Helping Oklahoma

The Brotherhood for the Fallen:
  • Dear SCC,

Since many of the men and women who contribute to the Brotherhood For The Fallen read the Blog we were hoping that you could send out a big thank you on our behalf. Last Wednesday three members drove straight through to Moore, OK with a trailer filled with provisions provided by the generous contributions from the following:

Turano Baking, Fair Share Fine Foods, Jim Calace, Daniel Sadowski, Thomas McGrath, John McKenna and the 011 Dist, Lisa Melemdez and the 010 Dist. Andre Hassen and Major Accidents, Pat Riordan, Sarah McDermott, Mike Bansfield, Ed Daly, Keith Kalafoot, Jim and Debbie Truhlar.

    Thank You
Actually, thank you Officers.

Nice way to help out and represent the city. Sorry I couldn't go. Hope those people get the help they need in a timely manner. Seems like obama was on it, at least he looked like he cared on TV. Guess all the IRS scandal is getting all up on his grill and he needed a break.

I thought conservatives in Oklahoma don't want any help?? Both Oklahoma Senators tried to stop hurricane sandy relief in New Jersey and voted against relief for Oklahoma. What's up with that??

Obama was "on it"? He couldn't even get the name of the town right, calling "Moore, Oklahoma" "Monroe"...yep, he was on it.

Why not have those on Public aid go down to do clean-up duty? They are getting a Government check, right?

Madigan Pension Plan Could Save State $187B

How about, instead

Madigan Pension Plan Could Cost Retirees $187B

Shows their bias

It is a zero sum transaction.

With the summer furlough season coming up why not send bodies to give their overworked and stressed P.O.'s a break to get their heads and lives in order. A lot lost everything. For us,it's a chance to see how civilized people live and highlight what an absolute ghetto cesspool we live in.

Today Rahm introduced a bill in Springfield to take away retires health care by 1 January2014.

Promises made never kept, Be careful his next move is to strip ALL active employees of health care and put them along with the retires in OBAMACARE! Yes this includes Police and Fire but NOT the elected officials.

The Brotherhood for the Fallen also go to ALL the States/Towns where a P.O. has been killed...they couldn't possibly make me prouder for the duties they perform on behalff of the CPD, in that they are Police, for Police. They need our support to carry on this invaluable service. It could be as simple as purchasing some of their wares, clothing etc.....God Bless them!!!

I never liked contributing to mega-charities like the Red Cross.

Their CEO makes HOW MUCH!?!?

So good job officers and this is the reason I always contribute to Brotherhood for the Fallen events.

I am away from the job right now, SCC how can we contribute to this effort?

This is the individual (I cannot bring myself to call him a man) who stood at a podium, in front of the press, and promised he would do nothing to hurt current retirees?

Stop being a smarmy, holier than thou creep. What are you, six years old?

The right thing to do is to help those in need. We are all human beings and we should all find it in ourselves to get past petty politics when others are victims of a tragedy.

Did anyone see the article in the Wednesday 29May13 Chicago tribune breaking news, (I thought I saved it!!!), about Rahm placing 35,000 city hall workers, (what it said?), into the federally funded obamacare program? The only people it will not affect will be people that retired before 1989? The item was within another article. What a little PRICK!

Following the tornado in Joplin Mo in 2011, a different police blog posted information regarding seven Joplin P/O's who lost everything in the disaster.
An address was listed in that article for those who wanted to send uniforms and other clothing to these officers to assist with their recovery efforts.
Does any list member know if any P/O from OK was impacted by the tornado? If so, does anyone have an address of a PD in the area where uniforms, other clothing, etc. can be sent?
I donated to the extra collection held in my parish this past weekend for the Moore OK victims but would like to do something special for any P/Os who were affected by this terrible event.
Thanks & stay safe!

Off topic, the CPD running team went 40 deep to Bostons Run to Remember over the weekend and made the Boston globe. It was an amazing weekend and our shirts read "Chicago's got your back, Boston!" Proud to have been a part in it!

Just remember these are the same whacked out, sooo far left socialists in Boston who want to keep you from owning a gun and giving all the rights and protections to terrorists. These a**holes (islamic terrorists)got over $100,000.00 in tax payer assistance and their governor wants to silence that fact. If it were revolutionary times right now Boston and the people of Boston would be waving the Union Jack and protesting against the founding fathers. Its tragic the bombing happened but I wouldn't get too caught up being one with bostonians. And to the idiot who said the 2 Oklahoma senators voted against further Hurricane Sandy relief, check your facts lefty, they voted against the additional relief/expansion because the money initially allocated has not been spent and additional funding was not going for relief but other expenditures not related to the hurricane. I know you find it unbelievable coming from Illinois that there could be an attachment to a relief bill that had nothing to do with relief for those who need it. Keep reading the ny times you radicalized liberal.
