More Petition Problems
Though we can't imagine the Machine allowing her to be removed from the ballot:
City Treasurer Stephanie Neely submitted hundreds of election petitions bearing the names of two notaries who say they didn’t sign them — the same notaries who say their signatures were forged on petitions submitted by four candidates running for mayor.
The two notaries — Alex Caplan and Maricela Rodriguez — say their signatures were forged on 725 of the 2,331 petition pages that Neely submitted to city election officials last month so she could run for re-election in February. One of Neely’s petition sheets contains both Caplan’s forged signature and Rodriguez’s notary stamp.
Neely has been nothing but a problem since she got in, threatening to sue Mike Shields over his revelations she was accepting campaign cash from fund managers doing business with her office and having a Police Officer driver for some reason. But this is just more proof of the endemic fraud that permeates Chicago, Cook and Illinois elections. We're sure, looking back over the years, that numerous Machine backed candidates slipped under the radar exactly in this manner.

Chicago suffers from a culture of criminality that begins at the top and filters down to the last, lowest pay-grade employee.
The amount of corruption in each city employee is directly proportionate to his place on the totem pole.
It takes someone with a great deal of personal pride and ethics to not get caught up in this culture of criminality and to not just "do it the Chicago way."

Saw a segment on Chicago Tonight about these bad petitions. An election lawyer, when asked about Daley's comments about bringing in the feds for an investigation into all of these forged signatures agreed. In fact, not only did he agree, he said that responsible participants should be prosecuted and sentenced accordingly.
The color photo of Neely explained it all. She is a "Diva" and no one has the right to question anything she does!
As for the driver "Diva's" are allowed to have any and all perks that they desire.

She has 2 on duty police assigned to her. The Treasurer position like others have had bodyguards forever. WHY?????
Sorry SCC your wrong she does not have a driver! She has a fleet of cpd paid drivers! Seems neely went to the dept.and had them all made D-3 and they all got huge back pay checks,plus she has that new police spec crown vic paid for by us! If the city clerk could dump all his drivers/valets why does she still have a fleet of gofers,working a 2on 3 off schedule plus all the overtime WHY?? Not just that but when the valets retire they suck from our pension a D-3 (SGTS) pay rate which is $15,000 more in pension than a street cop maybe Mike Shields could look into this theft from the pension!
After what she did to Shields for telling the truth about her theft,and suing the pension hope she is thrown off the ballot! Why SCC does she have a 7 man police detail? They are paid lots of overtime and a work schedule which afoords much time off! As a matter of fact after some research they were paid D-1 rate and she in a back room deal got all her gofers the D-3 pay rate and hefty backpay checks! Wow! All this for a girl no one knows who she is or really cares. Also doing more "digging" only 1 of the alderman have 1 eddie burke that has a full compliment of police drivers. But yet up to 2005 the city clerk had a cushy detail but he has none,and I called someone in his office a few minutes ago and was told "The city clerk requests no police detail,as he can drive himself and sees no need for police to not be protecting the citizens and acting as personal valets"! Wow! Incredible now J-FED News media can you "dig" and stop this gross waste of manpower?? Are you ready to look into this? Or are you afraid to stop this?
The FOP wouldn't get on board with Shields, because they are too scared to ever rock the boat. OH, unless it's an election year.
There were many more police officers detailed as drivers then were listed as assigned to the detail unit. They were simply carried on the district attendance sheets as " detailed" I am not sure if anyone in the department really knows the actual numbers. Any district commander probably can detail a police officer as someone's driver, not tell his higher ups and no one would be the wiser. Look how they hide officers in the districts on assignments that have nothing to do with working the streets? There are no repercussions that I am aware of.
FOP, keeps posting what has shields done... Shields has raised one of the most important issues to our pension fund, camapaign contributions to our city treasurer. Where were they (FOP) to discover this?
Laws do not apply to Chicago politicians, they are free to do whatever they want!

