History Repeats in 002
Haven't we been here before? Allegedly dirty tact team members from the Deuce?
- Two Chicago police officers were arrested on federal theft charges after they allegedly stole $5,200 from a man they believed was a drug courier but who in fact was secretly cooperating with federal authorities.
According to the charges unsealed today, federal agents secretly videotaped the theft as Officer Kallatt Mohammed, driving in his personal car, took the cash from the informant last November in the 2700 block of South Vernon Avenue.
The second officer, Sgt. Ronald Watts, later met with the informant and handed him $400 for tipping the officers off to his courier assignment.
So who is going to be the multiple "merit" promoted individual from this 002 District scandal like CW was how many years ago?
And this part is just priceless:
- Both are assigned to the Wentworth District tactical unit. Watts is also the financial secretary for the Chicago Police Sergeants’ union.
Someone better tell the sergeants to count all the money they had left over from the last indicted board member and see if it checks out.

Ain't no amount of money worth going to jail for. Don't these cops see what has been going down in the past. There are so many snitches on the street this game doesn't play anymore. Need more money? Get a second part time job.
Someone better tell the sergeants to count all the money they had left over from the last indicted board member and see if it checks out.

WATTS had no access to any union cash. Only the president AND treasurer together make moves with expenses now.
The problem with the sergeants union is they have 15 positions to fill and out of 1090+ sergeants, NO ONE takes any interest in running for any of these spots unlike the FOP.
Unfortunately they got stuck with a dog like this.
exactly.they really need to clean house in the sergeants union board.another moron in trouble.
Watts and his team from Housing which included Mohammed were dirty over 10 years ago. I'm surprised it took this long for them to get taken down. And I'm really surprised that more of his team didn't get caught up in this indictment.....
Was no secret in housing that watts team was dirty. F-them
that sounds like a good muslim... the charges must be false...
Everyone knew this Sgt has been dirty for years. And since he was hooked up no one did anything about it. Took the G to finally grab him.
I'll bet the shutter speed on a few other 002 District Tactical sphincters was tested upon learning this bit of news.
Good riddance.
Your freedom, career, family and respect for $2600? Really?
scumbags. I hope you two thugs rot in prison. Hey sarge, what goes around comes around right??? To all who think this guy was just set up once and this is isolated to a single incident you are sorley mistaken. This sgt is a PRO at ripping people off.. Its just a shame the department did nothing in the past when all of his beefs were coming in for the past 3 or 4 years of stealing money and running with the gang bangers. He was a straight up pro at robbing the dope man. Every thug in 002 and 021 knows "the sarge" and they also know which day is Tax day. Im glad it finally caught up with him and Im glad the feds got involved... I think the department and IAD kept this guy out on the street when he should have been in handcuffs. I hope they trick and take other mutts on that team down.. believe me, there are others.. especially the team mates. It is a very very dirty team and this is NOT an isolated one time incident. I was cheering when I heard this news. You disgraced us all, and Im glad you can no longer taint our department anymore...thug
The remaining money at the Sgt Association is still safe. Any Sgt knows they can check it out themselves during office hours. The financial secretary has NO AUTHORITY to access to any account, NONE! Never did. This Sgt has only held office less than 30 days. And the treasurer is very good.
This really hurts.. Cameras and feds are all over the place! Its not worth it.. 002 ranger..
"Someone better tell the sergeants to count all the money they had left over from the last indicted board member and see if it checks out".
$$$$$$$$$$
The Feds ought to check out the two sergeants who have made a ton of money from trading stocks using association money.
Someone did not take this secret to the grave.
Not again!! Watching these guys run from the media covering their faces was horrible! More negative ammo for the press and jo jane citizen to hammer us with.. Go bless CPD. Be safe
More from that downtown Fortress of Bullshit
heh.. no, no, no it's about the safety of the chillldren.

