Economy Continues to Tank

So the job numbers came out.

A net total of zero jobs were created in August. That's the first time since 1945 that the government posted a zero.

And the numbers for June and July were revised downward, which makes us wonder what the numbers are going to show when the August numbers are revised downward, which they invariably will be.

Does anyone know a single person who voted for Obama in 2008 that can look at the economy, the jobs numbers, the stock market, the state of the nation and honestly say, "Yeah, we need four more years of this."?

"Economy Continues to Tank"

In the not so politically correct company we keep, this is called a deepening Depression.

The "Hollow Dude" and his apt and able Daley Inc. henchmen (9.5, axelrod, "heavy brudduh" bill & company) are showing their skill in using weasel words and slippery semantics in a mash-up with fuzzy logic. "Sluggish Economy" is one such of many.

My only question is what alternative we had? I think John McCain was tortured by Hillary Clinton when they were both in the region under the control of the ChiComs during the Vietnam era. Were there any other Republicans running who were worth considering? Romney? hahahahah.

These guys are all owned by the same folks (banks, the military-industrial complex, George Soros/Bill Gates/Warren Buffett etc.), and there is literally almost no substantive difference between mainstream-acceptable candidates of either party.

These days things look horrible for the public sector, but some parts of the private economy have actually recovered nicely the past few years.

I'll put a pretty obnoxious suggestion out here for a few to make fun of. If/when the S&P goes through this year's low at 1101 or approaches it in the coming weeks, it will actually be the last leg of the bear. The market moves to new highs afterwards, and the easiest evidence you have is the tech economy recovering. I'm now part of it, and its right in front of me every day. Government workers and retirees on the other hand, are probably pretty screwed going forwards. I'm pulling for all of you.

Have you been following the Gibson Guitar fiasco? Google it.

Gibson Guitars is one of the last Made in America manufacturers. They employ between 700~800 USA workers.

The DOJ raided their factories recently, confiscated a million dollars in materials and the CEO is clueless and can only speculate as to the reason why he has been targeted because the DOJ is silent and there has been no charges.

The DOJ supposedly told Gibson's CEO that he should off-shore the work and he wouldn't have this problem. Can you believe it!! There's you American job creation.

Unbelievable.

Like Operation Fast and Furious is there any government agency that is working for the US taxpayers?

Immigration is letting Illegal immigrants in left and right. That doesn't work.

The SEC, the OCC, is and has been along with other Federal agencies ignoring the ongoing banking frauds with mortgages and the related credit default swaps. That doesn't work. No-one even charged with a crime let alone prosecuted

The ATF is letting thousands of guns walk into and out of Mexico and they are being used against us.

The FDA is protecting us from re-importing prescription drugs, making a mockery out of free trade... and speaking of free trade Medicare is then blocked by Washington from having the ability to negotiate prescription drug bulk purchases and then the political apparatus points out that we cannot continue to pay for Medicare. Gee I wonder why? That doesn't work.

Homeland security you would think would be helping to protect our borders from illegal entry however there presence seems to be more concerned about protecting the commercial airline industry. Like how can we have an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants inside the country not knowing who they are, where they are or what they are up to and it's endorsed by the president of the USA as okay. Yeah we don't know who you are or where you are from but when you listen to the leaders ALL OF THEM are only here to make a better life for themselves by doing the jobs that Americans do not want to do.

This propaganda is jaw dropping. Is anyone accountable for anything?

In spite of all the hoopla about prior months creating this or that many jobs the fact of the matter is that should you venture over to the bls.gov website and look at the historical stats on the number of people age 16 and over, we have no more people employed today then we did back about six years ago.

All those new entrants to the workforce from population growth and immigration over the last six years are sitting idle.

We can only fake GDP numbers and tax revenue growth for so long before everything goes to hell.

From the West Orland News Online:

"White House Jobs Czar, GE CEO Immelt Moves Jobs to China

Jeffrey Immelt, the head of Barack Obama’s highly touted “Jobs Council”, is moving even more GE infrastructure to China. GE makes more medical-imaging machines than anyone else in the world, and now GE has announced that it “is moving the headquarters of its 115-year-old X-ray business to Beijing”. Apparently, this is all part of a “plan to invest about $2 billion across China” over the next few years. But moving core pieces of its business overseas is nothing new for GE. Under Immelt, GE has shipped tens of thousands of good jobs out of the United States. Perhaps GE should change its slogan to “Imagination At Work (In China)”.

