parking is all residential in this area. Jewel lot is 4 blks to the east and St Eugene's is 2 blks to the west. Wonder if the city contacted St Eugene for use of the lot. Can probably hold 300 - 400 cars..

Quick question...I'm new to the department and am currently on furlough. What is the uniform of the day for the wake/funeral?

In addition to Thursday's wake, please show up at the church on Friday. Services usually done at the cemetery (amazing grace, 21 gun salute, taps, flag presentation) will be held in front of the church. Since most officers don't show up at the cemetery this is a good chance to see what actually happens there. Very impressive and emotional.

DRESS WARM!

P.S. Last funeral State police came in force, 70+ marked units. And they all showed up at the cemetery. Thank them when you see them.

As another poster stated, Lets act professional, and try and wear our uniform correctly.

I too have a lot of questions in this.

Shape of the pool car with 127,000 miles on it

Tires

Why didn't the airbags deploy

Salting of road with S & S

RIP Sarge

Always remember this could be your wake or funeral when you attend. Act accordingly and show your love.

When you walk out that door let your loved ones know that you love them too.

Try to look your best, but I have to show up after work on the way home in uniform with a jacket over. I think the thought is there, and I have already been to too many of these.
God Bless, I hope we get to the bottom of this. REFUSE TO WORK N A DEFECTIVE CAR!!!!

----
The same respectful attire you would wear to a family member's wake or funeral. Uniform optional if you're off duty.

Salute if you're in uniform, hand over heart or at your side if you're in civilian dress.

It's not the first time he's gotten the name of a deceased officer wrong. I can't believe he called him HAYMARKET at that press conference! What an utter lack of respect.

Thanks for the info.

Do we know if CPD put this out statewide/areawide?

This is a weird line of duty death in the sense that it's probably worse than most as it might have been prevented.

I'm just happy that sgt haymaker was a good Christian man and was ready to be with God. This is just an example of how we may go at any time so please live as if today is the day you may be called home. May God bless you all and give strength and comfort to all of sgt haymakers family and friends.
