Once Again, a New Record
- Chicago Public Schools officials on Wednesday touted an upswing in first day attendance at most schools this year.
First day attendance numbers on Tuesday rose to 94.7 percent from 92.9 percent last year. CPS officials said it was the highest first day attendance since the district began using a new system four years ago to track students on their first day back.
And it just happened to be during Rahm's first term! The man is a miracle worker - why, just the other day, he promised to make our pensions disappear along with almost $200 million in the police budget.

How about posting the percentages per school/neighborhood?

Oh my, are we seeing are a trend? Better form another committee to see why...
Even better, look at the percentages of "free" breakfasts, lunches, school supplies, field trips, bus rides, armed security, etc, to the schools that have almost none of those...anyone seeing a pattern?

The city did everything except send private limos to each yoots house to bring them to the front door of their school. What I want to see is the attendence numbers for the next week or so. What a joke. Be lucky if half these rats bother to show up for their free lunch.
I wonder where the bribe money Rahm is handing out to the 3 schools that betrayed the Teachers union came from. I thiught the CPS was broke. Guess not. They have plenty of cash hidden away to do the things they want. Emmanuel is such a low life asshole he has to use bribes to get the 3 schools and teachers to do his dirty work. Any surprise here? None. This mutt is a corrupt immoral disgrace and is only getting started. Better pucker up officers!

One question--just HOW does the 'new system' work? What clout hack is responsible for spewing out the numbers? Just remember, numbers can be manipulated.
Rahm's future is looking dim, however, because Obamarama looks like it's going to be meeting its demise next year.

It's all a scam to defraud the government. Since they get money throughout the year based on the percentage of kids that show up on the first day, they just delete as "dropped" any kid that doesn't show up. As soon as they return, usually next Monday, they get added on to the roster again. Simple, huh?

they took away the free rides for the seniors on the cta because they could no longer afford it--- but they are not taking away the free breakfast or lunch at the cps--- the cps finds plenty of money for that but no money for the teachers raises--- momma pulls up with the cadillac escalade and lets out all five of her kids and they all get free everything because she lives the life of poverty--- plenty of money for 22 inch spinners and 2,000 dollar sound system but can't afford to feed her kids---- momma got to be able to get her freak on ya know....

My school teacher wife and the majority of her associates are more than willing to work the extra time and have been saying that the school day must be lengthened. All they ask for is their contractual raise.

Can you believe it , a parent taking a child to school is newsworthy . Doesn't every parent do that , free cta , free breakfast , lunch and agter school care , sounds like gov't is raising some kids in this city.
The pension issue is the most important one the CPD is facing. Never forget that.
The biggest scam going. If someone is a no show/no call on day one, they are placed in an "unenrolled" status for day one. Only those who notified the school they won't be there are counted as absent. The "unenrolled" kids who just didn't bother to show up ate NOT COUNTED as absent!! They simply must "re-enroll" when they do decided to show up. This is a nice way to keep percentages up, as well as scam more state money. But this is not a true measure of how many kids actually did or did not show up on day one.
They are focusing on the wrong set of numbers. Instead of focusing on how many students attend the 1st day of school, they should be worrying about the percentage that ultimately graduates.
I'd be more interested in attendance on the last day of school.
Does anyone know if Rahm walks on water too?
He spent all kinds of time,$$ and energy catering to the ghetto kids to get them to show up for first day of school.
First day attendance really isn't indicative of how many kids will routinely show up for school throughout the year.
Someone should check attendance about 6 weeks from now and see if Rahm is still proud of those numbers.
when I went to Catholic School it probably hovered right around 100% ... fuck these unteachable savages ... give 'em a broom or one of the cardboard things that hold the frenchfries and call it a day ... no, not everyone can be an astronaut. THey lied.

When is this guy gonna wake up. It's the parents responsibility to police their children. I can remember a day when the teacher would crack you upside your head and if you went home and complained you would get it even worse. Bring back the nuns they knew how to take care of business

Now momma wants to have the teacher or nun arrested because "nobody puts there hands on me except my daddy" attitude these fucking kids have. And when daddy and momma hits them they call the police because of child abuse. And when it's said and done nobody puts blame where it started- on the asshole teen/student who did something wrong to deserve the discipline.