Look at all the money you can get if you expand the program eh? Think about it! It's for the safety of the children and if it keeps just one, just one child from falling down than isn't it worth it?
Praise the Mayor!!!
Was working a murder over on Browning many years ago and a few witnesses were terrified of these morons. Their thuggish behavior cost us witness participation, a probable conviction, and the city on the hook for a civil suit. Do not think this behavior doesn't reverberate in many directions.
This was a long time coming. By the way... Can we promote the next candidate off the Sgt's list to take this useless cocksucker's position? I am sure he or she would be thrilled at the chance, act like a professional, and make us proud.
Either your the police or your not. Live by it.
It sounds like the Sgt''s union could be more fucked up than our FOP. That's quite a feat.
Sgt. Watts was the financial secretary for the Sgts PBPA for approximately 30 days. He gained enough signatures and ran unapposed as did most candidates. He had no control of any money. He was the recording financial secretary. This alleged incident had no connection with the PBPA. I'm not defending him just stating the facts.
I hope not to see a flyer that says 10-1 benefit for these guys. I don't like that fact that they have benefits for guys that fucked up on or off duty. That's their problem for being stupid.
lets send merit three times juan morado over there so he can be close to home
two lockers are open now more to come in a few days when they start talking thank god we have merit promotions THANK YOU MAYOR DALEY
could'nt have happened to a better Sgt....as dirty as they come. Hope he gets the max
I wonder if one them took the citronella candle from 02.
Another black eye we cannot afford.
Criminals posing as cops. No wonder everyone hates us...
From a troll: Look, there are going to be a few bad apples in every bunch. Clout hires and merit promotions in a corrupt city and corrupt court system breed this possibility. That is true everywhere and I don't care where you work, even in the Archdiocese. We citizens know this and generally yawn at these stories from the corrupt media. Only the swashbuckling, flamboyant stories from the SOG a number of years ago catch our attention. Frankly, if someone is going bad targeting criminals is better than other people in my view. But when you are jumped on the camera leaving court, simply profess your innocense and walk away. Do not run off. Never run off. One last thing, do not take your wife or anyone else to court with you.
Just FYI..The karma bus rolled into the 002nd District and so now ex Commander GL and retired Lt KM do you believe me now?...PO KM and Sgt RW are under arrest for the very thing I told you they asked me to do with them 4 yrs ago...but my punishment for telling was removal from tact and sent to a beat car...well for that Commammander GL I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART...BTW..I've never been AFRAID to do my job...I've never had the desire to go to prison...
Amen....KM & RW he who laughs last I see will laugh best and I haven't laughed yet!
Men lie...Women lie...Video and Audio Tapes Don't...you two have a PHd in stupidity!!!
Was it an Armenian money train?
Assholes. Thanks for making the rest of us look bad.
Thank you you assholes. Hope the measly amount of money was worth selling your souls and your futures. And thanks for giving the rest of us a black eye. I hope they lock you up and throw away the key.
And for the copper who tried to blow the whistle but was rebuffed, be strong. You're probably going to be interviewed by the Feds and go through hell.
And now CW is an inspector .....wow
When Ida B. Wells was thriving, the "good sahgent" made quite a killing over there. Some would say literally...
Everyone knew precisely what these beatoffs are, yet no one said anything.
The next time the "comments are left open" on some online newspaper and it seems like everyone on earth is trashing the CPD for reasons fair and unfair, medidate on why they feel that way.
Instead of convincing yourselves that they're all just 'shitheads' or they're just 'ungrateful civilians', think long and fucking hard about all the corrupt shit you know is going on in your district or others, but you aren't saying anything about it.
THAT, is why otherwise good people have a negative view of the CPD, THAT is why you are not entitled to cry when you're shit on... and who gets screwed? John Q Patrol, honest, doing his job, shouldering the damaged reputation because nobody in the CPD has the sack to rid your own rotten apples.
Tragic. Just tragic.
At one time wasn't the infamous former 007 Cmdr, AC, the tact lt in 002?
I love how everybody is posting that "everybody" knew they were dirty. Well what did you do about it? Did you call IAD annonymously and give whatever info you had? The FBI also accepts info on an annonymous basis.
tactical lt and XO should be required to review GPS of tactical units to see if they leave district, work a full tour
can i have an event number?
Two comments from a retired guy who was in the deuce during the 1st referenced scandal.
1. Don't rush to judgement. It goes against the presumption of innocence. Not fair and consider the source; the media.
2. Don't be fucking stupid for a few bucks.
Oh, and stay safe.
Like I have said before, these people were never coppers. They were bangers that slipped through the hiring system. They're are still few on this job I wouldn't doubt it. And for these two shit heads, enjoy your time rotting away at club fed you fucking morons
Who will make next weeks scandal.
any relation to the former exempt

Just say NO!!!
The media will use this to hammer all of the good cops on the job.
FOP or someone should get the word out to the media that good cops welcome weeding out the bad cops like these.
Your freedom, career, family and respect for $2600? Really?

