• $6,080 spent on food and refreshments at Soldier Field for the prep Chicago Football Classic, an expense the report calls "extravagant." Only $900 was spent at the same event the previous year.
• More than $12,000 to host holiday parties at a board official's home in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
• A tab of $5,333 for artwork to decorate an office.
• $3,000 to hire a company to conduct a sweep of board offices for electronic surveillance for eavesdropping devices around the time top officials were subpoenaed as part of a widening federal investigation into admissions at elite city high schools.
• $979 for a one-night stay at a New York hotel for an unspecified business meeting, a bill the report says reflected a "lack of judgment and fiscal responsibility."
• A $272 scarf from the high-end clothier Burberry.
