I think that young Kevin Bacon looks an awful lot like that dumb kid Masters (x3)...except that if that happened to Masters, his ASS would have been seen sticking up high in the air!
The list of aldermen at least thinking about calling it quits includes such political heavyweights as: Ginger Rugai (19th), Jim Balcer (11th), Frank Olivo (13th), Ed Smith (28th), Vi Daley (43rd), Pat Levar (45th), Mary Ann Smith (48th) and Bernard Stone (50th).
Could there be more indictments coming? Is the mayor going to fill these spots or re-map the wards so he doesn't have to fill them?

Maybe Ike caught a few flies. Get rid of the Machine in Chicago and we may just survive.
Is the method in which people are being moved in the Department to receive a meritorious promotion an issue FOP should file a complaint/grievance. Should IAD look into it? Where is the Department Advocate? The Department is circumventing the meritorious process which violates the contract and department orders. Certain member rights are being violated.
Further, FOP should file a complaint with the Inspector’s General Officer? Or individual members should file the complaint. Nonetheless, FOP should lead the charge. The Inspector General’s webpage lists, “Do you believe you have been a victim of political discrimination in hiring, promotions, or other employment actions by the City of Chicago?” The Merit process was changed to favor certain members.
The Pension issue, the merit issue – when will FOP work for its members? If FOP remains on the sidelines, then its time for a change. What do they do?
It is my belief that J-Fed is just hanging on, and going through the motions, just for a paycheck. He must know he is way over his head. He made great mistakes,in getting rid of all the good personnel, that could have walked him through his time. Instead he surrounded himself, with people who should have never rose to the positions they were in. I suspect he is trying to weasel his way into our pension fund, and then he will have the last laugh on us. PS: Have A Nice Day ????
Looks like this is going to be a bloody weekend... Whenever that dumb-ass sticks his giant head in front of the cameras to talk about how much crime is down... POP POP POP, they dead. Shut the fuck up judy weis.
Someone posted in another thread about all of the aldermen quitting. This sounds like one of the old tricks they use to get "their clouted ones" appointed by the mayor prior to the election and run as incumbents, appaently giving them a leg up on everybody else. I wonder if he'll put out the job announcement again?
OT: fivefrank updated AGAIN...getting even less for retro! Get ready to get fucked hard and a ton of complaining and zero action to ensue! this place sucks
A little of topic but I was looking at the Top 8 problems facing the Department" in your sidebar. Not sure when it was originally posted (probably over 4-5 years ago), and I see nothing has changed. With the exception of being "outgunned", the AR15 program is certainly a step in the right direction, but we still don't have a range to go shoot them, and the POWER test restricts many fine shooters from participating.
In terms of "youngest to oldest", 4-5 years ago a large percentage of the CPD had less than 3 years OTJ. Now I wonder how we would rank nationally in terms of median years OTJ.
I think we need a "Tea Party" within the CPD, to bring about the department that is sorely needed, because no one is listening.
O.T. I have a question that me and a co-worker can't figure out. The other day some mother on the southside was shot while in her house after coming home from work. If she was to die would it be an OUTSIDE murder or an INSIDE murder? She was inside butt the shooter was outside. If maybe someone from the policy group can ask J-FLED or MASTERS MASTERS MASTERS for a clarrafication for us it would be really appreciated.
Off topic: SCC, any further details concerning the officer run over by a car in the alley at 79th & South Chicago? I heard the wanted vehicle (Silver Monte Carlo) with two males was being pursued by numerous units before the occupants bailed out around 139th & Ashland, fleeing into the woods. Heard the officer who was hit fired on the striking vehicle, blood was found in the car after the occupants bailed. Was anyone captured last night? Units from CPD and the burbs were searching the woods for the occupant(s), who might have been shot.
ot , with the economy so bad fop will not get 100 officers to retire in 2010
old timers are getting all the special employment , good furloughs, working second watch why settle for 75% of pay no one f-ck- with them most are more knowledgeable then the young sgts and lts
To the person inquiring about discrimination and such - no, fop only deals with grievances. Go to an attorney and sue the city. and file with eeoc if it so applies. More and more officers are doing it, so I hear. Plus its a great way to continue documentation of the truth of what today's exempt are doing. If you don't take it legal, its just gossip.
The homicide numbers may be down, but I cannot remember a summer where the number of people shot at one time (in groups) has been as bad.
When I hear the insistence about how the numbers are down, I have to wonder how many shooting victims lived due to improvements in medical technology, and how many more of them might have been fatalities 10, 20 or 30 years ago.
Wow, crime is down? I just handled a shooting with nobody in custody and there are several other shootings and a couple homicides around the city on a nice quiet Wednesday. Keep believing JPUD and Dick's lies, crime higher than ever and alive and well.
People aren't dying today as much as 15 or 20 years ago because of one thing, and it isn't JPUD, Ernie Brown and the CPD's crime fighting strategies. The reason homicides are down is because the doctors at Mt. Siani and Stroger do a great job of dishing out free healthcare services to all the ghetto breeders who get shot. This city is more dangerous now than it ever was, there are more gang members in Chicago now than there ever was and they have more rights than the average citizen will ever have thanks to Section 1983 and liberal federal court judges and juries. Keep letting these savages multiply and eventually nobody will have a job in Chicago and we will all be unemployed leeches of the government. kEEP VOTING FOR DALEY AND DEMOCRATS.

Shore expects them soon,(it's up to the distributors who ship them to dealers) but they did say Gen4 will be made in USA using a different finish, which doesn't contain a certain chemical making the pistol more prone to show wear marks. They say stick with older version.

Gosh we wouldn't want these oldtimers to actually get lives outside of this job. Maybe even retire and enjoy 20 yrs of life with family. No drag them out at 63 and watch them drop dead with 3000 hrs on books and millions in deferred comp.....75% is tax free, same as if working. I wish I could retire!
J-fled should realize that the whole world is watching,he has performed his job like a political puppet.Who will hire him to run another department????? .He can be controlled so easily that he appears to not have a mind of his own.
coming out friday will be j-fed and master's new hollywood hit " the other guy"... masters will be played by mark wallberg and j-fed will be played by none other than will ferrell.... i feel sorry for ferrell because he almost looks a little like cement head j-fed.... ricky boooobie..... jackie moon....

This video is priceless. Too bad someone could put Jfled in the uniforma. remain calm and gotta run.
it would be great if a transcript of this were posted.
Poor Fled.
The sad part is this clip is reality of the current CPD.
WOW
HOW DID U EVER GET THE RAW FOOTAGE TO J-FLED "GOTTA GO" WEIS IN HIS EARLY YEARS IN THE FEEBS.
HE WAS IMPRESSIVE BACK THEN IN UNIFORM TOO.
NOBODY TOLD HIM THE F.B.I DONT HAVE UNIFORMS!
That guy does resemble J-Fled in uniform quite a bit. But the forehead is too small and the eyes too far apart and not beady enough.
