Good News
The U.S. Parole Commission today rejected the parole bid of a 79-year-old man convicted in the 1967 shooting deaths of two Northlake police officers during a bank robbery.
The decision came less than three weeks after a hearing examiner recommended denying parole for Ronald Del Raine, convicted of killing police Detective John Nagle and Officer Anthony Perri and robbing Northlake Bank of nearly $84,000. Del Raine was accompanied by two other men, Henry Michael Gargano and Clifton O. Daniels, in the robbery on Oct. 27, 1967.
"Public safety is the commission's paramount concern," Parole Commission Chairman Isaac Fulwood Jr. said in a prepared statement Monday. "Mr. Del Raine's prison record showed that his release would be incompatible with the public safety."
- Del Raine, sentenced to 199 years for the crimes, then given another 10 years for being convicted of two escape attempts, is in a federal penitentiary in Colorado. Gargano, 78, also seeking parole, is seriously ill and is residing at a medical center attached to a penitentiary in North Carolina. Daniels died in prison.

Gargano? Is this Guy related to the Garrgano who was borrowing money from Broadway bank?
I went to school with Det. Nagels son during the period and remember when he lost his father.
It certainly has slipped my mind, but thank you for not forgetting.
I'm surprised the board finally found 1 criminal so dangerous that even Quinn wouldn't release him.
regardless if they are safe or unsafe for society, these pieces of shit killed 2 cops, committed a capital crime and need to pay for their crimes and complete heir sentences. do the crime, do the time. DIE in prison you pieces f shit, and get rid of this asinine bi-yearly parole review nonsense.
This is like a war that never ends.
Battle after battle to keep these murderers behind bars and to show that murder of police officers CAN NOT and WILL NOT be tolerated in a decent society.
I hope he rots in prison and when he finally dies, rots in hell where he belongs! RIP officer....
Anyone who kills a police officer should be put to death.
May God rest the blessed souls of Detective John Nagle and Officer Anthony Perri. May their families find peace in this ruling and know that there will be continued support for their families in 2012.
May cop murderers Del Raine- who took no responsibility while attempting escape- and Gargano, BOTH continue to rot in prison. Then HELL.

Specifically, he's in "USP Florence High."
"The United States Penitentiary (USP) in Florence, Colorado, is a high security facility housing male offenders. It is part of the Florence Federal Correctional Complex (FCC).
"USP Florence is located on State Highway 67, 90 miles south of Denver, 45 miles south of Colorado Springs, and 40 miles west of Pueblo."
Railroad buffs may have heard of the old Florence and Cripple Creek steam narrow-gauge. Area was mined out ages ago, and this prison complex is about the only thing that's happened in that area since then.
'Way up in the mountains, might as well be a thousand miles from anything -- and destined to be some people's last stop on this earth.
Think, kids. Think before you do s__t.
Please.
As a citizen troller, I again offer my thanks to the Fed PRB I assume rather than the IL PRB.(although the state PRB has made some good choices lately too) They have made the right decision. It matters not about the medical conditions of these people. They should look forward to dying in the care of the prison system. They did not go there with rifles and a BAR as I recall to rob the tellers. They took that stuff to shoot it out with the cops because they intended to kill any cops with enough courage to try and stop them. The murders of these two cops was part of the bank robbery plan. Well they executed their plan and now we keep them in jail and in jail hospital until death do they get parole.

Uh-- the BAR is a little heavier than keeping your hand in your pocket with the index finger extended and claiming "I've got a gun."
Sounds like the offenders are right where they belong in this case.