2600 x 52 x 10......the mut was dirty for ten plus years...
Sorry to the real blue. Dont you love when the team sells you out for cash and the enemy. Not to mention all the real police service this criminal failed to provide.
Saving thought...he's the enemy on both sides of the bars now..alone cold and lonely. A million dollar skim and the retirement package just became all inclusive. Let's hope the ass banging is free of charge in the gallows. Bad cops suck.
Hey guys, read the federal complaints against these two officers. It's on the Chicago Tribune website. It gives all of the details about how the criminal act occurred.
Good thing is that I move up 2 more slots in seniority department wide
If the posters here are to be believed, its a shame how many people knew about these guys and made no effort to deal with it. Not only is addressing it the right thing to do, just remember when this shit comes up around contract time that you let it happen.
The problem with the sergeants union is they have 15 positions to fill and out of 1090+ sergeants, NO ONE takes any interest in running for any of these spots unlike the FOP.

If you really believe this was a one time deal you are stupid..
Good riddence jerks!
The SGT.'s union really elects some winners. What a fucked up union.
if your from the ghetto just because you have a star now it doesn't always make you act the part...they have gangbangers on this job so its not a shock to me one bit!!!!!
All these commentators saying Watts was dirty for years and it should've happened long ago- F--- You! If your so afraid of the "black eye" you should've done something about it in the past.
Watts, dirty as they come, back in housing it was common knowledge that he and his team were robbing the dope dealers and what was done about it? Not a thing. Lt. J.S. (who knew all) should of spent less time in the bar and more time keeping a watchful eye over the gangsta police who ran Ida B.
I bet these two watched "Training Day" one too many times! Or maybe "New Jack City!" Dem real thugs gonna be droolin when dese boys hit the joint!
Hooked up with who? Who was his juice? 12:21?
002 ranger, what the hell is that?
Long over due with Sarge watts. what took so long to get this guy
Was in Public Housing South in the mid thru late 90's. Entire tac teams being in on stealing money fron dope boys was common. It was open & notorious. When my partner and I came to one such team, we were green and had no idea. One night, we catch a dope boy dirty. We went into the unit, where we inventoried the dope AND ALL of$1,500.00 the dope boy had. A few minutes later, a certain Sgt (now in jail) arrives and pulls us to the side. Asks us how much did we GET & how much did we INVENTORY? When we informed him we'd inventoried every dam penny, he went apeshit. Basically accused us of holding out on him. Next day in role call, he called us out, in front of the team. Told them we weren't to be trusted because we weren't team players. We stood our ground and told him we weren't going to jail for his bullshit. For the next 2 weeks, were isolated from the rest of the team. Never told what was going on. Still, we went out got numbers on our own. Two weeks later, when the period ended, we were inexplicably assigned to another team. (laughing my ass off) Much to our delight.
You can't imagine the joy I felt when a few years later, after leaving Housing, I get a call, informing me that that Sgt was caught by the Feds, doing his bullshit. And that his right hand lapdog had been caught up too. A neraly 30 year career down the drain. Couldn't happen to nicer guy.
So the financial secretary position at the sgt.'s union is just a resume builder?
when u rob dope dealers you get 30 years in the fed, when u rob police pension you get to enjoy retirement..sign the daley family.
Shooting in 007 and 011 last night. Guess McBeatoff's plan isn't paying off.
Heres an idea why don't you hire some more cops?
The corrupt cops of SOS leader flanigan only got 9 yrs...lets see how many these guys get???
Anybody know who MADE the good sergeant?
Rahm and G-Mac wish you Happy Valentine's Day!

