Two More "Innies;" One More "Outie"
- Chicago police officials said two men were shot to death in a grocery store in the East Garfield Park neighborhood this evening.
Police received a call about shots fired on the 3600 block of West Ohio Street at about 6:28 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety. Police were looking for one suspect who fled the scene after the shooting.
Police could be seen walking in and out of the M and K Grocery following the shooting. Neighbors said the two men who were killed might have been playing pool in the back of the store.
These "indoor homicides" are saving everyone a lot of work lately. Thanks goodness this brain trust is leading us into the 21st century of policing.
And then we have this flash of investigative brilliance by our fearful leader:

- If there wasn't a pool table in that corner store/game room, there's an excellent chance these upstanding citizens would be alive today.
Honest to god, J-Fled ought to come up with a "Quote a Day Calendar." We think it would be a best seller.
UPDATE: And an outside homicide in 025:
UPDATE: And an outside homicide in 025:
A 24-year-old man was found shot to death Tuesday night in the Cragin neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side.
Preliminary reports said officers responded to shots fired in the 4600 block of West Belmont Avenue at about 9:25 p.m., according to Police News Affairs [...]. Arriving officers found an unresponsive man laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head, he said.
There was no immediate information available about the circumstances behind the shooting.
- If there wasn't a sidewalk here, there's an excellent chance this man wouldn't have been lying on it, bleeding from a head wound and he would be alive today.

I guess grocery stores in that area are different than the ones near me. I have never seen a grocery store with a pool table.
I love these witty J-Fled haikus!
Gotta run!
Inside homicide??
"If I...saw that I was the cause of (poor) morale in this department, no one would have to ask me to leave, I would leave on my own."
The killing is still going......
Don't forget the "Outie" in 025 tonight.
you can also tack on an "outie" at belmont and kilpatrick---- 025 caught the 0110--- nice clean head shot.....
is 006 still leading the city??
J-FLED also said:
"IF MAYOR DALEY DIDN'T HAVE AN ASSHOLE I WOULDNT HAVE SHIT ON MY FACE".

Maybe steroid head has a point . . .
After all, our BIGGEST CAUSE of poor morale is Richard M Daley and his band of criminals, not necessarily Jody Weis. He's a dickwad, to be sure, for taking the money and being a friggin puppet for this mayor, and he certainly contributes to the poor morale. But what would cause the morale in the CPD to skyrocket quicker, an announcement that Daley WILL NOT seek another term as mayor or that Jody will not have his contract renewed and Daley will replace him with ANOTHER hand picked puppet???
Hey, I'm just sayin...
And then J-Fled spoke thusly:
"If the man had not survived his teenage years and been killed in a drive-by shooting years ago, there is an excellent chance that he'd already be dead and this homicide would not have occurred on my watch!"
And then J-Fled spoke thusly:
"If we gave CPS parents guppies, they might have learned to eat their young thereby reducing the number of handgun homicides in Chicago!"
Here's a thought. If some people were sterilized at a young age and didn't fuck as much, creating thugs in the first place, there would be no crime.

Yeah, sounds like an "unlicensed amusement" to me. Was there a 2010 city sticker down there by the coin slot?
Continuing the pretzel logic here -- either way, it's the city's fault. Quick! Call Briskman and Briskman! Am I seeing double? (hic)

The ones I shop at don't generally have dead people, shell casings, or pools of blood either, but I have learned to reserve judgment and respect "cultural differences."
Celebrate diversity!
The issue I have with this story is calling the place a grocery store. Are you kidding me?
But see is the outie really an outie in 025. Since the guy was waiting at a bus stop he was waiting to go inside a bus. So since this is a gray area I say we don't count this one.
I just want the Dead People/Shot People total. During the Viet Nam War, every day the newspaper listed the number of wounded and dead GIs on the front page.
And speaking of "innies!"
Drew Peterson is rumored to have planted the grinner found at 59th & Aberdeen according to highly reliable sources...
