No Time Due in 002?

For the entire 13th Period? A completely winnable grievance.

With enough notice, the Department can make accommodations with hire-backs or importing volunteers from other districts/units.

What happens for the Christmas party in the Deuce? Everyone has to buy a ticket, then no one is allowed to show up?

Captain assignments are out:
Aguinaga to 10th district

Barnas to 25th district(how did that ass taste that you sucked to get back to 17 only to get sent to 25)?

Boisso to 11th district, great boss

Carroll to 003rd district

Fluder to 18th district, its all about me Jerry, but not a bad guy

Helm to 21st district

Matula to 24th district, one of the biggest strokes on the job, good luck 24

Morado to 006th district, good guy whose not afraid to hit the streets

Scheithauer to 24th district

Wedster to 006th district, regardless of her airport antics, decent captain.
006th district did ok with the two they got.

That was former cmdr lewis' misunderstanding of ernie brown's meno that restricted time due for all supervisors during the 13th period.

The new cmdr seems to have a lot of common sense and we don't expect some of the cattiness that we experienced with the previous cmdr.

This was the former 002 Commander Lewis', now Lt., edict. It first hit the CO book back in September if I recall correctly. Her reasoning was anticipated "manpower shortages." I don't see how the entire 13th period will have shortages that would be greater than the shortages 002 experienced in the summer. On most nights in the summer 3rd watch had 2-4 cars down, and at least once a week had up to 6 cars down with the wagon doubling as a beat car. 1st watch experienced much the same. A desk jockey drinking the kool-aid tried to say there are a lot of 13 period furlos. That's a load of crap. Isn't each period suppossed to have an equal weighted percentage of furlos? There will be a ton of grievances filed if the new Commander doesn't rescind this silly order. Fred, you can instantly improve morale here with a simple shit-canning of this order from a now defunct, demoted Lt. What say you Fred?

The Christmas party is scheduled before the 13th period starts, for 03DEC10. $75bananas per ticket. I'll keep my money! Hey, maybe they can have a Genessa Lewis pinata and all those who have had slips turned back can take a few whacks! Of course the pinata has to have an "I've been bush-whacked by Alderman Rupal" button to go along with her newly minted Lt. button!

What do you expect from a commander who was a sergeant only two months ago?

You gotta love the promotional process of this department! I wonder. . . Did Commander Waller submit an application for his promotion like everyone else, or was he simply promoted because he was the only available lieutenant around that fit a certain demographic?

Inquiring minds want to know!

They can just shove those X-mas party tickets up their ass. It sucks because the retirees deserve to be honored but who the fuck wants to be involved in anything with this fucked up department anymore? I can remember when the Christmas parties were fun and something you looked forward to every year. Now you go to that shit and you have to worry about IAD setting up on you to grab you for a DUI on your way out and whether or not your district will give you the night off to go after buying a 70 dollar ticket. Fuck it all.

"What do you expect from a commander who was a sergeant only two months ago?"

This was FORMER Commander Genessa Lewis' order, not Wallers. Good try though G'ness! I'm not sure Waller is even aware of it yet.

On a side note. Plenty of former Housing South folks wandering into the district. Is there a reunion in the making?

You won't get much arguement from anybody in 024. 37 years on. Its time to go. Now Whalens another story. The man was a prince and will be greatly missed. Activity will go in the dumper because nobody will want to deal wit Matula or Schloss. The worst fate would be Rahm wins, then Schloss would be the commander.

Called him down to 35th while he was in LT. class at the academy and told him he was getting promoted. He respectfully declined but was told he did not have a choice.
This is why people fail. The Peter Principle!
Fred's a great Policeman but limited administrator.
Good Luck!

Company (CPD)Christmas Parties?

*ahem*

Especially in THIS current climate?

Fuck that noise...

Haven't done one in fifteen years. Nothhing but an ego stroke and a "taffy-pull" for w/c's and unit commanders.

If you were on tact, it was buy a ticket even if you weren't coming or prepare to get fucked with/launched to the watch and fucked with again for not being a "team player."

If you were on the watch? The w/c would call cars in off the street to "see the watch commander."

Expect to be bounced off your regular start time to visit the four others during your six day week.

Expect to be "very closely supervised" by watch management and even shadowed by one of the fine members of auditing & internal control (a dear friend of the w/c of course) for having the gall to refuse to buy into a beauty pageant & ego stroke with guns.

Thanking and congratulating a retiree personally (and a low key token of affection for the esteemed few :) is more to our liking but to be strong armed under pain of retaliatory discipline was, is and should be a no go.

To each their own as far as parties are concerned.

Nothing to gain for me, I retired 2 months ago. I just thought that someone should say it.

Congrats Fred.

Aren't most of the officers in 2 off everyday anyway. I didn't say all but most. I see most of the officers chilln' at the desk or in the gym or locker room for their entire tour of duty, so why complain about getting a day off denied. For those dozen or so working police, sorry that you got day off denied, especially since you carry the watch, that's bullshit.
