Weekend Totals
- Two men were fatally shot and at least 20 others were injured in shootings across Chicago Easter weekend.
In the weekend's first fatality, a 23-year-old man was killed while walking with his step father around 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Francisco Avenue, police said.
Eugene Solano, who has alleged gang ties, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
His 44-year-old step father was also shot in the arm.
The weekend's second fatality came Sunday when a 19-year-old man was shot 1300 block of West Hastings Street just before 2 a.m. in a bloody hour that reportedly wounded at least seven others.
This includes something like half-a-dozen shot in the 012 District in under 2 hours. Seriously - 012. That hasn't happened in years, decades even. And here we have one warm weekend and all these people getting in the way of bullets.
So, 2 dead and 20 wounded.

- A woman was found dead in a West Side park Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s or 40s, was found in Douglas Park in the North Lawndale neighborhood, authorities said.
She was found with major head trauma and may have been beaten to death following a domestic, but she doesn't make the headline tally because she wasn't shot - but she's still dead.

Oops and one more DOA found in a garage fire up north on Troy
Starting friday vri north will take 100 officers by van from 011, and drop them off downtown. The vans will then return at 0200 to pick up the officers. Officers must be on foot for the entire tour, except for lunch.

I'm a former Chicagoan who reads here frequently. I'm wondering if you could add a map or a link to a map in the sidebar that shows the district outlines. I'm familiar with some..but this post mentions 012 and I have no idea what area of the city that is. I've found it before through web-searching but it would be handy to have it here for those of us who are not LEO's. Thanks
Thank God the St. Ignatius kids will be on spring Break this week or 012 would really be a bloodbath.
Remember that the $25 dollar tax started after midnight. There was also a tax for cook county residents that they have to pay for purchases outside of the county with the equivelant county tax, to be paid to the county.
Count up the confiscated guns my friends and tax the hell out of the gang bangers. Since the shooters only get a slap on the wrist for criminal prosecutions, maybe they will be thrown in the jail because they didnt pay the $25 dollar tax! Thats how they got Capone...

What's the story on the 52nd and Nagle sexual assault, maybe home invasion? News was very non-informative. No info on offender. Is this legit?