If the very people that have been entrusted with solving the unemployment crisis are shipping jobs out of the country, what hope is there that things are going to turn around any time soon?
A recent article on the Huffington Post documented how GE has been sending tens of thousands of good jobs out of the country….
As the administration struggles to prod businesses to create jobs at home, GE has been busy sending them abroad. Since Immelt took over in 2001, GE has shed 34,000 jobs in the U.S., according to its most recent annual filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. But it’s added 25,000 jobs overseas.
At the end of 2009, GE employed 36,000 more people abroad than it did in the U.S. In 2000, it was nearly the opposite.
GE is supposed to be creating the “jobs of tomorrow”, but it seems that most of the “jobs of tomorrow” will not be located inside the United States.
The last GE factory in the U.S. that made light bulbs closed last September. The transition to the new CFL light bulbs was supposed to create a whole bunch of those “green jobs” that Barack Obama keeps talking about, but as an article in the Washington Post noted, that simply is not happening….

Rather than setting off a boom in the U.S. manufacture of replacement lights, the leading replacement lights are compact fluorescents, or CFLs, which are made almost entirely overseas, mostly in China.

But GE is far from alone in shipping jobs and economic infrastructure out of the United States. For example, big automakers such as Ford are being very aggressive in China. Ford is currently “building three factories in Chongqing as part of $1.6 billion investment that also includes another plant in Nanchang”.

Today, China accounts for approximately one out of every four vehicles sold worldwide. The big automakers consider the future to be in China."

Buy American and Vote!

Also OT
A George Soros backed initiative for a Brazilian oil company drilling off-shore there received $2 billion dollars of tax payers money from the US creating thousands of jobs there. In the meantime, permits for US oil companies to do the same here are being held up. These are good paying jobs and the oil and money would stay in the US.

Dude, no politician can bring the economy back by spending money, or any other acts under their control.

People aren't spending money because they don't trust a fucking sole any longer, and why should they?

Throwing money into the system just gives people more money to stash away and not spend, it increases jobs by exactly nothing.

Just remember - as the economy "continues to tank", dream on as to any substantial raise.

We are in a depression and just having a job is a good thing.

Complain about what you have and what you are not getting, then think about what would happen if you lost your job completely and had to take a job that paid 50%-66% less (and less benefits). Think about that REAL hard.

That's what has been happening in the private sector to people that have a lot more education than most of you (advanced degrees, MBAs, etc)

The economy is tanking? This whole country is tanking.

9/03/2011 12:05:00 AM

Shame on you and your words. If you think I voted for Obama you're wrong. Yet here I am unemployed and hating it for the HELL that it is.

Listen to the numbers!! ZERO jobs means ZERO jobs. If you honestly think the majority of unemployed people got here because we want to be paid $1540 a month instead of the $3,500 to $5,500 a month plus benefits we were earning, you are WRONG. Now take $550+ of the $1540 away to pay for Cobra, and that leaves under $1,000 a month to pay for rent or mortgage, food, utilities. It does not add up to fine living. It's a downward spiral of mounting debt that adds up to a miserable existence and dependency on others like never before except in a depression.

Walk a mile in our shoes that now have holes in them...

The reality is:
1. We work our asses off in the private sector just as much as you
2. We eat lunch at our desks while we work or don't even stop to eat because we are now doing the work of more than one person because the company let the other employees go.
3. The 40-hour work week/comp time is a thing of the past-the more we work, the more we work. We don't get furloughs. We get exhausted, burnt out and sad.
4. And yet we work harder and harder, shouldering more and more responsibilities because we know there are about 2,000 unemployed folks knocking on our one door EAGER AS HELL to take our one job and put us BACK in the unemployment line. AGAIN. And when they succeed they do it by offering to do our job for less pay, even NO PAY, because THEY are just as desperate as us to get a foot in the door to a job that might eventually offer pay and benefits! And maybe they are living with mommy or daddy or a boyfriend or girlfriend who provide the support and "couch surfing" while they "intern".
5. READ job ads. MANY job listings out there do not even pay- they say "interns", "commission-only" which adds up to nothing in a rotten economy. They say "fresh college grad" which means minimum wage to do jobs that used to be paid $30-40,000 annually for seasoned workers.
6. We now see, sadly, job listings for jobs we've done our whole lives, paying 1/3 to 1/2 as much as we used to be paid w. 2-3x more duties. And guess what? WE WOULD EVEN TAKE THOSE JOBS IF WE COULD EVEN GET A JOB OFFER which most of us are not getting because there are not enough jobs. ZERO JOBS means what it says.
7. Companies don't even bother to respond to the close to 1000 applications we've sent them w. tediously prepared cover letters- ALL IGNORED.
8. Companies we interview with do not even bother to send rejection notifications- even after really great interviews!
9. The truly qualified are the worst off because the folks we are being interviewed by feel threatened by how qualified we are and see hiring us as dangerous to THEIR job security.
10. VOILA! THIS is how the rich get richer and the middle class is becoming poor.

