Chicago's Future?

Think that "sanctuary city" designation is no big deal? Think again:
  • The Los Angeles Police Department’s sanctuary policy is officially intended to foster trust between illegal aliens and the LAPD–in particular, to ensure that illegal aliens cooperate with the police in reporting crime. No one has ever shown that sanctuary policies result in more witness cooperation than would occur without such policies, but we can now say with assurance that the more general “trust and good will” rationale for sanctuary policies is bogus.

For the last two days, Hispanics in the Westlake section of Los Angeles, a poor neighborhood of Mexicans and Central Americans close to downtown, have violently clashed with the police following the fatal shooting on Sunday of a drunken Guatemalan “day laborer” — i.e., illegal alien — who had been threatening passersby with a vicious-looking knife. Responding at 9.30 p.m. to a 911 call regarding the knife-wielding assailant, three officers on bikes confronted 37-year-old Manuel Jamines with weapons drawn and repeatedly asked Jamines in Spanish and English to drop the knife. Instead, Jamines, who, as was his weekend wont, had been drinking since 9 a.m., lunged at them with the knife over his head, according to LAPD chief Charles Beck. Officer Frank Hernandez responded with two shots which killed Jamines.

The subsequent protests could well have been organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton. Residents have thrown rocks and bottles at officers, set trashcans on fire, and hurled projectiles at the windows of the local Rampart police station, while calling the police “assassins” and demanding “justice.” A store security guard had to flee in his car after protesters got in a shoving match with him; as he sped away, they threw objects at his car. As usual in such matters, witnesses are claiming that Jamines was unarmed.

An un-assimilated, non-English speaking, lower-socioeconomic-class with no permanent ties to the community? What could possibly go wrong?

So, if we insist on marching, let's march for something that matters. Time has shown us that the identity of the superintendent is irrelevant. In the end they all act the same. They all act in their best interest, not ours.

If we're going to march let's march for indemnification. Now that's something that matters.

Don't spend your time wasting time.

What is so pathetic is to read comments on other news sites about this.

These people some how think that cops have super-powers. As a person charges at you with a knife, you are able to taze them, shoot rubber pullets, or just apply some kung fu to stop the offender. Everyone then goes home safe and happy.

From the NYT ..

Mexico.. Violence on the Border

[...]In August 2010, with the pace of killings rising, officials have backed off their effort to persuade Mexicans that the mounting death toll was proof that the government was succeeding in disrupting the cartels. Instead, Mr. Calderón set up series of high-level forums drawing Mexico's entire political establishment in an effort to show that the government was willing to engage its critics and listen to suggestions.

The government said earlier that month that 28,228 people had been killed since the government began its crackdown on drug cartels at the end of 2006. Of those, 2,076 were local, state or federal police officers, according to the Public Security Ministry.

---

Fighting 'Zones of Impunity'

While Mr. Calderon dismisses suggestions that Mexico is a failed state, he and his aides have spoken frankly of the cartels' attempts to set up a state within a state, levying taxes, throwing up roadblocks and enforcing their own perverse codes of behavior. The Mexican government has identified 233 "zones of impunity'' across the country, where crime is largely uncontrolled, a figure that is down from 2,204 zones a year ago.

Keyword - assimilation.

If you don't like OUR culture, stay the F out.

Tired of all these people coming here to colonize instead of coming here to assimilate.

This is not Mexico, Pakistan, Viet Nam or any other country or culture.

And take all the blubbering liberals with you. We'll throw them in free. When they go to your country, they'll get a better appreciation of our country.

To the unpublished asshat/asshole:

We haven't said we're against the march. We haven't said we're for it. We've asked questions, attempting to determine if, when and where the best location for a march would be - something the boys over at the FOP ought to have done weeks ago and something they ought to be doing right now in light of changed circumstances. But they aren't for some reason. We'll leave it to your tiny brain to figure that one out.

In the meantime, we'll continue to do our thing here, supporting the men and women of the CPD.

PS - we still don't know who the f#$% you keep spouting on about. You obviously don't know shit.

You don't reward illegal behavior with gifts. In this case, the gift is one of the most valuable things ever had by mere mortals, US Citizenship. Look, you whiny, limp wristed liberals, if you think it's so bad here, leave the damn resort you stay at next time and travel to the "real" part of whatever country you go to rub elbows with the common folks and let us know where to send the flowers to. Because you might just end up dead. Ungrateful stinkin' carps.

