9/11 Remembrance Ride
- Riding to remember – that’s the focus of one motorcycle club this week. Its members are all firefighters from Illinois and across the globe.
[...], the bikers leave Chicago Tuesday on the “Chicago to New York 9/11 Memorial Ride.” They will head to all three 9/11 crash sites – the site of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the field in Shanksville, Pa., where passengers forced hijacked United Flight 93 to crash.
Chicago Fire Department Lt. Tom Maloney went to Ground Zero in New York after the attacks brought down the World Trade Center towers and the experience changed his life.
That’s why he started this ride nine years ago and his passion is why so many fellow firefighters have joined him.

Was watching the news yesterday (I forget the station) and they called 9-11 the greatest "disaater" that we've ever had, not an attack. Unbelieveable.
Tom Maloneys brother is Jim Maloney, a Lt. on our CPD.
10-1~~~~ ATTENTION TEXAS AND SURROUNDING AREAS.. WE NEED FIREMEN!!!! Begging for retired and any fireman to call number to help. We were short 25 fireman last night. Cannot contain town of Bastrop, 35 miles away...fire is 16 miles long, 6 miles wide, jumped Colorado river, evacuated entire town and also neighborhood called Steiner ranch of 5500* PLEASE EVERYONE REPOST EVEN IF NOT IN TEXAS.. I planned on going until it was put in the C.O. book that time was restricted sept 9, 10 , and 11. you'd think they would of put that order in months ago or even a year ago like they are doing with next years G8 summit. Doesn't help either that we have a JAGOFF Of a Lt. where I come from who is Bi-Polar ( need I say who? and where? ) for Christ sake. it's the 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY for our fallen brotheren of both Police and Fire..... not this city only but our department is a fucking joke of a dept.

The order came from downtown so your watch commander had nothing to do with it.

If you couldn't get furlough furlough during that time I'm pretty sure they were honoring personal days that were put in for those days.
Can't wait to be nauseated by the Aldercreatures and CPD Gold Stars that have done nothing for the Global War on Terror since 9-1 except collect a pay check. Who will mug for the TV!

+++Amen-The bosses just gave you a ribbon and nothing more than another photo op for them. Saw a bunch of cpd gold stars at the Memorial Dat Parade. WTF. Not a one was a vet. This city is a disgrace. Anything for politics

We have no real plans for a 9-11 in Chicago. We are a target and nobody cares Remember this folks save your family first Just wait till NATO
