Lisa Plays Delay Delay Delay
Now, after everything is passed, she decides to ask for the 30 day extension:
- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has filed a request with a federal appeals court asking for an additional 30 days to put in place a law that would allow citizens to carry guns in public.
The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals gave the state until June 9 to come up with concealed carry rules when it struck down Illinois’ longtime ban in December. Last week, lawmakers passed a measure setting out who could carry guns and where, but Madigan argues Gov. Pat Quinn should have more time to review the legislation before deciding whether to sign it into law.
The state constitution gives the governor 60 calendar days from the time a bill is sent to his desk to act before it would automatically become law.
We noticed that when the legislature passed laws that Quinn (and Rahm) disapproved of, they didn't wait 30 or 60 days to level criticism against the proposed law - Quinn (and Rahm) were on the TV and radio before the next news cycle, spouting everything that they objected to or that they openly speculated would lead to open warfare in the streets.
How odd is that?
How odd is that?

Well the 7th showed that they know who the boss is in Illinois... they fucking caved. The state had 180 days to get this passed. They used what... 173 of them before they acted? I hope potato head vetos the bill. Constiutional carry for all.
The pricks really hate Free Americans don't they?
We cant allow Republians to carry guns, Because they might shoot Democrats trying to hurt them.
jim edgar is responsible for the current pension mess--- papa madigan has failed to right the ship--- why the hell would anyone even think of putting his daughter "stone face" in office--- she will just make it worse as she is a conniving back stabbing thief just like her daddy....
Doesn't the bill have a veto-proof majority? It wouldn't matter what Quinn thought of the bill.

