Don't Do This

You are begging for a Rule 14 and termination:
  • Last week several Beat officers were called into the Commanders Office about the percentage of contact cards written off their Beats. The Officers stated that these contact cards stemmed from jobs that they were given by dispatch off their respective beats and that by G.O. a contact card was required. Her response was for the officers to put their names in the narrative and put the regular Beat Officers in the appropriate box so as to show that they were written by the adtual beat Officer.
No idea what district this is, but we have reason to suspect 015.

If true a boss just told the officers to falsify an official police document and all for the purpose of making up stats to please the higher-ups. Remember guys if you get jammed the brass will deny deny and lie and lie. They learn that in "we got your back school 101" when they get the golden kiss. Never let them encourge you to make shit up for them. They have been doing this for many years and unfortuately some guys have lost their jobs over it.

They want contact cards because they want to document every citizen for their communist files. It makes it easier to spy on them with the cameras they put in.

They just want you to get used to living the the Soviet States of America before you get sent to the FEMA camp. You are their foot soldiers. Now go contact card some people on their way to work for the welfare class. Rahmie the commie needs his information.

If someone comes up to you and requests you make a contact card on him, do it! Then enjoy the other half of tour retirement party!

Thank You

There is NO Dept directive that addresses contact cards.

When we first began using them, their initial purpose was to create a database of those with the propensity to commit crime. Over the years their purpose has changed. But there HAS NEVER BEEN a directive that specifically addresses them.

Special Order S04-13-09 (and then there are more re:contact cards)
How stupid are you? I'm retired and still know how to find an order!

Two things that always remain true. . . Give the Department just 4 hours a day of police work [nothing else] and you will be a star in any district.
Also give them 5 parkers, 1 mover and a bus check and they will leave you alone [because you will be doing more then 90% of the district]. Now you have to add contact cards.

But your right Fuck Them! I'm playing Words With Friends I don't have time it's a busy district.

This reminds me of the time when we had a victim of a strong arm robbery. She came into the station and sat around. After one hour she said I am going to leave. I have had enough. I need to run errands and in three hours I need to go to work. I told my Sgt. the victim is not going to cooperate and she will be leaving. He told me "tell her to stay and by law she is required to stay here". I told him "well I am not going to lie to her. If she wants to leave then she can leave".

Stand up for yourself.

--Sounds like forgery or falsifying an original report. What if the officers on that beat were in the station on an arrest or somewhere else at the time? They'll be jammed up if something happens and so will you. And you can claim all day long that you were told to do it by your supervisors and they will deny it. You'll be taking time. Somebody ought to send this brainy idea to the supe.

Name the commander. McStupe did have a FIT at the last comppost meeting about how many CC's were not written on officer's regular beats. Knew it was only a matter of time till some idiot figured out a way to try to fix that so they're a star at the next meeting.

Anybody with a star can go to a comppost meeting. You should go when your commander or other bosses are up and watch how McDummy reduces them to blobs of jello up there--then see how tough you think they are after that. They're desperate boobs is all.

I was told I should have known better . I also asked a commander to put what I thought was an illegal order in writing. He did not. I did not carry out the order and I got a CR number. I think I'd rather be fired for no productivity than have to spend time in federal prison. Ask Bill Cozzi how federal prison is. Did you read the post? it's about a rule 14 violation, not productivity per-se.

Your own words are key "I should have known better." That is called The Color of Law - a federal crime. DO NOT do something that you know is wrong regardless of the rank telling you to do it. The feds don't care about your department policy - you knew it was wrong and you did it anyway? Guilty. Research the Color of Law. Disobey all direct orders that you know are wrong, then document the incident in great detail, and let the bosses know that you are doing so.
