Season Opener
After quarterback Jay Cutler struggled during his first season with the Chicago Bears, the team brought in renowned coordinator Mike Martz to help turn things around.
With the offense still trying to work out the kinks ahead of Sunday's opener, Cutler is confident -- and the Bears need him to be as they try to snap a three-year string of missing the playoffs.
We believe Detroit won two games last season and no games the year before that, so they've got just about nowhere to go except up. The Bears have been mired in mediocrity for the past 3 years and we see little to think it's changing this year.

If the Chicago Bears lose in their 2010 season opener to, of all teams, the Detroit Lions, you can say sayonara to Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo, and the swiftness of their firings will be commensurate with the magnitude of the loss as registered on the scoreboard. The Bears could have a new general manager and a new head coach by mid-week! Go Lions!
Prepare yourself for a very disappointing Bear's season. Fans and the press will be calling for Lovie's head and the head of the GM by midseason. Not one sports writer has said anything encouraging about this team, evern picking the Bears to finish in last place.

It don't matter how the Bears play. Even if they got the first pick of the draft next year, they're pick would turn out to be a bust.
While the Bears only trail by a point at the half, I fully expect the Lions to hand them their asses in the 2nd half.
P.S. - It's the Packers' year. All you Anti-CheeseHead haters can take that to the bank.

The Bears just tried four times to move the ball two feet and failed.
These are the two worst teams in the history of football.
One interception (so far) that never should've happened, lots of offensive yardage but not getting into the endzone except for one lucky long play, and four(4!) tries to get 6 INCHES for a TD and no can do? This is a repeat of last year, just fewer (so far) INT's.
Bears win 19-14 by default. Lions Calvin Johnson had winning touchdown. Bad zebra all.
Long, long season for Bears.

As I have suggested each year, FIRE LOVIE SMIFF and his staff. Who ever made those calls when the Bears were on the 1/2 yard line and could not move it to a TD should be fired and banned from Chicago.
DA BEARS!!!!!! We walked all over detroit we should have won by 3 or 4 scores. fumbles and redzone offense killed us but we still pulled it off. I predict a 10-6 season with a wild card birth.
Lovie, worst 4th and goal call I ever witnessed. No credit given for guts to go for it because it was just an asinine call. Just stupid. Lucky for you that your team pulled this game out. 15 more games and it will be over for you.

The Bears stole one today, because that catch by Johnson in the end zone was a TD.
They must have been prepared for something like this, because the guys in the booth brought in the NFL rules guru, who seemed to have just been standing by, waiting for something like this to pop up.
So, a lesson learned. It's all about "process" now when you score a TD. Seriously, I had no idea what the fuck those guys on Fox were talking about.
I hate when they change the rules. It seems they do everything within their power to complicate what is a very simple game.
All I know is the the Bears are awesome! Calvin Johnson is a tool for dropping the ball!

Just got back from the CPD/CFD vs Blackhawks charity game at Little Cubs Park. A nice time and a good turnout. About 200 people paid $10 bucks for a picture with Lord Stanley's Cup. Good turnout. Great yearly event.

I wouldn't say the refs robbed Detroit. They called it right but I agree it is a horrible rule. That is something the rules committee needs to look at in the off-season. That should definitely be a catch.
The Lions should have won with that called back TD. It may have been a technical rule violation, but it was a game winner.
Both teams played like shit, going to be a long season for both ChiTown and Detroit fans.

Man, I'm in a really weird place with the Bears. The Bears are one of the first sports teams I started watching as a kid. I ALWAYS had to be home to watch them. Even during the Dave Wannstedt and Dick Jauron era's I still had to watch them.
Now-a-days I hardly care if they're on TV. I still watched them today, just for a laugh. I use to go crazy when they scored or get pissed when they did something dumb. Now I crack up when Jake Cutler throws into triple coverage and gets intercepted. I laugh when Cutler holds the ball too long knowing damn well his O-line can't hold anyone off and fumbles the ball.
Maybe I've grown up, or maybe I've given up.

If the rule stays in effect when the catch is made on the field, it's still a stupid rule because the ground dislodging the ball shouldn't have anything to do with the catch. When the ball is caught in the end zone and the receiver is legally down before the ball comes out of his hands, it's a touchdown. Period. Fucking idiot rule.

They never had taser chargers in the districts. When the battery goes low, you exchange the battery at the armorer on days.