OPEN your eyes! We middle class, college-educated, well-qualified, fairly intelligent, respectable, law-abiding citizens with just as good work ethic as any cop in this city- God bless you all- are losing our jobs/living a degraded lifestyle that is humiliating. We are forced to depend on help from government and family that we don't want to depend on because they are suffering depressed incomes as well.

WE ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN YOU COPS NOW BEING THREATENED BY RAHM'S BLOOD-SUCKING AGENDA.

WE unemployed in the private sector would give the world to just get back our jobs and our middle-class lifestyles.

GIVE US OUR JOBS BACK. PLEASE!!

The true unemployment figure is around 21%. The "official" figure does not count those who have stopped looking for jobs, those who are working at menial or part time jobs because they cannot find jobs in which they can use their true job qualifications, or those who are self-employed or own their own small businesses, such as insurance brokers and agents, and the owners of small construction firms etc, who are not able to get unemployment benefits. In short. it's worse. much worse. than the government and the main stream media are telling you, and going downhill faster by the day. We're living on the surface of a bubble sustained by bullshit by our governments and the big international banking industry, and the bubble mis going to burst sooner or later.

Barring complete economic collapse Obama isn't going to be easy to beat.

Right now the main GOP candidates are either bat shit crazy or just weird. They need to find someone like a Ronald Reagan who can run from the right and yet not scare the hell out of people.

The problem is the handful of sane GOP candidates probably can't win the nomination. God forbid you suggest evolution is true and that the government had no business in peoples bedrooms.

So GOP either get sane or watch Obama be reelected and then move to Idaho with your guns and your survival gear.

XOXOXOXO

Sane GOP'er

I'm on unemployment right now, in my first extension and have sent out over 1000 resumes & job applications, w/out 1 interview. In my last job I was replaced by someone 15 years younger who is paid $10,000 less and is single with no kids so the health insurance pool is cheaper.

I've been woring for over 40 years, since I was in high school. I can't get a government job because i don't have enough working years left to get a pension. I've have a good education, speak another language but I'm competing for low wage jobs with people who come with tax credits and special programs

So hey, 12:05 am, let me know where there's a job for me, I can start tomorrow.

The Great Bank Robbery

2011-09-02

The Great Bank Robbery

NEW YORK – For the American economy – and for many other developed economies – the elephant in the room is the amount of money paid to bankers over the last five years. In the United States, the sum stands at an astounding $2.2 trillion for banks that have filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Extrapolating over the coming decade, the numbers would approach $5 trillion, an amount vastly larger than what both President Barack Obama’s administration and his Republican opponents seem willing to cut from further government deficits.

That $5 trillion dollars is not money invested in building roads, schools, and other long-term projects, but is directly transferred from the American economy to the personal accounts of bank executives and employees. Such transfers represent as cunning a tax on everyone else as one can imagine. It feels quite iniquitous that bankers, having helped cause today’s financial and economic troubles, are the only class that is not suffering from them – and in many cases are actually benefiting.

Mainstream megabanks are puzzling in many respects. It is (now) no secret that they have operated so far as large sophisticated compensation schemes, masking probabilities of low-risk, high-impact “Black Swan” events and benefiting from the free backstop of implicit public guarantees. Excessive leverage, rather than skills, can be seen as the source of their resulting profits, which then flow disproportionately to employees, and of their sometimes-massive losses, which are borne by shareholders and taxpayers.

In other words, banks take risks, get paid for the upside, and then transfer the downside to shareholders, taxpayers, and even retirees. In order to rescue the banking system, the Federal Reserve, for example, put interest rates at artificially low levels; as was disclosed recently, it also has provided secret loans of $1.2 trillion to banks. The main effect so far has been to help bankers generate bonuses (rather than attract borrowers) by hiding exposures......

