Funny E-Mail

This is some twisted logic.

The mayor is allegedly looking to cut the medical roll, despite the fact that the CPD uses far less medical time than most other government agencies and almost all of the private sector.

At the same time, the governor is shutting down mental health sites across the state. These people have to go somewhere and more than a few might end up in Chicago, probably hanging out at police stations.

Meanwhile, HQ (DTEB) puts out a missive telling everyone how the homeless can camp out in our lobbies, stinking up the joint, sharing diseases and releasing any number of parasites into our work spaces.

Isn't this going to make more people sick?

Perhaps the FOP should file an OSHA grievance.

Remember the H1-N1 speech?

It's already here. Trying to do anything about it now would be like locking the door after the bed bugs got in!

It will take a crisis like an entire district being quarantined for something to make people think.

Happy retirement, Tom Nangle!. You deserve your own topic here tonight. In lieu of that, I'm posting a big THANK YOU for always being there for us, no matter what.

And, ever the gentleman, you turned your speech into kudos for everyone else. Enjoy your retirement, sir. I can't think of ANYONE more deserving of a long, happy, healthy one, than you.

ps: Phil Cline, you made the entire house cry a few tears tonight, for all the right reasons.

Everyone protest by wearing the paper surgical type mask when your inside and these walking germ/stink bombs come in. It will put citizens on alert and the city can't tell you not to protect yourself or it's a phone call to CDC, OSHA and a grievance....

If ever there was a man in need of mental health care it is that fat bafoon of a man who is pretending to be our Governor – the troll they elected by vote fraud.

What did they double our income tax for ?

Oh yeah, to keep the gravy train of corruption going ……..

To say nothing of the extra security that will be needed at the cities libraries, museums, zoos, etc. They become a haven for the mentally ill when, after being thrown off public trans, they run out of places to meander. If elected officials really wanted to save some money they'd place these poor bastards in the hospitals they belong in and save the millions upon millions spent following them around and trying to keep them on proper meds. Quinn didn't just become another asshole, he became their leader.

Wow, this guy (Rahm) is not stupid at all just looks it. Great strategy to get coppers sick and have them hit the medical. On another note, we should only take a few cleaner "clients" bums off the street and seriously redirect the rest to the nearest CFD as this directive pertains to CPD and CFD. Even can't kick these bastards out. Fuck it, I'm not a hater but I'm down to share the misery, after all we are all in this together!

Thirty-one years ago this past August I came down with pnuemonia. At the time I was a lean mean fighting machine and running three miles a day. I will always believe I picked up the bug from some s-head or contaminated crime scene. The kicker was that after being hospitalized for a week and two additional weeks on the medical, my efficiency was lowered quite a bit for using the medical.

The last time the state closed a number of mental health facilities in 1986 the number of crimes committed by those released shot up dramatically. As a result, the county jail, designed to hold about 9000 inmates, wound up with 12,000 inmates leading to all sorts of liability suits against the county and corrections officers for failure to provide adequate conditions of confinement. Cook County Jail is still the largest mental health facility in the state. At least 25% of all inmates have been diagnosed with mental problems and are on some form of medication. With Quinn closing more mental health facilities, you will see a spike in crime and an increase in the jail population. In addition, there will be an increased threat to safety for all citizens and a threat to LEOs. Since many of the releasees will be seriously disturbed, you must be even more cautious in approaching anyone now as a PO because you will have no idea if the person is completely irrational and possibly homicidal.

If he implements this policy, he is opening himself up to having to pay more money. He will have to pay for each employee for workman's comp, which will cost A LOT more then the present medical plan. Rahm do your homework before opening your mouth.

Most police do not misuse the medical. Most of them go to work with a cold and work their full shift. Go ahead Rahm open yourself up to a very expensive medical plan.

Send them to 35th & Michigan at 2AM and let's see what see happens.

Have some street scum taken to the hospital, HOSPITAL RUN SHEET FILLED OUT and come back with anti-biotic resistant TB or meningococcal meningitis.

Maybe the whole watch is exposed.

One word___ Q U A R E N T I N E!

They would do it in a heartbeat for a school. They would not admit kids until every surface was decontaminated by a crew in white bunny suits.

Shut a station down for 48 hours, get it on the news, cost them money and maybe something will change to protect us.

Fill out those HOSPITAL RUN SHEETS.

OR:

Scumbag comes up to Desk Officer, "Office, dat guy in da corner, he ain't moved in a couple days. I think he dead."

Desk Officer, "He's all right. He's just a sound sleeper."

Next day.

Scumbag to Desk Officer, "Boss, I-I really tink dat guy in da corner be dead."

Desk Officer rolls his eyes but goes around to the corner and notices the order and the flies. He nudges the lying figure with the toe of his shoe and gets no response.

Desk Officer mutters, "oooooh shit."

Write your own headline for that.

Why not just make City Hall a main place for the hapless and homeless to stay during the hrash winter months. There are plenty of bathrooms and offices they can stay in. Rahm has a nice big office. Fact is the city doesn't want anyone to see these unfortunates so they spread them around to the districts. God forbid anyone would see we can't even take care of our own homeless when we spend untold $Billions all over the world.

Funny???

Do I amuse you?

Do you mean funny like in HA HA HA?

Or do you mean funny like that quezzy feeling when some puke coughs in your face.

Do you mean funny like that smell in the squad car that you can't quite put you finger on but make you wonder what the hell the previous watch was up to?

Do you mean funny like that feeling in the pit of your stomach when the dispatcher tells you, "Go in and see the Watch Commander, NOW!."

Do you mean funny like when like when you see Pookie with his Gangsta-Pants on and think all he needs is a purple frizz-wig and a cherry tomato nose.

Do you mean funny like reading one of DTED's (Downtown Ernie Brown's) epistles and try to translate it from the original Ebonics to English?

Do your mean funny like to the jokes told by Fathers Nangle and Brandt, Rabbi Moshe Wolf, Superintendent Cline and others at Father Nangle's retirement party last? (They were a scream! Someone made a video of that and if it is ever possible to make a link to that on this blog please do it.)

Or do you mean funny like when Rahm Emanuel says he put 700 more cops on the street?

Is that what you mean by funny?

It ain't so much about closing state facilities as is is about paybacks. Anyone here think it's only a coincidence that 6 of the 7 facilities are in the district of a REPUBLICAN senator?

I asked one of the stinking bums what he was doing locking the door to the "quiet" room at 0030 hrs last week.

He replied "I'm on the entertainment detail and I'm going home now."

Carry on.

People in private sector companies aren't exposed to the diseases we are constantly exposed to and they don't injure themselves too often handling all those dangerous staples and copy machines. Can't compare the two workplaces fairly - not at all.

You are SO wrong, my friend! Private industry does not pay the average employee for unused sick days. You can carry over so many days from one year to the next, and it usually is only one years worth. You have to purchase short term disability insurance out of your pocket. When you leave employment, you are NOT payed for unused sick days and only paid for one years of vacation days. I don't know where you get your information, but i worked in compensation for a few years . The police department has the best deal in town and one that is envied by everyone in private industry: that is, a years worth of sick days and then compensatory time, which is unheard of in private industry and, truth be told, in most police departments around the country. You can argue all you want on why and when these things came about, but virtually NO ONE in the country has these benefits. Homes are being forclosed all around the country, unemployment is at a high, were are just about in a depression and government employees want more ? People are hurting in this country and they will not be on your side. Something will have to give.