But it's not the Madigan bill....???
The Democrats will everything possible to delay, hinder & the passage of this bill.
Expect a barrage of publicity, speeches, & parade of victims in the media.
After delays, & possible more legal action, this bill will pass destroying years of anti-2nd Amendment propaganda & lies.
Violent crime is behavior, not a device.
Just A Citizen Says:
What the hell are these anti-gun (liberals/democrats/morons) afraid of? Are they that terrified of us carrying a weapon? And why? What bothers them so much about it? Forget all the media crap, just think about what the hell bothers them so much that we exercise our second amendment rights? And why did it take so long for Illinois to join the rest of the country? These are the important questions. What fear lurks in the minds of the anti-gun people?
Edgar was borrowing pennies, the democrats were borrowing dollars. Both are wrong but, the democrats are magnitudes worse. Blaming edgar is a distraction.
But Anita Alvarez fails to enforce Illinois' definition of marriage because she 'feels' (emotes) that it is unconstitutional.
Changing the law on a whim is no big deal for the liberal.
Apparently the 2nd Amendment does not get this scrutiny from the socialist/liberals.
Blame Bush.
More time to read it, what are they reading at kindergarten level. 6 months is a long enough time to digest it. Now it's time for the people of this state to begin controlling violent crime since are politicians and courts cannot. Illinois and Chicago will now begin to see the most significant reduction of crime in it's history. Bring it Shitbirds!!!!
She is not done yet, after this delay she can still challenge the whole thing by asking for the Supreme Court to review the original decision by the 7th circuit. Remember she asked and was granted 30 days for that I believe prior to the passing of the bill we now have. If they agree to hear it we will have a long delay for CCW. Remember Lisa, Daddy, The Gov and our mayor have all stated, "concealed carry is wrong for Illinois". They believe the other 49 states are wrong.
Here's Alan Gura's plaintiff response to Lisa's delay tactics: http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=11658
It contains some hilarious points, including Quinn's twitter feed saying how he already knows the law is bad, and rips them for not being prepared.
I wonder if they can perpetually file for 30 day extensions?
Gov. Lisa's job isn't to "make it better" it is to keep stealing.
She is showing how anti gun she is in order to get all the funds from Bloomberg when she runs against potato head then a Republican in the general election. You will see all those sill commercials, "He voted to let people carry loaded guns endangering citizens" Lisa fought the NRA and tried to keep us all safe...
By the way, Lisa's delay motion was granted, but the court made it very clear there will be no more delays allowed.
http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=11660
This will allow home rule cities and the county to pass more bullshit laws before the CCW bill becomes law which would stop that.
@Anon 0300: The bills may have passed with veto-proof majorities, but that doesn't mean those shitbags will vote the same way in a veto session. Of course, that would mean court carry, but I bet Quinn would bring them back for an emergency session to craft some worse POS law to ram through while we are all on summer vacation. I hate this place.
In granting an extension to July 9 the court made it clear the state should get moving.
“No further extensions to stay the court’s mandate will be granted,” the ruling noted.
However, there are a number of timing issues that could still come into play.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan, for example, has until June 24 to file an appeal asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the decision.
20 Bucks says she will appeal, the games are just getting started. Illinois will never have concealed carry. Our corrupt democratic politicians do not whish it so.
She got her delay, just more proof that Shitcago runs the state and the nation. The court said something like this, "now only 30 days, we really mean it this time Lisa and pretty please don't appeal our decision to the Supreme Court". I bet if this was a bill gutting our pensions the Gov would sign it in 60 seconds.
The knuckleheads of IL had 6 months to draft a bill and like a student who does his term paper the night before it is due the law makers waited until the 11th hour. Now the 7th circuit lets these SOB's have another 30 days to stall. This state is broke, broken and simply corrupt. Time to think about getting out..
MS
fuck it, "we the people wana carry"
It's not about due diligence for the governor. It's about delaying and denying as much as possible while they figure out how many ways they can screw this up for the law abiding citizens.
This should be one outstanding reason never to elect another Democrap to office but I'm sure there are many asshole's out there that don't give a shit what happens to this state or country.
If anyone thinks this was something Mudigan planned before he allowed the bill to pass raise your hand. As soon as he got behind any carry bill I knew the other shoe would drop. The court will rarely deny a stay. But they did say this is the last delay they will give. Now look for some completely screwed up mess and no "shall issue" or pre-emption for Chicago and Cook. Anyone who votes for these same people over and over....you get what you deserve. Unfortunately the rest have to suffer too. Little Lisa and the other Daley will run for gov and once again fools will vote to keep screwing themselves.
attention honorable leaders at ALL levels of government : pay attention to what's happening in Turkey !
It is all about the politics.
They don't deserve keeses!!!!
Typical...let's waste more money on "my personal agenda"
Come on folks, time to flush the toilet and get rid of these POS
Starting June 10th, citizens of Illinois who possess an FOID card should exercise their Second Amendment right to conceal-carry. Why wait up to 60 days for Gov. Quinn to sign or reject this law? The state legislature had six long months to do the right thing and get this done and over with, and they took way too long. Now, Lisa Madigan wants to violate the intent and spirit of a Federal Court ruling in a pathetic attempt to extend Illinois' illegal UUW laws up to an additional 60 days?
Any law-abiding adult (never convicted of a felony, or mentally ill, or with an active domestic violence case such as CeaseFire Tio) with an FOID card should feel free to conceal carry starting June 10th. And all police officers should respect this Constitutional right, and not consider making any illegal UUW arrests in this regard.
Hey this should be denied. You have had plenty of time quit stalling. Seems you and your office are incompetent.
Lisa Madigan, nothin buta Waste of Taxpayer Dollars, and Oxygen Thief.
The money she wasted on all her nonsensical Legislation could be being used to hire more CPD Cops and Fireman
Keep wasting more of the taxpayers money.
She's aspires to Schakowsky's communist ideals.
The possibility of a two Daley state is increasing. If Bill Daley runs for governor it probably will be his. even the democrats who are somewhat fiscal conservatives will think that the Daley autocratic style will cure the State. Throw in a possible run for Mayor by Nora Conroy Daley or Patrick Thompson Daley, or maybe even a federal spot. "It could happen"
Typical fuckin' tactic trying to delay the enevitable (sp). This shit is goin' down Lil Lisa whether ya like it or not.

That would be worse than finding the 666 mark on my kid's head.
Texas is sounding more better. Plus if some jagoff needs to meet his maker, the judges are not afrain to give out the death penalty.
Back when Geo. W. Bush was governor of Texas some media type asked him how he handles it if he learns an innocent person is on death row in Texas.
"W" didn't miss a beat and shot back, "There are no innocent people on death row in Texas."
Love it. Just imagine the peace of mind in not putting up with Illinois' bullshit and living in a state that really works well.