No shit! Most of us don't mind when the department goes after a copper for nonsense while in their performance of their duty and cost the officer some time off. We then gladly attend benefits and would generously contribute.
But, some of it is so ridiculous that I can not believe is being condoned by upper management.
It's like the sgt in OCD allegedly getting pissed off at an upscale restaurant a few years ago for not getting a "break", for allegedly discharging his mace on camera. The Sgt. then ends up getting stripped, "detailed" back to the building in an admin position and now an exempt allegedly sends out an email a few weeks ago to every supervisor in building to strong arm all the PO's for more $ after allegedly already having two fund raisers already.
Don't get me wrong. WE DON'T mind helping other coppers out for legit shit but when does it stop with the nonsense? I have to feed a family, pay a mortgage, private schools and work side gigs to make ends meet because I'm a nobody PO who plays it straight. The question here should be would the same efforts be put in motion with the benefits and emails be generated for the average officer who allegedly committed the same "mistake"?
Went through the academy with good ol ronnie watts... Was a military type...and always a snake..thought he knew everything... Well ronnie... You fucked up holmes. Was it worth your job, kids, house, wife, reputation?? Dumbfuck
What exempt sponsored him?
I had a job in Taylor about 14 years ago and the woman was happy to see me, she said she was tired of the police that were GD's in the area.
The word for the month is KARMA... Hey Mr Mayor aka Mayor of Ida B Wells. YOU never thought that when you returned from Mexico you would be jobless, insuranceless, moneyless (besides the money you stole), characterless, damn near homeless, etc (YOU got my point). I know you as a LIAR (and so do few others)BUT now the WORLD know you as a THIEF... WOW... It was a damn shame to see your fat ass running from Paul and his camera crew... That shit was funny as HELL!!! Karma and THANK YOU GOD!!!
The Mayor of Ida B Wells finally got what was do. To MY FRIEND that was dumped from Tact because of the part time BS... We ALL knew it was NOT because you was scared or didnt do your job. It was because you did NOT uphold the MAYOR'S BS. I guess neither one of us did and that why WE both got dumped... I guess we both had a guardian angel BUT didnt know it at the time.
My Mom always said she hated a THIEF and/or LIAR. SARGE is both. I guess all the allegations from Housing finally caught up with Ron. That many people could NOT being lying on Ron. Ron just didnt think he would have gotten caught. For those who worked with or for RW. You better be praying because he aint going down without taking a few others....
I really wish I could say that I'm shocked. I've known these guys for many years, heard the stories, and prayed that they weren't true. You both are true disappointments, as police officers, and as friends.
But when you are jumped on the camera leaving court, simply profess your innocense and walk away. Do not run off. Never run off. One last thing, do not take your wife or anyone else to court with you.
2/14/2012 06:49:00 AM
OR simply, hold your head up, look ahead and keep walking in silence.
I heard their Lt is a double merit just like their commander. This should launch them up even higher based on the past in 002.
Assholes.
There will be more to come..
This explains why they are moving all three tact teams from 021 to 002.
All these commentators saying Watts was dirty for years and it should've happened long ago- F--- You! If your so afraid of the "black eye" you should've done something about it in the past.
2/14/2012 11:15:00 AM
Like what, report it? Did that. Nothing ever happened. What do you suggest oh brave wise one?
These two looked like "prostitutes on cicero", running away from the news!
WATTS had no access to any union cash. Only the president AND treasurer together make moves with expenses now.
REALLY ??? Lets quit this BS union and just join the FOP. Strength in numbers.
Reading the bylaws.
Section 5. Duties of Financial Secretary. The duties of the Financial
Secretary shall be as follows: he shall review the bank reconciliation with the Treasurer,
he shall along with the Treasurer ensure that deposits are in accordance with expected
dues collected, he shall assist the Treasurer in ensuring that checks written to the
Association are deposited, he shall ensure the reconciliations balance, and he shall with
the Treasurer coordinate, supervise, and approve the audit of the annual report with the
outside accounting firm and the lead accountant. Within fourteen (14) days after a
Financial Secretary's term of office expires or is otherwise terminated or suspended, he
shall give to his successor all papers, documents, records, vouchers, worksheets,
books, money and other Association property that may have been entrusted to him by
virtue of his office.

Never had a hunch asshole? Never had a feeling but just couldn't put your finger on it? It's easy to come on here and anonymously throw stones you occupy prick. There is a reason they didn't conduct their dirty business at the station...they didn't want other officers to know what they were doing. If you were the police, you would know that. But, you are just some anonymous troll standing on a soapbox with a sheet over your head. When you make accusations...you better be damn sure and have proof in this city...or the aldermen will have your ass for calling out one of theirs. That's how things work in this liberal ass city, numbnuts.

