Charges on Shooters

The best thing you can say about the recent spate of police shootings is that no one has died.

The second best thing is that there have been arrests:
  • A 35-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were charged today with the Friday afternoon shooting of a Chicago police officer on the Far South Side.

Andre Miles, 35, of the 10500 block of South Maryland Avenue was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery, police said. He’s expected in court Sunday.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with aggravated battery as a juvenile but police didn’t release additional information about him.
Good job all around making sure these assholes ended up in custody.

This here is our future. It is the present in England. We all know how Daley Co. likes how the Queen does it. Take a deep breath. You know this is where they are going.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/mar/02/police-privatisation-security-firms-crime

Revealed: government plans for police privatisation

West Midlands and Surrey police offer £1.5bn contract under which private firms may investigate crime and detain suspects

...

Private companies could take responsibility for investigating crimes, patrolling neighbourhoods and even detaining suspects under a radical privatisation plan being put forward by two of the largest police forces in the country.

West Midlands and Surrey have invited bids from G4S and other major security companies on behalf of all forces across England and Wales to take over the delivery of a wide range of services previously carried out by the police.

I'm so surprised these two gentlemen weren't trying to turn their lives around. So sad. Now to more people the tax payers have to feed and house behind bars.

They had a sign; neighborhood watch!

Were these two in training to be the next DC Sniper's!

All kidding around, I'm glad the officer is OK! Hope he comes back 100%.

At least now someone is accountable. Did you see the 45 ammo that is NOT fitting in the officers guns as provided by the department? Did FOP contact any officer about this? This is a life and death situation. Winchester is the culprit here with some kind of messed up ammo that the range gave us during qualification for the guys with the 45's. UnBelievable!!!! But again, FOP has not contacted anyone and as of this writing has there been another shooting where an officer with a 45 had to use his gun only to realize he got faulty ammo provided by the department??? Scary.

The 45ACP recall was manufactured by Federal and American Eagle, NOT WINCHESTER, and only to the following lots:
American Eagle® (AE45A, AE45N1, AE45A250)
Champion™ (WM5233)
GoldMedal® (GM45B, Hi-Shok®)(45C, 45D).
Federal® Personal Defense® (C45C, C45D).
I know times are tough and pinching pennies are normal but take a few moments to research which rounds are most reliable in your duty weapons, don't scrimp on costs when it boils down to personal protection. I hope I am preaching to the choir....stay safe.

3:01am Winchester has put out some bad PDX1 ammo of late. Buy Federal HST for the .45, its the best ammo available at this time. Test any ammo you choose at the range before using it on the street to make sure your gun will digest it. Use Speer Gold dot if you cant find the HST. The Winchester Ranger Police ammo is supposed to be subject to strict quality controls, the stuff that flunks is dumped on the civilian market via ditributers.

That sucks and hopefully everyone checks their ammo out. That said this is something that does happen occasionally. I really hope that whoever does the firearm training for the CPD teaches everybody to make sure all their rounds will chamber. Field strip it drop evey round into the barrel make sure it "clunks" into the shoulder. Because even the manufacturers occasionally let a gun loose with a barrel a little "tight" which might function okay with your range ammo but not with others.

When the police encounter a violent offender and are shot or shot at, this violent offender should be executed on the spot. I don't care if he drops the gun, the gun is empty, he puts his hands in the air and waves the white flag. An officer, in my opinion, is completely justified and reasonable in executing the offender right then and there. No need for a trial, no need for this offender to live to say he shot at the police and be a prison hero. He needs to die, right there, quickly. Closed casket style. Maybe then this shit will stop.

Obama and Rahm at Man’s Country – Frequently?

by Maggie at Maggie’s Notebook

Well, well, well. HillBuzz was visited in Chicago by a US journalist wanting information about Man’s Country in Andersonville, Illinois. This article states that Barack Obama was a frequent visitor until 2002 and Rahm Emanuel until 2008, according to their sources.

HillBuzz tagged this article “bath houses.”

Its was sad and emabarassing to see CPD like this. I took a lot of pride in being a member of this organization and now it seems as if I'm just looking forward to the 1st and 16th. I loved being the police, but now I realize what ppl meant by," all that matters is you and your partner going home to your families and the end of the day." You have to love all the articles in the papers about the moving of detectives. 10-12 million in savings? from what? Not on single building is closing even thought he papers say they are "shuttering" harrison and grand and central.

Both of those areas are open for business. Grand and Central is the area north chiefs office and financial crimes is suppose to move into harrison. the spaces still need to be heated, lights on, and plumbing running, therefor there are no savings.

Belmont and western is still open for business as well so no facility savings there either.

WHERE IS THE 10-12 MILLION IN SAVINGS COMING FROM YOU FUCKING LIERS?

@ 03:01:00 AM...

Really? Is this true about Winchester .45 ACP ammo?

Standard pressure or +P?

Has anyone gotten in contact with Winchester about this?

Qualified last year and hit a round that FTF. shucked it and kept going. recovered it and it showed a solid primer strike.

Nothing in the primer cup? Obstructed primer pocket? No other visuals that anything was wrong with the round.

Reported to range staff and turned over to them...

It was standard pressure Winchester Ranger .45 ACP. Never had any issues with the +P though, f.w.i.w.

Buy and carry your own... Use range ammo for qualification.

Be careful and be safe...

Controversy Over FDNY Exam Workshop

Updated: Thursday, 01 Mar 2012, 10:48 PM EST
Published : Thursday, 01 Mar 2012, 7:14 PM EST

By DICK BRENNAN
Fox 5 Chief Political Correspondent

MYFOXNY.COM - A chaotic scene unfolded outside Middle School 72 in Jamaica, Queens, on Wednesday night as several men who wanted to attend a tutorial workshop for the upcoming FDNY entrance exam were turned away.

These men said it was because they were white. The Workshop was being hosted by the Vulcan Society, a fraternal organization of black firefighters, which apparently only let in people who got a special e-mail.

Fox 5 spoke to a few people who were turned away. They didn't want to be identified, but they said it appeared that only African-American hopefuls were admitted to the event.

A federal judge has ruled the FDNY discriminated in hiring and ordered reforms. But these candidates said they are being unfairly punished.

The Vulcan Society did not respond to requests for comment.

City officials said more workshops will be held next week and everyone is invited.

BOY, no matter how many years and you can still learn something new. Damn. The old toolmaker would call your chamber a "Go gauge;" if the round drops in, it's OK.

...and this is completely safe, unlike working rounds through the action, which could give you not only a discharge but also nicks up the brass -- burrs from the extractor claw, etc.

THANK YOU!

Check out this Tribune headline.

"At least 8 hurt in overnight violence"

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-shootings-wound-2-in-south-austin-park-manor-neighborhoods-of-chicago-20120303,0,897854.story

---------------------------

What do you think? I find that choice of words interesting.

Two stabbings and six people shot and now instead of the words "Shot" or "stabbed" in the headlines we have the choice of words being "hurt" and/or "injured"

That doesn't sound so bad does it?

Conjures up and entirely different image when you use that language to describe someone that is shot in the face right? Oh they got hurt but they'll be okay if they get out of the ICU...maybe.

Shot and stabbed sounds like acts of aggression. Hurt or injured sounds so passive and minor that it's hardly worth reporting on. People get hurt everyday no big deal.

It almost mirrors the CPD banned word list doesn't it? Political propaganda pressure in the media?