Spot on.
These nut-jobs in the Springfield & Chicago political combine are not going to leave any stone unturned as they square dance down the road of legislative fuckery in order to continue to obstruct a Right that shall not be infringed, as outlined in the Constitution under the Bill of Rights.
All the while the State goes down the tubes as a consequence of many decades of these same politicians fiscal malfeasances.
After all the years and all the killings and all the crimes and all the money wasted on gang banger partnerships and government programs, the usual suspects will NEVER abide by ANY of the laws these morons pass in Illinois and Madiganistan.
At this point, there is little or no doubt that Illinois politicians don't give a crap about public safety. For if they did, they would allow what is legal in 50 other States and what is reaffirmed in the Bill of Rights: the Right for good people, free people, rich or poor, to protect themselves from criminals and/or the impending economic havoc that awaits us because of an inept Legislature and elites who think the shitstorm won't interupt their lifestyle.
It is evident, the goal is to keep the public under the thumb of government and the elities.
They are paving the way for a two-class society. With the middle-class extinct there will be the Rich and everybody else and by everybody else think like most of the indigent masses in Mexico.
$600 dollars for a Rolling Stones ticket in the 200 Section of the United Center??? Forget what you think about the talent one way or the other, that's a car payment...a mortage payment!! And, there Nancy Pelosi sits with three Secret Service Agents that we pay for while there is a sequester and White House tours are eliminated??
Who's paying the $300-$600 bucks? Do the math the 1 percenters. Rest of us, we're eating Top Ramen. I'm not sayin' this Barack-esque rich against poor, I'm saying this as an elite government, Bankster and insiders against the rest of us in a stacked game with the new and old entrapanureal money standing on the sidelines thinking glad I got enough.
That'll last for a while but not for long. Then the Indians will get restless.
Tin-foil cap-ish? Conspiracy? Nut-job talk?
Look at what their doing in Springfield to addres the dire issues the State is facing....NOTHING.
The Pension deficit is growing by something like $400 million plus a year and Madigan is too busy to make it his business to make a phone call to participate in a discussion about getting something done, now?? The guy is basically the Comptroller of the State. In any well run private company his ass would be on the street for such a stunt.
People better wake the fuck up.
Bring the Daley family back. Hope they run the state, county and city.
At least they all have a heart. Bye Rahm, Toni-Tony, and Quinn-less.
If Little Lisa had ANY dreams of southern Dummycrats voting for her she can kiss them good-bye.
Sge is as worthless a piece of shit as he daddy is.
The NRA/ISRA need to sue these assholes individually for civil rights violations under color of law.
They need to be made to list assets.
This is disgusting.

I don't know whether to laugh or SMH - the other 49 states are wrong! The level of arrogance never ceases to amaze me in this God-forsaken town...

"Attorney General Lisa Madigan, for example, has until June 24 to file an appeal asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the decision."
Start contacting her office & asking her not to waste any more tax money and time appealing this:
http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/about/email_ag.jsp
Let's see her give up her security detail.
That would be worse than finding the 666 mark on my kid's head.

well, at least you'd have clout.
if your kid was fond of you, that is.

You're kidding, right?
Just heard RAHM is going to put an extra tax of $1,500. per funeral procession held in Chicago to a church or grave yard.
If any procession goes through Chicago from the burbs the tax will apply.

Blaming anyone bit themselves is the Democrat way.
Edgar started this mess, the Democrats threw fuel on the fire.
potato head will veto the veto proof bill.
everyone with an FOID card should be able to file a class action civil suit against these pricks..this is an in your face, attempt to usurp a federal ruling, the only thing these Chicago idiots understand is when something hit their piggy banks and pockets.
Edgar started this mess, the Democrats threw fuel on the fire.
Hang them all. They've done nothing but let this mess get worse and worse, knowing all the while that this would happen.
Make up the difference from their pension fund. Then hang them anyway. Even those no longer in office.

some of us all ready have....consulted a good attorney as well. Its good practice at not printing, was in the passenger seat when driver i was with got pulled over for speeding and was issued a ticket. Officer never noticed a thing, so i think i "shall carry" on!!!.....
pun intended!

Great idea . Why don't you go ahead and file one.
Even if Quinn signs the law, the wheels in Illinois turn slowly. By the time people get FOID cards, take the required training and get cleared by the state and then their files sent to local police chiefs for objections, how long do you think that will be? A year? More?

Doesn't the bill have a veto-proof majority? It wouldn't matter what Quinn thought of the bill.
Yes, but the legislature is not in session until September.
She can stall all she wants. It will pass sooner or later.
On his own, the Madison Co. state's attorney announced this morning that he will no longer enforce Illinois laws prohibiting concealed carry done in a lawful way:
http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/illinois/madison-county-prosecutor-will-no-longer-enforce-no-carry-law/article_c4fdfbcd-2c30-58f7-b5e1-75196e89e8b8.html
When the UUW prisoners past and present are released they are going to want to get some PAY BACK!
Lisa and Dart are you ready? Mcmouthy ain't !
Concealed carry allowed today. Look out mongrel people, the citizens can now be armed.
