Still an Asshole
- One of the “NATO 3” protesters facing trial on terrorism charges from protests during last year’s NATO Summit in Chicago has been charged with aggravated battery, accused of squirting a shampoo bottle filled with urine and feces on a Cook County Jail guard.
Prosecutors said Jared Chase squirted the officer with the substance from inside his jail cell on Oct. 4.
Chase, 29, of Keene, N.H., appeared in court Saturday and was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
Remember, "peaceful" protestors. He probably just heard that Cook County runs their sentences concurrently instead of consecutively, so he figures he's safe from additional time.

Evidently in 025 on 3rd watch, officers are playing games with two supervisors. Whenever either Sgt. C.A. or Sgt. C.H. get on the air, someone cuts them off. If they ask for an assist car no one wants to help out. Both Sergeant's are professional and polite. So guys stop messing with them and grow up.
Hopefully the jail guard sues New Hampshire boy.
He may not have much now, but down the line all of these liberal tards want the finer things in life.

Well, that is a valid point, but I for one am over the moon about this. With newer more efficient technology, this can be a money-maker for the neighborhood, as well as a safe place for our teens to play hockey and do competitive level gymnastics. A win for Beverly/Mount Greenwood, as well as the local high schools.

Whenever I notice people leaving early without slips, or coming and going on their own made up schedule, or even just not coming in and being carried for the day without a slip, I wonder if there's a unit like the medical integrity unit, that could very easily record this and match it to a&a's and see quite clearly that everyone from commander to p.o leaves early, and not the occasional duck some boss throws your way, but systemic abuse.
a news camera team looking for sensationalist coverage could also make an issue of a dept. claiming to be stretched thin and in need of overdue increases to resources and pay doling out hours and hours of free time.
matter of fact, take the 45 min. a day given to supervisors for extra time for paperwork. That's 3 hours a week they don't actually stay for and everybody assumes it's just the equivalent of a budgeting gimmick made available to cover a raise in their contract without having to show real money handed out. But their contract says they are expected to actually stay the half hour, not just skirt like it's a perk.
that's over 100 hours a year and over the course of a ten year span as a sergeant that's over a thousand hours...free. not worked, not earned, just given, like a government subsidy. Like a federal program, or an entitlement, like welfare.
and that's just sergeants. We haven't even gotten to scratching the surface in terms of millions in top heavy management payroll for salaries in the six figures for people who don't do any police work whatsoever...for years on end, then retire to your pension money and on to some clouted second job for another padded salary for another job they will never do.
We need more money and more cops but we also need the ones we have to do their 8 for 8.

you didn't read what 'propaganda master' said. the post makes it clear we're not talking about supervisor's discretion here. You can't balance out an imaginary "45 minutes" o.t. for a late arrest.
1. it doesn't happen anymore nearly as much as the disappearing act pulled off by the usual back door creepers and
2. anytime anybody stays late they make sure to turn in that blank slip expecting a little extra, cuz ain't nobody falling for the 'I'll take care of you tomorrow' line).
as for the usual complaint about the newcomers and the 2 year requirement, the last class hired off the H.S. only list was 1997.
If they are watching, there's plenty to see that runs past the occasional rotation of ducks here and there. It's the systemic abuse you say balances out that's gonna make us all look bad when it falls way, way short of balancing out when those taking entire days are exposed for the ghost payrolling that goes on in some places when you're inside, or wearing bars and gold stars.

Easy to sue and get a judgement if he doesn't have anything. He sure won't be able to afford a good lawyer to mount much of a defense. Then one day he may win the lottery or get an insurance settlement or inherit something and that judgement will just sit there until that day.
The union ought to fund that one for the guard. Then if there ever is a payout, the union gets it's legal fees back.
In the 1980's two policemen were murdered by the Wilson Brothers. Their families sued them to prevent either of them from getting anything in their lawsuits or from books or anything. They succeeded in getting judgements against both Wilsons.
