Finnigan, who pleaded guilty and admitted to ordering a hit on another cop, is cooperating with authorities.

this is getting really boring.

Abbate and Finnegan, two jagoffs that have done more damage to this department since the Summerdale scandal.

The knee jerk reactions from these two isolated incidents will be felt for decades. And the ultimate losers will be the citizens who have inherited a neutered police force.

This is over? Wanna bet? Emmanuel and his co-conspirators in the newsmedia will air this story several times in the coming months to portray the rest of us in a bad light. Watch.

Yeah... Finally...

But that doesn't mean the media are going to let anyone have closure on this by any means.

9/08/2011 09:06:00 AM

Closure? You gotta be kidding. There are certain elements in the media and on the left and all over the d*mn place who are going to want to roll in this for years to come.

Remember: Burge did his bad deeds in the '80x and '90s. We're still hearing about them ad nauseum.

The entire mess closes finally? I don't think so. The media will bring up this matter or any other matter of police misconduct over and over again.

12 years... with time served he has 7 left... that is an absolutly pathetic sentence. This guy tried to kill another cop. he should be serving life. Anyone who still stands behind this guy is a fool. If you stand behind him after he wanted to kill one of US then you need to be locked up right next to him. Jerry will get out in 7 years and start his retirement. Yes you heard me correctly, he will RETIRE. Dont think for a second that jerry doesnt have upwards of 250-400 thousand in cash stuffed away somewhere. he will get a nice monday through friday job through his connection(all the sos guys know his connection) and he will go get his cash. this is just a speed bump for jerry. he needs to be locked up for life. If you deny that he didnt do any of the things alleged then you are blind too. he ruined this entire department. now the average guy has to deal with all the bullshit. jerry, fuck off you criminal

from your link...

"Since he was arrested, Finnigan has been held in a federal lockup in downtown Chicago under tight security for his own protection, Barnett said. He characterized Finnigan’s jail conditions as unusually harsh.

Unlike other inmates who can have unlimited showers, Finnigan gets three a week; his phone calls are limited; he can’t have any contact with visitors; he can’t email anyone; he doesn’t have access to TV, and he can’t use the gym, Barnett said."

Judge: `Concerned' about cartel leader in jail in Chicago

[...]

Vicente Zambada is awaiting trial in Chicago on drug-trafficking charges. On Thursday, Judge Ruben Castillo said he was “very concerned” that Zambada hasn't been allowed outside for fresh air in the 18 months since his extradition.

Castillo spoke sternly at times as he addressed prosecutors and the federal jail's warden in court.

Defense attorneys also have complained that their 35-year-old client is held in a 10-by-6 foot cell in complete isolation from other inmates.

Castillo ordered prosecutors to file a response to the complaints.

Zambada appeared in court with his legs shackled but looked relaxed. He smiled and winked at an acquaintance on a spectators' bench as he left.

Quinn to cut 1,900 jobs, close prison in Lincoln

SPRINGFIELD -- Nearly 2,000 state workers and seven state-run facilities are on the chopping block as part of Gov. Pat Quinn's latest budget battle with Illinois lawmakers.

The Chicago Democrat outlined plans Thursday to close the Logan Correctional Center near Lincoln, the youth prison in Murphysboro, the mental health facility in Chester, a developmental center in Dixon and other facilities as part of a strategy to ensure the state has enough money to finish out the fiscal year.

The guy gets 12 years inside and has the nerve to stand up in court and declare he can hold his head up high.

A few more who could hold their head up high: Al Capone, John Gacy, Ted Bundy (except when they were shoving large wads of cotton up his ass prior to his electrocution) , Jeff Dahmer and a few others. I don't know about Medzianowski, think he is still holding his head up high?

Not the original poster here, but you should re-read his post. He said nothing about being charged criminally--he merely commented that another goof has been caught doing something that makes us all look bad.

to all saying that its "just beginning" or its not even close to being over you might want to re read the stories..

"Both state and federal investigators tried to find out from Finnigan and others whether any supervisors knew about the criminal behavior. But the probe failed to go any higher."

"Finnigan and three others were hit with federal charges in April. Seven others had already pleaded guilty to state charges. Finnigan pleaded guilty to both the murder-for-hire plot and tax-related charges stemming from the money he pocketed."

"Thursday after the sentencing, U.S. Attorney Netols acknowledged the case was "effectively complete," saying only that investigators had conducted a thorough investigation."

sorry to tell you, but its all over.. if it wasnt over and they had a better case then jerry would not only be getting 12 years.... he would be getting a deal giving him 25 years instead of life... so sorry to tell you, its over. If the feds had anything on anyone else or any of the bosses it would have dropped at the same time as jerry and co got indicted by the feds. The feds dont gradually indict people... They go out with a bang for the camera and bring in 20 guys at a time to look impressive. If jerry would have shut his mouth about killing a copper and Keith would have shut his mouth They would be pushing a beat car together instead of going to federal prison.

Jerry is a POS! Bottom line! I don't care how many DC's he has received or how great a PO he was! All that is null and void with the shit he pulled! He was sworn to protect people not rob them and certainly not attempt to have one of our own murdered! He is an arrogant POS and I hope some other POS in prison takes "good" care of him!! Rot in Hell! You have brought much discredit to good Chicago Police Officers like me! You are pathetic!

He deserves to have this monkey off his back for good.

Who thinks this is not over? Read the comments from the Feds. If anyone has inside info, bring it on. Or are some of you just hoping to see more people's lives wrecked for the hell of it? A lot of talk but no facts.