Guys-everybody DOES NOT hate you. There are good people and bad people in every profession, law enforcement is no different. I have said it before and I will continue to say it: Thank you CPD for the work you do to keep order and to try to make the city better. It is appreciated.
a citizen, not a cop
It was well known to any decent officer working in 002 that these two and along with their associates were dirty. The best thing to do on this job is to keep your nose clean and get a good night's sleep. Then repeat the process all over again until you retire.
Also, more officers from tact are going down. The so called Mayor of Ida B. Wells is going to take down a couple of officers with him.
tactical lt and XO should be required to review GPS of tactical units to see if they leave district, work a full tour
Copper was in his personal vehicle so this will really make a difference. Dummy.
sounds like alot of people knew what was going on and said NOTHING like the boys in the hood. you guys who knew are scumbags TOO!
People, especially these two are so stupid. Many CPD officers have gone down like this, by the stings set-up by feds. I have seen one survive a probe like this and I don't know how, but with video yeah, not good. Sad, all those years, time in the job and career down the toilet. I hope others learn from it. No money is worth it, never has been and never will. It really bothers that a scum bag informant took down two cops, we should know better and nothing excuses it. We can't seem to stay out of the news, always something.
Honestly, that sgt should be given the "dumbest" award of the year. Sgts make ample and more than enough. I have seen some sustain multiple households. I just don't get why someone who obviously had some juice would just toss it all away. Especially if he belong to some part of his Sgt's union, the man had it all. Some we struggle to survive the politics of the job, some get blessed and embarrass the department. Just a damm shame. If money is tight just get a secondary job. Now their families are going to endure the shame.
Enjoy your stay in Jail Scumbags!!!!
These fellows had so much more than many people have today -- a steady job, a car, a nice house to call their own -- it doesn't have to be so big or fancy, but there is food and a warm bed to lie down and rest in. Authority too, some power, and a gun to protect themselves with, night and day.
Still not happy.
I remember, what was it, the four that they stripped in 016 some time back, they were all close to retirement, had the fishing places up in Wisconsin, money in the bank, you name it -- and they were shaking down illegal Polish carpenters. Just look outside the Polish bars for the work trucks with ladders on Friday night, payday-in-cash.
They didn't even need the money. They were just going to Vegas to drink and blow it all at the tables.
"[They're] the enemy on both sides of the bars now..alone cold and lonely..."

Yeah, you get a long, long time to wish to hell you'd just fallen asleep safe in front of the TV with a six-pack instead.
There are lots of doors in this world that don't have a handle on your side.
Just shows how bad this job is lacking good supervision. The white shirts that hound their guys get lambasted on this blog the ones who don't are the best bosses ever, well until shit like this happens.
It's only going to get worse with this DSS farce. Being in and around area 2, there have been several times when a sgt was the DSS and there was 1 sgt on the street trying to supervise 15-20 cars. Impossible!!! Until this dept starts hiring and promoting shit will keep happening and making us all look bad.

2/14/2012 08:09:00 AM
I am going to go out on a limb and guess you aren't an Officer, so I'll explain:
It's not like TV. The 'bad cop' doesn't walk up to the 'good cop', show his hand and try to entice the good guy over to the dark side.
The bad guy gets on the job and steals what he can in the shadows. Sometimes other bad cops get a hint of a 'bad cop' and they throw in together. They usually rob dope dealers and other bad guys who don't complain. Good cops know bad guys on and off the job and we stay away from them. There are no cameras, no tricky set ups and no real proof. You know that most of the Serpico movie was fiction, right?
Our own version of Serpico had the "Chicago" twist to it. They caught the dirty cop, enticed her to flip on her team of outlaws to stay out of jail, and then let her stay on the job.
They, in their infinite wisdom, then try to make her a star. They meritoriously promote her several times, and in the final straw that broke the back of every 'good cop', they make her an Inspector. Inspectors chase good cops around and write them up for minor infractions and cost good cops money for these infractions.
There is no real proof of bad cops being bad, we just know they are. That doesn't hold up in court. We actually hate these guys because they bring discredit to us. Given a choice, we'd like to see them locked up, or worse.
If you are a decent citizen, you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about with most bad cops. They only steal from other bad guys. Are there cops shaking down good people on traffic stops or the like? I doubt that goes on in this day and age, thank God. If you should be a victim, call IPRA or IAD. Trust us, we, the good cops, would appreciate it.
good riddance! watts stealing the dope boys money in ida b wells for years when they were open. he's a piece of garbage
hilarious news bit on channel 7 with paul meinecke. watts knocks over the camera man. bye bye watts you're a thieving piece of garbage. i hope you go to prison for the max. should of been done years ago

