One Bidder
- Federal officials considered only one firm to design the Obamacare health insurance exchange website that has performed abysmally since its Oct. 1 debut.
Rather than open the contracting process to a competitive public solicitation with multiple bidders, officials in the Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Medicare and Medicaid accepted a sole bidder, CGI Federal, the U.S. subsidiary of a Canadian company with an uneven record of IT pricing and contract performance.
CMS officials are tight-lipped about why CGI was chosen or how it happened. They also refuse to say if other firms competed with CGI, or if there was ever a public solicitation for building Healthcare.gov, the backbone of Obamacare’s problem-plagued web portal.
Gee, a Canadian firm with no competing bids for a program that is supposed to somehow run fully one-sixth of the US economy. What could possibly go wrong....besides everything.

Forbes has a good article about how the Obamacare Website is so befuddled because people have to enter all their information before they can get a quote. That is so Obama can calculate the credits -- and people see the net, not the full price. Probably because they'd have strokes and heart attacks once they saw the real premiums.
Does anyone know who was given the contract for the police entrance exam?

an aside; If the lamestream media exerted 1/16 the effort looking into Obama's murky - questionable - and dark past (gay church murders), as they did in going after Bush's fucking dental records in 2004 vs John 'I was in Vietnam' Kerry, Obama would be nothing but a footnote in history. Unbelievable???? Remember the Crown Vic's you drove?......they were ALL made in Canada...every last one of them before FORD shut down production.
What's new about this? Obama's done it before, Bush did no-bid contracts for 2 wars. Old news here. Same old same ole.
Maybe he should have had Putin take the lead on this one too.
And now I hear that Forbes IT people investigated the site and called it a "fake" website. All information entered by visitors goes directly to the NSA. That's why the new Utah NSA facility, that opened the same week, melted down, literally. Obamacare is a fraud, ponzi scheme, designed to make people pay if they join, pay if they don't... Calculation for two of us comes out to $1,000/mo for 80/20 coverage...no thanks.

A little off topic, there has been some reporting that the Obama Administration was more prepared for the gov't shutdown then they were prepared for the Clusterfuck Care roll-out and that the Administration made sure the shutdown happened.
The reportage theroy goes, it takes six to eight months for govt expendeture approvals to go through the procurement pipeline.
And, govt is notoriously slow to act as we have seen with Katrina, the BP oil spill and the N.E. Hurricane.
Yet, right after the shutdown, parks were closed and manned with personel to keep citizens out, signs were put up,a tarp put over Mt. Rushmore and hazard cones were put along scenic views in record time. Have we EVER seen such hyper response from govt?
It was also noted in the reporting that the signs put up were brand new custom signs with the appropriate logos for govt agency on the signs. That takes months to requisition. The Barrycades were put up immediately and appear to be new.
Some say the sinage was left over from the last shutdown 17 years ago. Right. A government that lost the original Apollo 11 moon landing video is capeable of storing and finding such signs 17 years later.
If accurate and it fits the m.o. of a community organizer/agitator people ought to look in to when the stuff was bought.
