And if it's true that McBoxes has said the 100-plus openings in 016 will go unfilled due to low crime, then why would there be FTO openings at all up there?

Low crime just means murders and shootings. There is tons of property crime but mcnumbnuts doesnt care. as a lifelong resident of 016 I have seen the shitbags slowly moving in the southeast end of the district. They are rapidly making their approach north and west. I truly appreciate the hard working coppers in 016. There are plenty of dogs to I'm sure. Just wanted to say thanks to the guys that go out and lock up these assholes, especially as understaffed as 016 is. Thanks...9161

Great strategy wait till the crime stats are record high in 016 before fully staffing. While they flood the unemployed/nontax paying west and south sides with on and off duty P/O's. What a jagoff this Superintendent is. What a jagoff I am for continuing to work for or live in this city!
If true it's probally a ruse or backdoor way to fuck anyone who bids to 016 to be an FTO. Shortly after they will move you due to "operational needs" and if you don't like it you will have to resign as an FTO. I won't trust them. It seems suspicious.

So if they go unfilled at $80,000 a police officer multiplied by 100 comes to 8 million in savings. Can we divide that out to reduce everyones property taxes in 016, its only fair.
Dont send the recruits there send the guys that have been working in these busy districts and open up some bid spots in 016.

The FTO openings are another fine example of Human Resources screwing up. Ladner could screw up a wet dream.
The openings were supposed to be district bids not FTO. But good ole Tracy and her people messed up again.
Their will be no FTO'S sent to 016, it seems Ladner again made a bobo and sent out wrong vacancy sheets. The openings are for regular Patrol Officers, 6 of which are in 016,017 and 020. NO FTO's IN 016!
Didn't the LSM just report on four armed robberies that occurred, a few only a block from the doors of 016? I thought crime was dropping?

In the past three weeks, my car was broken into, my girlfriends' car was broken into, my cousins' car was broken into and my other cousins' house was burglarized. All in 016(north end)

Pay high property taxes, get no representation.
Our trash cans don't over fill and spill into the alley, we generally clean our own streets, don't call for a CFD taxi ride to the ER or negligently start fires in our houses, our hydrants don't run 24/7, we don't call the police to take our kids to school or settle fights over the last drumstick.
Training in 016 isn't the best idea, but added manpower is always welcome

In my almost 20 years on i have never once seen the bids get jacked up. They come out on friday and are due into personnel by monday. But in steps Ladner. The bids that came out friday were supposed to be for 9161 or PO's. But Ladner put the fto title code on there. So it takes until Sunday before someone catches the mistake. So they replace the fto title code with the po title code and reissue it. Then just to complicate things even more they issue a new bid sheet just for fto's with totally different districts on it. Ladner you managed to mess up something that only requires counting and writing a few numbers. Something that most kindergartners can manage. But sadly you cannot.
Crime may be low, as the residents are mostly city workers, and those who know how to behave..But the shitbags are moving in all over the place. Check out all the theft and robberies going on. Just a matter of time till it really goes to hell.
no recruits are going to 016. I revised order came out and showed no openings in 016 for ftos. lets be realistic when 016 becomes a training district we all better run and hide
Only FTOs and PPOs that can show a bonafide addiction to Starbucks will be allowed to go there.

Typical Chicago Police Department. Take a system that isn't perfect but works and has worked for years and totally fuck it up all to hell. Take a position that needs someone with many years of police and contract experience and stick a dumb fucking political know nothing civilian hack in there and generate a dump truck full of new lawsuits.
Remember, it was Richard M Daley who stuck her in there and Rahm Emanuel who has kept her there.
Got news for ya, after working in several districts in my almost 20 year career and now working in 016 it is busier than anyone wants to admitt.The stuff that drives through and now lives in the distict is sadly alarming!It's time we get the resorces here that we need and deserve...The NW side of the city is shrinking in terms of where we can live safely...

One, remind everybody not to leave their leather jacket, netbook, cd case, ipod, ipad, Macy's shopping bags, etc., in full view on the front or back seats.
Two, if you don't have to live in the city, move out. Car insurance is cheaper, taxes are lower, municipal fees are lower and crime is generally lower, too.

We've got gangbangers in the neighborhood now, four businesses were robbed going up Milwaukee Ave, and a prospective car buyer responding to an ad on Craigslist was relieved of his pants, $5000.00, and pistol whipped in the 4300 block of N. Laramie. Someone was shot a month ago in an alley off of Central/Montrose.
The beast is here and it's getting worse everyday.
