Cold and Bloody Weekend

  • Weekend gun violence in Chicago left two men dead and at least 14 other people wounded, including a man shot during a party in the Loop’s historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel.
A shooting inside the Palmer House? That's going to do wonders for the tourism trade.
And then a horrific homicide that falls under the radar in the face of commonplace shootings:
  • The death of a 2-year-old South Side girl has been ruled a homicide, after she suffered multiple injuries from a beating, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The state Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of neglect in the death Layla Stewart.

Layla, of the 2000 block of West 69th Place was pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital at 2:12 a.m. on Sunday, according to the medical examiner’s office.
We think we passed the 2012 January homicide count already this year. And another month of no accountability for McCompStat and his failures, although he demands "accountability" from everyone else.

PALMER HOUSE

Last week the son of Kenny Williams (of the Chicago White Sox)
got pinched for domestic battery at the Palmer House.

To say the least the place is now a shit hole.

Those darn Amish just won't give each other up! As reported by the Trib: A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg early this morning during a party on the 22nd floor of a Loop hotel, police said.

The shooting, one of several overnight shooting incidents across the city that left at least six other people injured, happened about 2:15 a.m. at the Palmer House, 17 East Monroe St., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

Police said no suspects were in custody and that the man was not cooperating fully with detectives.

Everyone involved knew each other, according to police. Police were not sure what led to the shooting because the individuals involved were not cooperating with police, according to police.

Poor little girl. She never had a chance because she happened to live amongst animals. Why are none the activist marching and demanding justice for this poor defenseless child? I guess only gangbanging pieces of shit who die by the hands of the police are worth their effort.

When the homicides from January rise by 50% and the next year rise by another 50% that's what you call exponential growth.

Guess we need more cameras then??

Its just sad the child had to die at the hands of a SAVAGE. These people are not ANIMALS. Animals don't do this to each other, only SAVAGE humans do. Where is the public outcry for this child, even though she will be in a better place now.

Freaking savages!!!!!!!

However pnly you have enough power to set your brother up with other employment. As much as you love him and admire him he stands in your way living in the White House. Let him go! Nobody will do any more than they have to for McBrother. As your city decayes before your eyes you must realize to have a great citt here is a tip. It must feel safe to those who live in it and those who want to visit. Police work is 90% instinct and with McBrother as supe that instinct gas become 99% EXTINCT!! Do not pay any attention to the faults of the black community for it is you police officers with you evil code of silence that needs to be dealt with. Never mind that we have casualty numbers on any given weekend that will rival those in afganastan at the hight of the war on terror. Or the continued law breaking policies by our elected officials. Shame on you police officers! How dare you expect a pension that was promised to you in a contract. Even though our politicians get a full pension and great health care!

"...because the individuals involved were not cooperating with police,..."

Then, fuck 'em! I get so tired of hearing this crap! It even happens out here in flyover country. Then, when 4 women get tied up and executed in one of those Section 8 hellholes, all the occupants complain about lack of security and police protection. The fact that a drug dealer may have been staying in the apartment where the women were murdered seems not to have been important to anyone until after the killings.

where are the activists or anti-police idiots who cry wolf as soon as the police shoot an offender with a gun? but when an innocent 2 year old gets beaten to death by her own savage family then they just want to keep that on the hush-hush. someone needs to follow this story and make sure there is accountability because this is one of those stories that could easily slip through the cracks. and we know how that can happen here.

(NY Post)

Assault-rifle owners statewide are organizing a mass boycott of Gov. Cuomo’s new law mandating they register their weapons, daring officials to “come and take it away,” The Post has learned.

Gun-range owners and gun-rights advocates are encouraging hundreds of thousands of owners to defy the law, saying it’d be the largest act of civil disobedience in state history.

“I’ve heard from hundreds of people that they’re prepared to defy the law, and that number will be magnified by the thousands, by the tens of thousands, when the registration deadline comes,’’ said Brian Olesen, president of the American Shooters Supply, one of the largest gun dealers in the state.

Officials estimate at least 1 million semiautomatic rifles are owned in the state, sources said.

And come April 15, 2014 — when Cuomo is expected to be running for re-election — they all have to be registered with the State Police.

But because the rifles have been legal but unregistered until now, authorities don’t know who has them or where they are located...

****

National Rifle Association President David Keene told The Post yesterday that he wasn’t surprised by the planned boycott.

“While we don’t get involved in campaigns to resist the law, I will say this: Historic experience here and in Canada shows that when you try to force gun owners into a registration and licensing system, there’s usually mass opposition and mass noncompliance,” he said. “I think it’s going to be very difficult for the governor to get mass compliance with this new law.”

Leaders of some of the state’s 300 gun clubs, gun dealers and Second Amendment organizations are organizing the boycott — and the heaviest interest is in Suffolk County, the Capital District and the Buffalo region, sources said.

The organizers point to a little-known guarantee of gun ownership contained in New York’s own “Civil Rights Law,” which was ratified the same year as the Constitution .

The state statute says the right to keep and bear arms “cannot be infringed” — stronger than the Second Amendment, which says it “shall not be infringed.’’

“They’re saying, ‘F--- the governor! F--- Cuomo! We’re not going to register our guns,’ and I think they’re serious. People are not going to do it. People are going to resist,’’ said State Rifle and Pistol Association President Tom King, a member of the NRA board of directors. “They’re taking one of our guaranteed civil rights, and they’re taking it away.’’

How about this for an answer to all who say that it is white people that commit all the mass murders.

Do you think it would be hard to find 20 cases in Chicago like that of the two year old girl?

Not hard at all.
