CPS teachers to get 4% raises, supposedly to head off a strike. And they didn't have to wait till their contract was three years expired and were not told sarcastically by mayor mumbles to go blame their union.

Imagine that, 4% raise, here you go, like a bone to a dog. And we fight and wait and wait and wait and get 2%.

Fuck you daley, another day at 10% speed and little or no work. Fuck you daley, I will never forget, you lost me for the remainder of this career.

How about the teachers getting 4% in this economy? CPS is taking out a loan to pay them to avoid a strike! Oh, that's right, they can strike!

F this city!

Does anyone know what the fuck this is? It's from the FOP website:

Department Procured Outside Employment 06/10/10

The Department and the FOP have come to terms regarding a Department Procured Outside Employment Program that is scheduled to begin in July 2010. The program will be open to all members below the rank of sergeant regardless of unit or title code.

Those members that are interested in participating in this program must complete an e-Learning module that will be available on the
e-Learning site in the near future. Members will sign up for a three month period. Members will be notified of opportunities that are available during this time period via CPD email. Members must possess a valid CPD email address in order to participate in this program.

Members may also receive emergency communications regarding assignment by phone. It is imperative that members ensure that the phone number listed with the Department is the phone number that they wish to be contacted at. Members may change their contact number to a cell phone number by completing Personnel Change Notice (CPD 11.611). Simply check the Change Phone Number box and supply the old and new phone numbers in the body of the form.

Log/C.R. No. 1021212
On 24 October 2008, a complaint was registered with the Independent Police Review Authority, regarding an incident occurring in the 1st District on 15 October 2008, involving the Superintendent of Police, while on duty. It was alleged that the Superintendent participated in a partisan political campaign/activity by way of comments made to a television reporter, brought discredit/disrepute to the Department because of said comments, and was inattentive to his duty. Based on the recording of the interview, and witness/accused interviews, IPRA recommended that the allegation that the Superintendent participated in partisan political campaign/activity be “UNFOUNDED,” in that his comments did not speak to his role or participation in the campaign. Further, IPRA recommended to “SUSTAIN” the allegations that the Superintendent impeded the Police Department’s operations and was inattentive to his duty in that while in uniform and on television he made comments that favored a particular political candidate. IPRA recommended that the Superintendent receive a reprimand.

Enjoy SCC. There is nothing better than spending time with family/self and being away from this job. Have a great time off. I'll lift a few whiskies in your name while I am off for the rest of the month.

The board of ed is raising class size minimums to at least 35 (the extra students prob coming from former special ed. classes, with disabilities and behavioral issues), thus prompting mass layoffs, in an effort to get the union back to the negotiating table over salary freezes and pensions. Speaking as a laid-off teacher, I would gladly accept a temp. salary freeze, if it meant saving jobs.

Received an e-mail from Crate and Barrel with a link to the list of the wedding contest winners. I was disappointed to see that none of the top three spots included the Coles.

F--K Crate and Barrel.

Everything isn't a conspiracy. It's been more than seventeen years since the Dept demanded your listed phone be your hardline home phone.

I know this because I was instrumental in changing it.

This isn't hard. Many of us no longer HAVE a hardline phone. So, I guess your cell IS your only phone. RIGHT?
