Messy Weekend up to 2 Dead, 16 Maimed
One of the wounded from last night died and the ISP were investigating another:
- A man died and a woman survived a gunshot wound to the chest on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Sunday morning near 71st Street, according to authorities.
The shooting happened between 1 and 1:10 a.m. on the "slip" ramp between 71st Street and 75th Street on the southbound side of the Dan Ryan Expressway.
A third person in the car, a man, survived. Police could be seen talking to a man outside a damaged dark-blue car stopped on the ramp early Sunday morning.
Uh oh....was he "snitching?" Nice photo of the ISP investigating in the Tribune:
Not something you see every day - an entire highway shut down.

At 1st I thought that was the foot patrol.

Or, like several of my partners over the years, they came to work without a flashlight and were waiting to borrow someone else's.

I also observed two motorist toss some gum wrappers from their vehicles while in motion.

That might be the entirety of who was working in North-Eastern Illinois that night...

he was driving the other direction and shot out 3 of the 8 trooper's flashlights on his way back to the Tavern of Logic
In the old days (80s). 8 troopers assigned on Ryan from 290 to 95th. Now one if lucky. Isn't progress great?

Yep it is sad, Thank Gov Hair Do who let their ranks deplete while knowing 40% of them were going to retire while he was in office. Funny you don't see any pics of him from prison because his hair is gray now. No dye jobs in the joint!
