Another Secret Meeting

J-Fled had another secret meeting at 35th Street. Seems he's been told he can stay until the new mayor is inaugurated at the beginning of May. No word on how that contract extension is going to play out.

But seriously? The city is going to pay something like $25,000 a month if the terms of the previous contract are intact. We'd be better off if Shortshanks just turned over Department to some of the existing exempts and told them not to touch anything until the new guy got in. He'd save the taxpayers some money for the first time ever.

He had a busy day at HQ today. There was also that 'stellar' press conference.

Uh, yeah, murders are up, but most of 'em were with guns, so we, uh, gotta get the guns off the street.

Oh, please. JUST SHUT UP.

Then what has he got to lose?? Why doesn't he make some promotions?

At the very least he should help those poor coppers waiting in limbo that are putting in out-of-grade slips every day.

Go ahead and have him stick around.

The Mayor-Elect meets with exemts and lays out his plans.

The exempts, many of whom have had to act the Roman, Claudius over the past three years can then tell him to fuck off.

Those lame duck months could be real bad for that asshole.

He's an abbreviated piece of nothing whose presence won't be missed and his absense fully worthy of being celebrated.

Instead of a framed picture and a name plate on the Superintendents Wall at HQ his image can be best represented by a photo of the grinning skull of a jackass bleaching in the desert sun and a name plate engraved with "WTF? 2008 - 2011"

So, the word is out on the CPD. Someone new will show up and tell you to eat shit and, surprise, you'll do it. J Fled didn't destroy the CPD, he just exposed how truly weak the "brotherhood" is.

Strictly off the cuff; but wouldn't it be an economically firm decision to appoint Jimmy Jackson as Interim Superintendent. Since he is of exempt status, his pay would not increase for "filling in", and thus save the city over $75,000.00 and begin to give the rank and file a little morale boost, and a breath of fresh air! I'm not positive since it may have changed since I was around, but I am pretty sure that a Mayor is prohibited by state law from arbitratily firing a Superintendent that he appointed, without action by the Police Board. I don't really feel like going to the trouble to looki it up either.

WRT: indexed crime stats

Hey, you know how we can report homicides down for Jan instead of up by 27%?

All we need to do is break homicides down into more categories. That's all

Like the innie-outie thing taken a few steps further.

You break them down until you find some small subset that provides the decreases numbers that you want to promote in your propaganda.

Ohhh, let's say we count multiple and single gunshot wounds as separate items. Or we count shots in the face as a separate total. Men shot vs women shot. 18~35 year olds vs 45~65. Northside, west side, south side. Hispanic, black, white, etc...

When Feb. crime stats come out we can boast that multiple gunshot homicides to the face in Hispanic men in the 45~65 age group on the south side of the city have fallen dramatically. And like the recent media reports for Jan we go on to say that however overall homicides have increased and leave it at that without any numbers or stats. This way people leave with the noting that we heard you say homicides fell dramatically.

To fix the image of auto thefts increasing just count the thefts by color and model and only report the ones that are going down.

Heh, the reason violent crimes are reported down other than playing a numbers game must be because other crimes not listed in the news are up.

OBAMA: Worst part of the job is, first of all, I've got a jacket on on Super Bowl Sunday.

O'REILLY: That's true.

OBAMA: If I wasn't president, that would not be happening.

O'REILLY: I have a tie. You don't have a tie.

OBAMA: The biggest problem for me is being in the bubble. It's very hard to escape. You know, you can't go to the corner...

O'REILLY: Everybody watching every move you make.

OBAMA: Every move you make. And you -- over time, you know, what happens is you feel like -- that you're not able to just have a spontaneous conversation with folks.

O'REILLY: Yes. OBAMA: And that's a loss. That's a big loss.

Amen.

Yeah, it took an historic blizzard that brought the city to a standstill to give us 60 hours without a shooting; barely enough time to mop the blood out of the corners of the emergency rooms.

It's started up again now -- throats being cut, etc.

"Press conference." S__t.

If I see one more officious "reverend" (let alone a whole phalanx of them in their fine topcoats) on TV demanding things and holding up pictures of children while all the young men in their neighborhood are out slinging or shooting or snatching Iphones, I'm going to scream.