The police are expendable to the politicians. Minorities can do whatever they want because they vote Democrat. They are to be coddled and the police are expected to take a beating from them without a whimper. This is not America anymore.

I recently read a book written in 1996 by Thomas Chittum, called 'Civil War 2.' I figured it would be a poorly written piece of quack-work. It is prophetic. Many of the off the wall predictions have come true, the most obvious is the establishment of the Mexican "Reconquesta" (re-conquest) of the formerly Mexican territory in the southwest US. He actually predicts that the beginning battle in the low intensity conflict that gives rise to the breakup of the US begins in a park in Los Angeles, with riots by hispanic illegals. These illegals have basically established their own little country down near the border and it's too late now to get rid of them without major domestic civil disturbance and terrorism resulting from it. Basically, we are screwed. The only safe place will be Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana...

mexicans are not the problem or guatemalans or anyone else who is here illegally--- the problem is our government--- they sat on their hands and made it convenient for these people to come here and make a living--- now we have 20 million illegals here and how do you deport them all--- to make matters worse, arizona's governor signs a get tough law on illegals in her state and gets criticized by obama and the federal government blocks enforcement of the law--- if you are drunk and stupid and you charge uniformed officers with a knife you can expect to be shot dead no matter what color your skin is---

What would happen to these fine illegal's if they treated the police in their home countries this way? Would they even be able to act like this against the police in Mexico or Gauatemala? Just some food for thought.

And before the comments flame me, I'm not "just some white guy who can't handle it." I'm Mexican and my kids speak English and Spanish -- English while at school and "out in the world," English and Spanish while at home and at family gatherings.

Don't be so sure about Montana being a safe haven for the law-abiding, there are many liberals there.

We don't have to round-up all the illegals. All we have to do is get a liberal judiciary to actually say that the 14th amendment does not allow illegals to birth US citizens. Oh well, that'll never happen. The other thing to do is dry up the jobs for illegals. If employers don't hire them, they will leave on their own. The last thing would be for us, the voters to tell the elected representatives that there should be no financial aid given to anyone that is not a legal resident of the US.

The Mexican Government has a sweet deal, export your troublemakers and unemployed to the US. They haven't figured out that even when they retake the US southwest, it won't be worth having because the problem is the Mexican people and the government they elect. The US southwest will be governed by the same backwards, corrupt officials they have in Mexico. The US, Canada, Central and South America were all settled about the same time by the invading Europeans, can you tell me why Canada and the US have such wonderful countries and the rest is backwards, dangerous and corrupt? The founders here and Canada followed the British model of governance or started the American experiment where personal liberty and economic freedoms were encouraged. They are limited forms of government that emphasised personal liberty and economic liberty.

That's why the US is so great and other countries pale by comparison.

There are almost a billion people in this hemisphere and there are probably another billion living in the other parts of the world that would love to get here and never leave. Do you think that we can handle another 2 billion people in this country? Especially droves of poor and uneducated people?

Face the fact that the middle and upper classes of the educated from other parts of the world have a pretty sweet deal already, right where they are. They aren't the ones dying to get here, the people with poor health, little or no education and very limited economic prospects are the ones clamoring to get into the US.

We need to slow the immigration to this country to what is currently allowed by legal immigration. We can't sustain uneducated people from other parts of the world that think once they get here even if they don't want to hustle to survive, they can get a living from the government. The damn government is out of money! It is near chapter 11 right now.

Democrats, these illegals will destroy our form of government because they don't understand why it is or what it is, and for the record, I don't believe educated liberals do either. Since they have no understanding of why it is what it is, they have no interest in maintaining it.

Rockefeller Republicans, this flood of cheap labor is going to be our undoing. You need to discourage it, not facilitate it.

Clip from NPR"

"[...] The violent border city of Juarez provides some insight into the troubles besetting the national police force. Recently, hundreds of federal cops took to the streets of Ciudad Juarez in an extraordinary demonstration to accuse their commanders of corruption and colluding with the criminals they are supposed to be fighting.

The images were striking, even in this embattled city of Mexico's savage cartel war. On Aug. 7, some 250 irate blue-uniformed federal cops gathered in the parking lot of the hotel where they live and began punching their comandantes on live TV...

The protesting cops told TV cameras their commanders were forcing the rank and file to extort common citizens, and if the officers resisted, they were framed for bogus drug crimes.