(much more at the above link -- our tax dollars bailing out the elite class)

The only way this is going to be resolved is to completely ELIMINATE outside influence of the Government.

No more deals for businesses. No more tax breaks for businesses. No more PACS who collect millions and donate to sway elections.

Let's get back to Government OF, BY and FOR the people - the way it is written into the Declaration of Independence and was originally intended by the Founding Fathers.

Economy continues to tank? You need to google Solyndra, a CA based maker of solar panels that went BK last week. $535Mil in stimulus money, Obama picked this company for the taxpayer "investment" and gave a big speech there in 2010 touting this is the future of American business and green jobs. It seems like a year later they blew through the money and now 1100 people lose their jobs because as they claim, too many government regulations and too small of a market for their solar panels. This is what happens when you let government pick winners and losers and do not allow the market place to function. Did I mention a number of Solyndra investors were also contributors to the 2018 Obama campaign? Lets follow the money, how much did they actually lose when this company went bankrupt? Tippsville Sneed, the economy will continue to tank as long as Obama remains president because he and his people do not believe in a market driven economy. They continue to believe the government drives the economy. Freakin idiots. Buy Fords. Stay safe coppers. We at least as either citizens or cops will all be broke together :-D

Holy fuck! I am old enough to remember how you gop folks talked about that nut Reagan before he got elected. A few years later you shut up.

Republicans in people's bedrooms? The God Damn democrats are in every other room in the house and they're telling you what to do, not trying to, they're doing it. The car in your garage has more EPA democrat nonsense on it than ever and they're mandating more mpg and that car you buy will weigh about as much as a scooter when they're through. If you hit a good-sized dog you might be injured. Regulations on lawn mowers, snow blowers, the light bulbs that are a toxic hazard in every room in the house. The toilets that don't flush shit down the drain unless you flush 3 times, the shower heads that won't spray enough water to get the soap off of you, the faucet in the sink that takes forever to wash your hands. The AC unit, refrigerator in your house that they made less efficient and more expensive via the freon regulations. Democrat regulations preventing drilling for domestic oil, regulations on natural gas making it more expensive to heat your home and more and more regulations on your electricity making it so fucking expensive to turn on a light you'll be sitting in the dark soon because you won't be able to afford to throw the switch. The democrats that scream you shouldn't use toilet paper to clean your ass. Don't tell me about republicans in the bedroom and you don't see the democrats in every other room? Their constant harping about what you eat, whose fucking business is it if you desire to eat a burger and drink a coke? Don't tell me about the health care costs, it's none of your fucking business!

To the last guy with the employment problem, yes I do have a job, but I haven't always been a cop. I have worked several menial jobs that I worked hard at and became a supervisor and made ok money after a couple of years. But, but I went to college! Oh well, that fast food restaurant or security company just might hire someone with some sense and an education. But that's not my field! Can you get a job in your field? Uh, no. So take what you can get. There are no guarantees in life except death and taxes. I wonder how many million illegal aliens have a job here and they shouldn't be working here. Hmmmmm,,, the entitled government worker?

After reading your comment, (and I won't add any expletive) I hope they give you a 10% decrease in pay and make you pay more of your portion for healthcare as a "cost-cutting" measure for the City.

That would be an EASY adjustment compared to what I have seen many of my friends go through. YOU have NO idea.

Don't whine when the City budget cuts hit YOUR salary. Your simplemindedness of "just go get what you can" is the EXACT REASON that many who have gotten laid off or a huge decrease in pay in their industry (if they are one of the lucky ones) think that YOU get paid too much. We cannot afford six-figure police officers.

Who do you think pays your salary? And your platinum pension plan?

If someone has to take "whatever job there is" and it means a 50-66% cut in pay and benefits what makes YOU insulated from getting a pay cut??

Again, with people "taking whatever jobs they can get" as you say - how are we going to sustain YOUR platinum salary and benefits??????

We are going to have to CUT YOUR salary. BIG TIME.

Wake up, Bozo!

Reality check - money doesn't grow on trees to pay government workers either. Now we'll see how good YOU do. AND - you don't have to stay a cop - go out and find something else as you suggest. Just be ready to take a HUGE pay cut.

All of you better wake up and smell the coffee. This sinking economy is catching up to the government worker (who hasn't made any sacrifice as far as most are concerned). Wait til YOU have to face some real money cuts.