NO, we do NOT all hate you. The small percentage of bad will always be around (unfortunately) in any organization.
those mutts sure can run! lol
The court appearance for these two mutts probably cost $5,000. Will they ever learn?
Over the summer I worked hard to watch what I spent on bullshit, just tighten the belt a bit. By Christmas I had a bit over $5,000 saved, I was surprised. And no indictment, no visits to Federal Buildings, no running away from the cameras and microphones. Amazing.
But I also have no kids in private schools, no bad habits, no stiff mortgage payments, I drive a 10 year old car and the only thing I really spend money on is that pile I keep socking away in Deferred Comp.
And these guys just saw their police career go down the toilet, pensions gone etc. Their best bet now is to get some cheap lawyer, plead guilty and do the time.
When the Feds grab you, you are grabbed.
I work 002 tact and we hav one of the best teams in this city!!!! We won't let these guys ruin it, us 002 district rangers keep on moving!!!!
Who wrote the 018th dist. tact Sgt. that got dumped was a good guy? Well deserved 3rd or 4th dump!!

Thanks to the FBI for making a case on these corrupt police officers. Hopefully they are convicted and serve prison time. Chicago Police Department I.A.D. sure does'nt seem to be doing it.
Sgt Watts was a merit promotion. Just sayin'
OFF TOPIC
was at an area when an exempt was discussing g8 with another boss...
interesting conversation, the gold star was talking the shift changes with 1st and 2nd working 12 hours shifts to cover for the 3rd watch guys going downtown.
the part that caught my ear was when he said downtown is going to watch how the 12 hour shifts work out...that they did a manpower study and 12 hour shifts work best with a lower amount of manpower
12 hours shifts citywide, early/late starts with rapids covering overlap
2on/2off/4on/3off or 2on/3off/5on/2off
its on the table brothers
Some just think they are untouchable...maybe they watched too many gangster movies...

Never had a hunch asshole? Never had a feeling but just couldn't put your finger on it? It's easy to come on here and anonymously throw stones you occupy prick.

Hahaha at you categorizing internal knowledge of this nightmare crew as a 'hunch'. That's what you say in front of the jury and pray they believe you.
Likewise, hahaha at you categorizing me as an 'occupy prick'. Wrong.
This is why there should be in car cameras in tact cars before they put them in beat cars
These guys are out and never went in front of judge which means they both talked. So whoever did anything wrong with them, including creative writing should be very afraid.

WHO made Watts???????
WATTS had no access to any union cash. Only the president AND treasurer together make moves with expenses now.
REALLY ??? Lets quit this BS union and just join the FOP. Strength in numbers.
Reading the bylaws.

I read 'em...
AGAIN, HE HAS NO ACCESS NO UNION CASH.
Hey I just had a thought! Watts & Mohammad after you are found GUILTY request to serve your sentence in Colorado that way you can "kick" it with Blago! Lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...Rotflmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I work 002 tact and we hav one of the best teams in this city!!!! We won't let these guys ruin it, us 002 district rangers keep on moving!!!!

Wtf is a 002nd dist ranger?
I heard their Lt is a double merit just like their commander. This should launch them up even higher based on the past in 002
This is coming from a hardworking white PO, Commander F.W (002) is a great guy, gentleman and a great policeman. He put alot of real bad guys away over his career. Leave him off this board if you dont have anything good to say.
Or- if you got balls tell Comm. FW what you think in his face-and see what happens.
When you make accusations...you better be damn sure and have proof in this city...or the aldermen will have your ass for calling out one of theirs. That's how things work in this liberal ass city, numbnuts.

People who have come forward in this City know that retaliation is inevitable. This is true in my department (not CPD). If you're lucky or smart enough to survive the initial attack, you're less inclined to make further reports of wrongdoing.
The IG targets whistleblowers on occasion as well.
I recall officers on the watch complaining about the tact guys in Englewood. No one listened. The district commander was the former tact lieutenant. His former partner was head of IAD. Complain and you are the dirtbag and will have problems. The 002 tact team was corrupt in the early 80's and that is why the gambling operations moved there. Nothing new here. Reform starts at the top, from the mayor to the superinttendent to the alderman. Phony merit promotions, insider deals and contracts, incompetents running department units, this all has an impression on police officers.

* I completely and totally agree. Commander FW is the real deal. We need, and the department deserves more bosses like him.

I came on the job with Fred and worked with him in 006. Two of the best policemen you will ever come across were Freddie and Ron. The real deal.

Second on both those posts. In a perfect world Fred would have gotten a few minutes to "talk" with those two before they got taken away in cuffs.
