Death Investigation

Everyone remember Derrick King?  Readers may recall him as the homeless asshole with something like 100 arrests, many for aggressive panhandling and trespass to property.  He famously attacked a woman downtown for refusing him a cigarette, knocking out most of her teeth and causing her to end up with 85 staples in her head.  On one occasion after Governor Quinn paroled him, he got arrested the very next day.

Well, it seems Derrick woke up a few days ago in his palatial suite in Grant Park in the company of his sometime "street wife."  Except the Missus wasn't breathing.  Dead in the park.

Now, given King's violent temper, past history and propensity toward beating defenseless women, one would hope that every effort was expended to investigate the mysterious death of someone in his company.

However, given the embarrassment that would arise if it was found he had killed someone after 100+ arrests and countless paroles by the governor's Prisoner Review Board, along the effort to avoid 500 homicides, we wouldn't wonder that the death ended up as another miscounted casualty.  It's just another homeless person.

It'll be a "cold weather related" death. Gotta keep it under 500, 'cuz Rahm and Garry say crime is down.

Should of been sent to a local mental health center. Oh wait. That's right. Rahm closed those centers to create a crisis like this that he can use.

Certainly a big reason this POS King, isn't behind bars for life, is the inaction of Anita Alverez and her worthless Cook County States Attorneys. Yeah, ol' Anita doesn't get too involved when shit doesn't effect her PERSONALLY.

When Anita gets criticized in the media, however, she starts sputtering in her best Richie Daley, all mad impression and goes on the attack.

That's what happened yesterday when she responded to CBS' "60 Minutes" news magazine producers after several days of sharp criticism in the local media and blogasphere for remarks she made in a "60 Minutes" story segment titled "Chicago: The False Confession Capital" featuring two infamous Chicago-area cases in which teenage boys allegedly confessed to brutal murders but were later exonerated when DNA excluded them as the killers.

In her letter, addressed to CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager, Alvarez called the story "an offensive display" and accused reporter Byron Pitts of using only snippets of a 6-month-old interview to distort her record and make it appear she was still trying to prosecute the cases.

Alvarez explained in the interview that one possible explanation for the DNA was necrophilia — that the rapist had sex with the girl after she'd already been killed.

That answer — which was roundly mocked in blogs and news critiques — was misconstrued, Alvarez said in the letter.

Interesting to see how "offended" she became after the media made her look like a fool!

Of course, she didn't deserve THAT!

That b* deserves everything she gets, and even that won't be enough. Her right-hand lackey, too, jerk that he is.

These two were notorious in the 1st district for getting drunk and beating each other on a regular basis. Word is that the "street wife" had injuries to both the front and back of her head. Must have been one hell of a night of drinking. But really, no great loss as she was as big a pos as he is.

When I saw the headline "Death Investigation" and then King's name, I was anticipating his death. As I read further I became disappointed.

I wonder how many homicides have been ruled suicides?
Oh he was stabbed 17 times in the back?, must have been self inflicted. Look we found this barely legable note even though the deceased has no arms.

The game is already on " Hiding Homicide's.

Looks like they forgot this one HV 596 086 me # 125 dec 12 Rene Reyna Jr. Which died 10 Dec 12, and arrest was made.

Plus McLair has told the Det. Division chain of command not to close any " DEATH INVESTIGATIONS " till after New Year, and if any Det. thinks he has the balls to CLOSE a Death Inv. before then it will be kicked back for any little thing so it doesn't count.

Be Safe.

Sounds familiar. Isn't this the guy who almost killed the woman who refused to give him a cigarette in the 001st District a few years back? He knocked her teeth down her throat. He should have been charged with attempted murder and a hate crime, but not in Cook County. This guy is ultra violent. This was so predictable. Downtown is full of these thugs.

This is the same Fighting Pat Quinn who laments empty cots in Illinois Prisons.

What do you think happened in the Ryan Harris case? The boys did it then along comes Floyd Durr and beats his meat over the dead body, Because his DNA is on the body he gets convicted of the murder. Everyone threw the Dets under the bus and the city gave the killers the ghetto lottery