Welcome to the club.

SCC didn't post this-I did, and it was meant tongue in cheek. So you are going to give me a history lesson? I went to school on the GI bill in the 70's. "men with weapons training"? What the hell does that mean, if the GI bill wasn't there we all would have gone off? Listen goof, after the war (and it's almost any war) jobs were aplenty. The returning GI's needed housing, so construction boomed. They also needed cars, clothes, food and consumer goods, which led to factory jobs, agricultural opportunities and jobs in the service industry (fixing the cars, serving the food and selling the consumer goods). I would guess that you were not in the service so you don't understand the benefits of the GI bill. Or the skill set that former military bring to any employment. Skills like discipline, the ability to make decisions and to lead.

And remember this, from day one, the GI bill was EARNED, not given

I just want to know this: when the economy was booming, and it was for a long time, and you and your fellow non government employees were making money in construction, or the market, or in sales or whatever the fuck you do, and we were working for much less than you (I started in 1985 at about 26G) were you thinking we should make more too? Because sure as shit as soon as things go south and you are not so solvent, then we are making too much. The old I'm suffering so you should too. The teats that we took to come on these jobs (police and fire) were offered quite often. You could have come on too, but no! Who wants to work midnights for 26G a year? WE DID. with the promise that after doing what we do for 20 or 30 or 35 years we would get a pension, a pension I'd like to point out we pay into. It is not a gift, we earned it and helped fund it. Yes you funded it too, by paying taxes, but that's a deal that you make to live here, or anywhere. I'm sorry that you are having a tough time, and I have some relatives and friends in the same boat, but don't piss on me because you are suffering.

Listen you fucking jaggoff and listen good..........we contribute and have been for years to our pension unlike Wisconsin. It's our money we are receiving when we retire. Lets get something straight here.........I have contributed and sacrificed more out of my 13years on this job than you and your whole family ever will. I would rather pay an increase in my taxes to people who day in and day out protect and save the lives of others so that after giving 30 years of service they could have a decent retirement......not an extravagant one like you think we have.......just a decent one instead of giving it to welfare blood sucking people and the dillusional liberal democrat fucks of this city. What I will not do is sit back and listen to Bozos like you constantly put us down because of your life choices. We have had a 2% increase each contract which gets wiped out everytime by taxes all the while your elected officials continue to give themselves and their workers nice raises. You are bitching about Police salaries yet we have over 50 alderman working a part-time job making 6 figures while they work their own full time job yet I do not hear a peep from you. You can leave the city anytime you want to find a better life jaggoff but im not allowed to. Too bad if you did'nt choose a path in Law Enforcement but I did. I know the dangers and perils that come along with it and I accepted that and was ready for it but what I was'nt prepared for is the publics view and actual distain for us. I didnt start my career thinking I would be anywhere close to being a millionare, but in that same turn I did'nt think I would be undercut by my city, it residents and politians and treated like shit. I want to ask you what field/line of work you are in that you seem so inclined to compare us with??????? Where do you live???? How old are you??? You only say that because you have a job. My brother has master's in electrical engineering and 15 years experience. He is out of work for 19 months. While the middle class struggles, the bankers, ceo's and hedge fund managers are doing just fine (via our tax dollars).

I'll take any job, but even the retail stores or fast food places don't want me. I'm not minority or part of a privileged class that gets special employer tax credits along with the link card. My age and experience are held against me, "oh you'll leave when you get a better job" Well yeah, because this is an 80% pay cut and my mortage & utilities didn't go down when I lost my job,

If I get a minimum wage job, it will be less than I'm getting on unemployment, but I'll take it to work.

I registered over 8 months ago to try to get training money, to pick up skills so I could open my own business, but I haven't been called because there's no money available.

I hope that you and your family don't have to go through losing your job and then trying to find a job that pays 80% less than you were making, and you can't even get that.

On my block on the NW side, the only people doing ok are the ones with government jobs or pensions. In every other house, one or both breadwinners are unemployed. I know that everyone can't work for the government, but again tell me where the jobs are, I'm ready to work and I will.

If you believe that the US economy will ever actually go back to where it was...you are fooling yourself.
The economy and standard of living we have known and squandered is finished.

Lets look at the facts....We are no longer a producer nation. We have lost so much in manufacturing jobs, that even if we were to re-start our manufacturing base, the costs associated with re-tooling and updating equipment that has been sitting idle for years would negate any gains that would have been realized.

