All This New Paperwork

This new pilot program seems to run counter to everything that's been preached to us over the past few months:
  • ....introduces the:
1.Campaign to Break the Code of Silence Drop Box Initiative cards (CPD-21.236)

2.Campaign to Break the Code of Silence Drop Box Initiative Daily Log sheet (CPD-21.237)
3.Campaign to Break the Code of Silence Drop Box Monthly Report (CPD-21.238
4.Campaign to Break the Code of Silence Drop Box Initiative Transmittal (CPD-21.239)
Four separate cards/forms.

How many years has it been since we were on the verge of a "paperless Department"? And the one thing you can't find in any district lately is a ream of paper to run the copy machine with. But someone keeps coming up with specialty print jobs at lord knows what cost. We should've have bought a paper company.

And McManpower has been telling anyone with a camera that we have more than enough cops - we just have to deploy them better, and to do that we've stripped how many officers out of house-mouse positions? But here we are creating paperwork that is going to necessitate someone coming in, collecting, collating, re-typing and forwarding this info where it can do some good....unless this is all part of a plot to not actually responding to the submitted information?

Could it all be a plot? A misdirection? A twist worthy of Hitchcock?!?

Or just morons doing the double-talk shuffle?

Bc nobody in todays day in age cant leave a tip on cpds website. Call the tac office or 911. The politicians are just.trying to say that it is a new idea, but anybidy with a brain knows that it isnt. Then again the American media is clueless so the story will make headlines.

Well it'll finally give the touchy feely CAPS Rev'run in 010 something to do!

First, this has to be the dumbest idea the CPD has ever come up with. Second, can't someone with info. just call 911 from a pay phone or other non-traceable phone and be anonymous and leave a tip? What's the difference? Now the tipsters can possibly be seen going to the silly drop box.
Third, when the boxes are always empty will the brass yell that the numbers are down? Will they tell the P.O.'s "you got to get people to fill those boxes with info.?" Or will they just put fake notes with info. in the boxes and then show the media and say, "these are just "representative" boxes, the real ones aren't available."

OT, but just catching up on posts. Saw this:

McIfeelthreatened can rabbit punch and belittle all he wants - everyone in the room knows the 012th Dist. commander is the CHICAGO POLICE and not some drunken carpetbagger hanging from Rahm's puppet string.

McDrunkass is going after her because his kiss ass minions read this blog for him and saw the post about Tiny Dancer launching him and putting her in the Supt seat.

It is true that Tiny Dancer is very impressed with Staples and she would cover some important political bases for him. It's also true that blue shirts like and respect her. She's told them she'll take the heat on numbers in CompStat if they go out and be the police.

So what were officers in 012 doing this weekend after reading the "rabbit punching" post? Writing tickets, contact cards, etc. See, she gets it. You back up your troops, they back you up.

If I didn't see the order on this with my own eyes I'd say the whole thing is too ridiculous to be true,
This department slides further into the abyss.

Are you kidding SCC? You're worried about house mouses doing this paperwork? No way! This whole thing will become part of the DBI (Drop Box Initiative). It will paid OT, 1 LT, 3 Sgts, 44 POs per day. Qualifications for the Initiative will be that you have to have 2 black ink pens, be able to print legibly and type at least 10 words per minute and finally count to 100 without using toes and fingers.

should we start a drop box for Loevy & Loevy?

maybe the 'wrongfully convicted' will get a conscience and nark on the shysters for telling them exactly how Burge "coerced" them.

Not that Burge was an angel, or even innocent. But the stories of the 'wrongfully convicted' were all planted I am sure.

HA. Talk about a scam.

Dumber than the red flags you hold up to cross the street?

No doubt the city will use this as an excuse to begin mass hirings of civilians. Need all that paper work processed!

And since the hiring process is soooo stringent, there is no chance in hell that one or two gang bangers won't slip through the cracks and have access to all this highly sensative material.

/sarcasm

Wait. You just watch and see, a fabulous tip will come from one of these boxes, legitimizing their creation.

Hey Scc,
Just curious how many hours a day on the average does a cop spent doing paperwork?

And CPD has no auto theft unit, in fact no auto theft for 15 years or more, years ago these junk yards were checked on a regular basis for stolen parts from auto's, now stealing an expensive auto is easier than shoplifting. Chop shops , shipping expensive auto's to other countires with no check of vin numbers , no real police follow-up except making a report for the insurance company, crime pays

lol @ paperless system. Getting an arrest approved you need to bring leads printout, alert printouts, full rap sheets, multiple case reports for the desk...it never ends.

This is even dumber than the idea to have everyone wear name tags...remember it cost Dickens the election.

There must have been a suggestion box idea pitched at one of those neighborhood meetings with the Revs. Obviously one of the stupid responses to one of those "my door is always open" invitations that he uses to disguise the pandering of the current administration. I'm betting this guy is gone by the 2nd time North Avenue beach gets closed down this summer....maybe sooner.

You are all missing the point. Who has the contract to make the boxes? To do the study on where to place them? To actually put them up? To design the forms? To print and distribute the forms? to make the collection bag? There's money to be made here thats what its all about!!!!As the man said in Robocop"who cares if it works"
