City crying broke over the NATO 6th day award. They have filed an extension to pay order with the courts allowing them a 364 (one day short of a year which is the limit for an extension) to pay the award. If successful that means that expect the pay for the 6th day wont come until just about 1 year from the arbitration award which was about a month ago... What say you FOP?????

Wait a minute, didn't the City get money from the Feds to cover the cost. Also, hasn't the City been spending "leftover" NATO money on other projects?
There was a few million left over from NATO. We don't think all of it was Federal money - there are rules for Federal money and if you misspend it, there are penalties (usually). But Rahm has been giving it away to community groups and parks, knowing that this arbitration hearing was to be decided at some point and it probably wasn't going to be decided in favor of the City.
Hopefully, the FOP points this out to the Arbitrator or whomever is hearing the City's request for extensions. Poor planning on Rahm's part isn't our problem. Getting paid in a timely fashion for work we did over a year-and-a-half ago is.

Our cause is just; however, fighting city hall is usually a loosing proposition in the long run. One way or another the City will probably win out in the end.

Great arrest by 16th district 06 team and Harwood Hights of a 2 man crew of crack heads doing strong armed robberies of older women in 16 and 19. Doing 3 or 4 a day for the last week. Put a 70 yr old woman in the hospital with broken nose and cheek bones. Male white and male black with 80 arrests including 20 yrs for murder.

On a sad note, not one 1st watch car showed up to assist in the chase. Nobody would even answer up to come over and transport the victim. Norridge had to do it. That's pitiful.

OT, But does anyone have knowledge of anyone getting disqualified from the CPD entrance exam? A relative of mine was informed via email, that he was DQ'd due to non payment, yet the fee was paid in full as requested.

But I digress, the original complaint wasn't about how hard it it to get into 16, it was how the ones there, protecting OUR houses (and ther own) are asleep at the wheel literally while the savages prowl out neighborhoods.

I worked the marathon and thought it was a little too much overkill to have swat from CPD and the Feds standing around with carbines. A carbine wouldn't have done shit in boston immediately after the bomb went off. Smoke and mirrors as usual.

I saw the SWAT guys in golf carts wearing SWAT uniforms. Do you know how stupid you look? Just wear you're regular blue uniforms. Are you guys that insecure? Morons is too nice of a word.
Problem with 016 on 1st watch is absolutely no cars available... When early roll call is over literally every officer waits in side the station or parking lot since they have NO cars to use. They have been calling in third watch cars but they end up getting to leave an hour early every day, not their fault but if 1st watch officers want a car third watch officers have to turn theirs in. There are 6 cars, 12 officers in early roll call on 1st watch, not including the wagon which is rarely manned. So after roll call these 12 officers literally stand around the station or in the lot waiting for a vehicle usually for about an hour, also this happens after late roll call at 2230 hrs as well. This dept. is only a notch or two above the Detroit pd. in they it is being run and the equipment and vehicles provided.
Hey NATO! Next time conference at a military base in the middle of nowhere, or on an aircraft carrier at sea, so the taxpayers can save the millions spent protecting you from the human debris that protests as a hobby. But nooooo . . . gotta do this in a big city so the "diplomats" can gorge themselves in fancy restaurants and chase blonde hookers around their three thousand dollar a night hotel suites.
