Good Enough for Fido...
Johnnie Baston, a man convicted of killing a Toledo store owner, became the first person executed in Ohio with a drug that is often used to euthanize pets and other animals.
Baston, 37, died at 10:30 a.m. local time on Thursday at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, Ohio, according to JoEllen Smith, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Baston, who was convicted of the 1994 killing of Chong Mah, is the ninth person executed in the U.S. in 2011.
Lethal injection executions in Ohio have previously used sodium thiopental. But Hospira Inc. of Illinois said in January it would stop making the drug altogether after Italy, where it planned to move production, objected because the European Union has banned the death penalty.
So Ohio is now using pentobarbital, a barbiturate, according to Smith.

I have worked for vets in my younger days and put many many animals to "sleep". It is ""the"" way to go and is too easy for these pos's to go away from society as the law dictates.
It's too bad Quinn doesn't break a leg so he can go the same way as a nag at the race track.
OT former PO's from TRU where stripped last night for a ticket scandal. There is talk that officers will lose their job!!! The two PO's who most believe wrote the tickets did not even get a CR#!!! way to fuck your fellow officers.

I'm with you on the dogs. They deserve the best all the way to the end.
On the murderers, fire would be cruel and unusual punishment. Besides with price of gas, it wouldn't be fiscally responsible.

About a quart of bleach should do the trick, and there is never problem finding some.

Now that the state can't kill them, it's time to put them to work!
I hear Illinois has a law that prevents prisoners from doing things like making license plates, etc.
That law was probably put in place so that connected companies could get contracts.
Well if this law does exist, it's time to repeal it and put all of our prisoners to work.
On another thread many people were in support of giving felons a second chance. Well here's an opportunity to give them meaningful job skills for when they get out of the joint.

DAYTON -- The Dayton Police Department is lowering its testing standards for recruits.
It's a move required by the U.S. Department of Justice after it says not enough African-Americans passed the exam.
Dayton is in desperate need of officers to replace dozens of retirees. The hiring process was postponed for months because the D.O.J. rejected the original scores provided by the Dayton Civil Service Board, which administers the test.
Under the previous requirements, candidates had to get a 66% on part one of the exam and a 72% on part two.
The D.O.J. approved new scoring policy only requires potential police officers to get a 58% and a 63%. That's the equivalent of an ‘F’ and a ‘D’.
“It becomes a safety issue for the people of our community,” said Dayton Fraternal Order of Police President, Randy Beane. “It becomes a safety issue to have an incompetent officer next to you in a life and death situation."
“The NAACP does not support individuals failing a test and then having the opportunity to be gainfully employed,” agreed Dayton NAACP President Derrick Foward.
The D.O.J. and Civil Service Board declined Dayton’s News Source’s repeat requests for interviews. The lower standards mean 258 more people passed the test. The city won't say how many were minorities.
“If you lower the score for any group of people, you're not getting the best qualified people for the job,” Foward said.
“We need to work with the youth and make them interested in becoming law enforcement officers and firefighters,” said Beane. “Break down the barriers whether they are real or perceived, so we can move forward in this community.”
The D.O.J. has forced other police departments across the country to lower testing standards, citing once again that not enough black candidates were passing.
The Dayton Firefighter recruit exam is coming up this summer. The chief said it’s likely the passing score for that test will be lowered as well.

The gov campaigned last year on his support of the death penalty. Yet, when he was given the bill, he signed it saying that he had read some books and changed his mind. At a Springpatch press conference a local newsie asked him which books he had read that caused him to change his mind. That question caused the gov to pause and stammer for a few seconds, then replied "The Bible." The newsie followed up with "And what in the Bible changed from when you ran for office and said you supported the death penalty and now?" The gov moved on to the next question without responding.

I saw kids carrying some papers while walking home from school the other day at a well rated grammar school on my beat. Some had a "certificate of achievement" for passing a test. As if that wasn't ridiculous enough those without such phony displays of minor scholastic achievement had certificates from the teacher that declared they were a "much loved member of the class" so they could hang something on their wall too.
These kids wouldn't last 5 minutes with a Catholic nun in a grammar school of say 1958. (that was 3rd grade for me) A nun who handled a class of 60 by herself! And who worked for maybe $50 a month of spending money plus room and board!
We are doomed. Future generations are now being condemned to a life of mediocrity.

50% correct. He stated many times he was going to raise taxes and in fact attempted to do so before the election. Other legislators voted against it before the election, so they would probably get RE ELECTED. Then voted for the tax increase after they were voted in again. The Russians use the tiled room with a floor drain where one round to the back of the head or behind the left ear can be applied, but they don't often do a washdown. They want the future corpse to be fully aware of their coming fate. You have to love those impish Ruskies!
