Youth Shootings Are Down!
- The youth violence that has too often drawn a national spotlight on Chicago has taken a significant dip, a new analysis shows.
According to a report obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, shooting incidents involving victims 16 and younger last year dropped 40 percent over 2012.
Shooting incidents involving Chicago Public Schools students more than halved — dropping 56 percent so far this school year, compared to August through January 21 of the previous school year, according to the city's analysis.
Notice they use "school year" as a measure. And they only are looking at "youths."
Did you know that shootings among blind one-legged mongoloid immigrants has fallen to record levels, too? Nothing like narrowing the category in order to push a statistical agenda.
And then there's something else that might have had an effect on shootings.....what could it be again?

That returning po's that were activated by the military and sent over to Iraq or Afganistan and received serious injuries are now not covered by the 12 month limited duty rule. The 12 month limited duty limit and then take ordinary disability does not apply to them. That is one change he just implemented and a great one.

Why should they. Its been going on in the CPD and former bosses for at least 40 years, probably longer. Do you really believe McCarthy is the first to fudge the books. That why the FBI started the uniform crime reporting, because the bosses played with the stats. Hes not the first won't be the last.

PORTLAND, Ore. – The man who shot himself in the testicles during a robbery and shooting Tuesday night was booked into jail on assault and robbery charges Thursday, police said.
Joseph Johnson, 40, also faces one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
Portland police said Johnson and the victim, 32-year-old Jordan Merrell, lived in the same building and knew each other before the robbery.
According to Sgt. Pete Simpson, Johnson demanded property from Merrell during a confrontation in the parking lot behind their building and shot Merrell in the leg.
“As Johnson ran from the scene, he shoved the gun into the front of his waistband and shot himself in the testicles,” Simpson said in a news release.
An officer later spotted Johnson talking to a woman nearby. Simpson said Johnson fell to the ground when he tried to run away.
Investigators learned that Johnson’s handgun was stolen.
Jordan Merrell is still in the hospital recovering from injuries that are not life-threatening, Simpson said.