They have zero credibility, and are laughable and ridiculous -- and there are so very many of them, each unknown "activist" and "community leader" being famous from here all the way down to the corner.

As 1:33 said, please just shut up. All of you.

First of all, it's not a CBS show, it's being shown on Fox.
And it's not called "Chicago Cop", it's called "Chicago Code." And if any of you saw the first episode Monday night, you're probably still laughing at that shit.
It has got to be one of the all time WORST cop series shows to ever grace non-cable TV. As great and exciting as "The Shield" was, this one ISN'T (although it is produced by the same person). Boring.
Major roles totally miscast. A female police Supt. who says tough words, but doesn't intimidate anyone. A Detective who 'doesn't like profanity.' And says this over. and over. and over. A double murder near the Buckingham Fountain that looks like a photo shoot for models. I could go on, but you get the picture. I don't know that detective who works out of Area 5 who is a paid consultant for this show, but the best thing he can do to salvage what's left of his reputation as a 'paid expert' in police matters is to have his name immediately removed from the credits. Yes, it's that bad. Embarrassingly bad.

J-Fled is having a retirement party? Where would it be held? Are there any phone booths left in Chicago? Unless the Mayor put this together and strongarmed his Democratic flunkie supporters to buy into it, I can't see many people paying a dime to attend such a sham event, celebrating the tenure of a man known to most intelligent people as having been the worst police supt. of the last century. I'm just curious as to where this event is going to be held, and who is going to be in attendance (or if it's closed invite only, which is what I suspect). Any of you house mice at Fort Fellatio who have the 411 on this, please post it here.

And of a related topic: Does a day go by when Weis ISN'T on one of the local TV or radio stations here, shamelessly trying to rebuild his image as a man of action, a planner & thinker? I didn't think so either.
He needs to give it a rest, everyone knows the truth concerning his incompetence.

i wonder if that PAX 501 from back in January of
2009 would hold any water in court when Jfart put in writing the promotional projection for 2009 of 85 Dets. Being made that year. If I recall correctly, he states that the city and department had agreed on this number... If any lawyers care to chime in? My point is that if they have only made approx. 240 off the list so far then would those (85 x 20% merit-cloutorious)= 68 off the list, legit, have any recourse against the city/ department since it was put in writing as an agreement by city and department back in 2009 and no detectives have materialized from this signed document by Jfledness.... The Pax 501 is archived on the department computers under "pax 501" on home screen.... Don't worry, if it magically disappears, I already made plenty if copies of this signed document and proclaimation.. Any insight, any one?

Aargh. Chicago Code, not Chicago Cop. The awful thing is, I originally wrote Chicago Way, and tried to fix that.

In any event, I was not impressed by the first episode. How the heck you can do a show about Chicago and not even whisper the word "mayor" is beyond me.

Concur with Anonymous at 9:51 pm. Nothing special about it, and nothing that clearly says "Chicago PD", as I know it from SCC and other sources.

i wonder if that PAX 501 from back in January of
2009 would hold any water in court when Jfart put in writing the promotional projection for 2009 of 85 Dets. Being made that year. If I recall correctly, he states that the city and department had agreed on this number... If any lawyers care to chime in? There is absolutely no reason why anyone should have to work for an employer who lies.

Your legal remedy is to quit your job. The 13th Amendment to the US Constitution prevents the city from forcing you to work here.

"Does a day go by when Weis ISN'T on one of the local TV or radio stations here, shamelessly trying to rebuild his image as a man of action, a planner & thinker? I didn't think so either.
He needs to give it a rest, everyone knows the truth concerning his incompetence."

Yeah, it's senseless. Clean out your desk and go.

At least the bastard has a desk. An officer was killed changing clothes out on the street because he couldn't even get a locker. I guess the money was spent on a shiny red stapler for the Predictive Analysis Unit.

That was on Jody's watch. That is how we will remember him.

RE all the JFLed media hoopla:

He's looking for publicity and priming himself for his next disasterous gig. Hear he's thrown in a resume for a top security spot that has to do with professional sports.