This is what you get when our FOP is more interested in their own post-tenure employment and well-being than with keeping the membership's best interests in mind..
I mean, really???? This shit has been going on for how long, and not one person who sat on the Pension Board before Mike Shields came in and started ruffling feathers and bringing various "peculiarities" to light saw anything improper in the goings on concerning the state of our pension?
This can be construed as semi-tacit admission by FOP of, at minimum, knowledge of wrongdoing. Some might even accuse complicity on FOP's part. At bare minimum, it's negligence by FOP. The very same people that are supposed to represent and protect us "bottom-feeders" in the CPD food chain have once again let the fishbowl cloud-over with excrement deposited by the Daley Mafia. It'll be VERY interesting to see where some of the current members of FOP Board wind up at when they're shown the door this coming election. And while on the topic, we'll be the ones literally gasping for pension-based life post-CPD if Rahm is the tyrant's successor.

Hello? Shields came to legal defense and requested counsel. FOP approved and paid Shields lawyer to defend him.

You have to love an informed member. Once again you are suppose to be the police. If you look real closely you will see that the article was written in the Fop newsletter. I recall that the Fop also received the same threatening letter. What's real weird about the whole thing is I thought I received an e-mail from Mike Shields that said his articles weren't being published in the Fop newsletter. Hmmmmmm!

Actually our FOP tried to do something to help out mike shields. They were trying to screw him. They refused to cover his lawyers fees at first then decided to reconsider after a few weeks of stress for Mike and him trying to scramble to find a lawyer. Flop was thinking that if they tie up mikes time and finances in a lawsuit how would he run for FOP president. But then they figured out they probably should agree to help out the only member who has ever done anything to protect our pension. Flop decided it wouldn't paint a pretty picture for election year.

She has more than 6 D-3 coppers assigned to her her drivers made more than some CPD exempts!And give up no days! Wait a minute that is an "exempt"position any bosses want to chime in why are they not taking 24 furlough days like you are??
Hope there throw her off the ballot,maybe the great Pat Fitzgerald needs to look into her corrupt practices? Isn't her chief driver the guy who worked for Santos and along with his wife own a "dental office"that was caught taking low income money and not doing the services? Is that the same driver an HDO hack? Why does she merit all the over paid CPD drivers? How much overtime was stolen? She is as phony as they come! The city clerk is elected citywide,she Neely is elected citywide he has no valets she has many why?? Is her license valid? I guess you missed the point fop guy. By quite a bit.
It's not the about legal action against Sheilds, it's about the theft (or at very least the misuse of city services)and why is she on the board. How about an answer to that. Or will you say thats not an fop problem but one of the PB.Is it possible you have your own dirty laundry?

Isn't it the job of the pension board trustees, not fop, totally different board. Neeley is still on the board, she is still working with Shields to invest our money with the wrong companies. She still has her drivers. What has Shields stopped. Please Mike stop posting on here about how great you are and explain to us what your going to do for us. Do you even know how to file a grievance? What is your experience? Where you a rep in 011? Its great to come on SCC and brag about yourself, but what benefits will you get us? In all fairness Donahue and his group have done a good job in some bad times. New work schedule, 55 health insurance benefit, sworn affadavit, better pension. These are things off the top of my head. I was on the board before the city doesn't just cave and give us anything. I hope you can do more than just brag about yourself because with Donahue leaving you have some big shoes to fill.

Is it just me, or does anyone else see the painfully obvious (and unsuccessful, I might add) attempts by FOP to wash their hands of any wrongdoing with EVERYTHING that's gone and going wrong the past couple of years. The more they try to distance themselves from any type of culpability, the guiltier they appear. The little bit you guys are trying to do now is too little, too late. Voter registration drive? Ads about lack of manpower??? Shoulda thought about that YEARS AGO when we first started bringing this shit to your attention.
Your silence is deafening, FOP. Whatcha gotta say about it? Too bad it's not summer...at least you'd be able to try and deflect some heat by distracting the less involved officers with some bullshit golf outing or picnic at Gaelic Park. You losers better start packing your bags...
