Toddler Raises Specter of Death
On Tuesday Cook County Board President Todd Stroger argued he's certain that the board's successful slashing of the county's unpopular sales tax actually could put people's lives on the line with fewer dollars being funneled into the county's health and hospital system serving the poor and uninsured.
"Some people will die needlessly for lack of access to the health care our system provides today," Stroger said, in the heat of his losing battle.
Why don't you stop treating people from out of the county, out of the state and out of the nation? That will save over $50 million per year - almost a quarter of the $195 million just cut from the budget.
Then knock off a few of the 20 or so cousins making six-figures as middle managers.

this is just a tiny fraction of what universal healthcare would look like. this is what happens when you have 2 opposite camps. people demanding more tax paid medical services and taxpayers tired of having to dig deeper. imagine this on a national level. scary.
Todd says we are all gonna die now that the 1/2 percent of the bullshit tax was rolled back.

My sentiments exactly ! Quit handing out freebies to those who have found Cook County a great place to put the bite on our health care system.
What's next Erkle, a giant statue of yourself perched atop CCH holding a bottle of medicine & a neon sign with the message " send us your ill & ailing, you need not live in Cook County, Illinois or even belong in this country. If we run short of money for the care I'll just increase taxes on the good people of Cook County who make this all possible".
to fix this all you would have to do is verify that the person has an illinois state Id or drivers license and you would save millons of dollars. if you want free health care you must prove where you live. Thats all nothing more.

Ahh....the ol' Democratic scare tactic! Tell 'em fear and they will fall to their knees and they will ask to be saved!! You kno' what Erkel.....close it down! Close it down now!! Don't scare me, just do it! Show me that you have the balls to close these places down, because you say that there isn't enough dough for them to keep open! In the meantime....all the commissioners and you too, should take a pay cut!!
They rolled it back half a percent? That's like saying we're only going to get raped half as often. Drop it 3/4 of a point BELOW what neighboring Indiana charges, and I can guarantee within 5 years we'll have more business here than we know what to do with, and we'll make up the loss in rate with the increase in volume.

I keep getting the feeling that this admin, just like the one in DC, is purposely trying to crash this country into the ground which would make a complete rebuild easier to accomplish...
That scenario I would have never given a second thought on a year ago... but either these assholes are just completely insane or... I don't even want to go there.

Just like thousands before them whose insurance rates were raised beyond their affordability and couldn't get referrals to specialists for their respective diseases, sicknesses and ailments.
Aforementioned insurance rates raised so that the undeserving, non-taxpaying societal leeches and illegals that have too many children can reap the benefits of free or severely discounted healthcare while the productive members of society foot the bill.
Anyone out there have a child recently? A "routine" birth with no complications with mother and child being sent home after a one day stay is, on average, $13K. Now multiply that by the usual suspects (demographically-speaking) at 5 to 6 (or more) kids per household. Then don't forget to factor in all the free shit thrown at them when leaving the hospital, vouchers for formula, diapers, etcetera.
Don't forget the millions spent on trips to the ER for "asthma attacks", ER resources spent on repeat homeless detox fools, idiot parents that bring infants to the ER with fevers because they're too fucking stupid to buy Tylenol...plus the countless other bullshit reasons these parasites concoct to perpetuate a visit to a county ER.
So yes, Toddler, people will die. And if that indeed proves to be the case, don't forget where to squarely place the blame - on YOURSELF and the entire Democratic party. Just remind yourself what the REAL tragedy is in this whole equation: the constant fleecing of the employed, productive, contributing, hard-working taxpayers of this county and city. Not the worthless pieces of shit you and you ilk placate with "treats" and "goodies" to keep them quiet and keep them voting democratic.

The next Cook County Board President ('cause it ain't gonna be Erkel) should have the stones to take his name off the hospital and re-name it. There should be a very public ceremony when this happens. Marching bands, lasers, disco balls and everything. His father is the one who started this mess. Get that name off the hospital! It should be re-named to "County Taxpayer Hospital" or "Compliments of the Good Taxpayers of Cook County So You Can Use This Place as a Primary Care Physician When You Have a Cold and a Green Card Hospital". The last one might be a tad bit long.