Our factory workers would have to be re-trained on the newer equipment and the associated loss in productivity until job proficiency is achieved would negate the rest of any perceived profits.

With this in mind, it becomes clear that the answer does not lie in the manufacturing sector.

Can the government create the jobs?
Sure.... if you listen to the politicians!

The latest catchphrase making its rounds is federal job creation.
Truth be told, the government can not create enough long term jobs to save the economy. The last time the government was called on to create jobs was back in the 1930's and 40's with the CCC and WPA.
Even then with all the huge federal projects such as the building of Hoover Dam with its employment of 10's of thousands and the Golden Gate Bridge employing nearly the same, the economy faltered until the War!

It took World War II to bring back the US economy. That effort was achieved by re-tooling existing factories to produce goods for the war effort. The government funded these operations and overnight every American who wanted to work had a job.

Could it happen again...could a war save us?

Well...actually, no it could not...and here's why.
We are already involved in 3 or 4 wars (I lost track).

Factories are no longer needed or able to convert to manufacture goods for the war effort because these operations are now in the hands of a few mega defense contractors such as Haliburton, Raytheon, Boeing, and General Dynamics, etc. or as they are better known..."The Military Industrial Complex".

Sure, the government doles out contracts to minor suppliers but nothing even remotely close being able to employ the masses.

So what will happen?
Other than anarchy in the streets that will become the norm in the near future, look for the cost and standard of living to continue downward until we are able to sustain ourselves on minimum wage paychecks, and government entitlement programs.

What does that mean?
Well I figure a house will have to sell for about $25000
New cars for $6000 or so
Week worth of food for $50

It will be disastrous for many, and when you add racial hatreds, drug addiction and failed multiculturalism, you get the perfect storm of a Mad Max future.

I have worked for minimum wage. I have been saving for my retirement for 40 years. I can handle a pay cut, I'd rather not, but I spend less than I earn, always. Everytime I got a new job, guess what, I got a pay cut. When I went to work for the government, I got a whale of a pay cut. The next two government jobs I got, a pay cut, but a better opportunity for future earnings.

When I was in the private sector, I trained people with masters degrees to do jobs a 3 pay grades below mine. I had less than 2 years of college, lots of experience, 18 when I changed careers, but I learned that you must attend training programs and continue going to school to remain relevant in your job. I worked over 50 hours per week and attended college regularly.

I happen to like my job and I will be fine. The only worry I have is the pension. The reason I have saved for my retirement is because I suspect that retirement will be rough. Hell, if I have to, I'll get a job with the carts at Wal Mart, but I have other skills that I can make a few dollars with because as we all must do, I have kept my options open.

All of us that have jobs pay taxes and I for one, am disturbed by your democrat attitude that by screwing me, you will be made whole. It doesn't happen like that. I root for all to be successful, just keep your options open, listen to what these politicians say, they give you a clue for what they're about to do to you. And finally, if you think that Bush or Obama have the prescriptions for what ails us, you're deluded. We need capitalism, not crony capitalism.

I'm sorry, I've always equated eating with working and I don't intend on going hungry.

The police are sort of like the miltary, they're needed but most of you won't do it. Well, we did and the pay is what it is. As long as the economy sucks, there will be pressure on all wages, including ours. I fully expect many surprises in our next contract. I'll just have to make do and be alert so I know what to expect. The difference between you and me is that I enjoy my job and will do so after the screwing we're about to get. I won't like the cuts, but it's tough out there. I see the storm coming and am planning accordingly.

I'm afraid that the economy, as terrible as it is, won't be enough to defeat Obama in 2012.

Many people who voted for Obama did so because he is a president that gives and gives. All those who want "free" health care for all, more welfare, etc., are not going to want to give it up, and will vote for Obama in 2012. It doesn't matter that the economy continues to be dismal and he can't create jobs...many who voted for him in 2008 (and will again in 2012) don't work anyways.

Also the big-money backed Democratic party, Obama's spin team, and the ultra-liberal US media will decimate any Republican candidate, just as they did with McCain and Palin in 2008. It will be very difficult to fight the Democrats for votes when the Republican candidate for 2012 is dragged through the mud in every newspaper and television station in the US.

I hope I am wrong, but it will still be an uphill battle for any Republican candidate, no matter how bad things get in the US.
