her ilk?

Even if its possible to overturn them on appeal, who needs the hassle. And some that are sustained are bound to stick just so they can "save face" by not having to reverse all of their findings.

I just read her Bio and it says that she is a lawyer with 18 years experience. That means she attended and gratuated from high school, college, and then some to get a HS diploma, BS or BA degree and then a JD. Thats rather educated! Therefore, using her logic on IPRA investigators, she has no understanding of the needs of her constituants since she is so educated. Do any of these aldermen think about what they say before they say it? (rhetorical question)

No, it isn't. Most of the last group of new hires were ex-CPD or other law enforcement. There were a couple of lawyers but far from all. Your source is incorrect.
I guess when most of the people you represent spend their day watching Judge Judy and Maury, you don't have to worry about your words appearing in the newspapers. I know that I wouldn't be voting for my White aldercreature if I was being called an inbred hillbilly lay person.

OK seeing as how with this petition drive we are at least starting to get political which is a GOOD THING! So here is my suggestion for the Alderman of the 6th ward. Why don't we get an officer to run against her and at least raise $50,000.00 for the individual. That should really give OUR candidate a fighting chance. That would pay for signs and at least two to three mailing pieces. This will really make her spend alot of money and we might have an outside shot of getting her out even if we can split her vote and maybe someone else can get in that IS NOT HER. Lets get some feedback.

As I was passing cross country through several airports I read in several papers that towns are considering cutting emergency services by usung more civilian private detectives to do many of the follow up investigations and and as many other duties they can to eliminate high end sworn detectives. They are looking at fire dept runs using less manpower because of the newer codes and fire proof materials that are now used in abundance. Several administrators see this, emergency services, as the new way to cut the budget.

Because after the CR# is sustained, you file a grievance. It goes to an arbitrator. Who, after he picks himself off the floor and catches his breath from either laughing so hard or utter bewilderment, overturns the suspension.
And what lawyer would even think of trying to go into Federal Court with the CR file as the basis of his civil suit? He would get locked up.

I did run across a private detective who has an office in Englewood. He told me that he worked for OPS under contract when they were in the rebuilding process. This was just over one year ago. Many Chicago suburbs hire private detectives to investigate their city employees for rule violations.It is not uncommon. Suburban schools use private detectives to follow the kids home to see if they live in Chicago. Watch yourself!!

I read this post; drank for a couple hours; re-read it and still don't know what is being said.
We'd hire dumber aldertheives but we couldn't find 'em. As it is, we send contractors wrapped in electronic wiring on their outer clothing with microphones clipped to their lapels and aldergluttons continue to solicit fee's and "licensing permit passes" even in full of semi-truck size television camera feeds. There have been a lot of cases that were sustained in the past couple of years that were so badly looked into by the investigators its almost comical. Almost because its not funny to see a hard working guy/gal getting screwed because some exempt was able to sick an IAd person on them and sustain no matter what the facts were.
The IPRA folks are not police personnel but IAd are supposed to be OUR folks. If there is a tie getting to 1st-the copper should get the base. Not the case as of late Im very sorry to say.
Watch yourselves when you go give a statement there are people over there who just enjoy making a name for them self even if it means stepping on hard working people to do it.
