Crossing Lines

If you'd like to read what we consider to be the most in-depth and thorough investigation of how Anthony Porter got away with a double murder and managed to get rid of the Illinois Death Penalty under false pretenses via skillful media manipulation, then click on this link RIGHT HERE.

We have no idea where to begin quoting the lengthy article, and if we did, it would be unfair the the writing as a whole. We first became aware of this article being under construction when we stumbled across a series of YouTube videos by a CPD Officer, Martin Preib.

Preib, an author of some renown apparently, skillfully presented interviews with people we had never heard of, taking down the entire Porter case and the circus surrounding it. The blog posting linked above appears to be the culmination of the investigative work that no one in the media bothered to do at the time. Porter was guilty as hell, yet managed to get sprung, created a celebrity persona and managed a media campaign to turn justice upon her head.

Set aside a bit of time today and read it.

UPDATE: Some of our copy/paste went awry and duplicated a section of the writing. We tightened it up

Unbelievable.

SCC,

Thanks so much for the post.

This article came from a book I have written, about the Porter case and several others, that just became available, called Crooked City, on Amazon. Obviously, I'd be grateful for any interest in it.

Thanks Again. I think that currently there are a great deal of positive trends that will help end the abuses in this movement.

A real hero in this story is retired journalist Bill Crawford, who taught me much of what I know about the Porter case. Crawford has spent years fighting to get this story out. No one in Chicago's media would touch this story except for New City.

His in-depth account of the Porter travesty, called Chimera, is on my website, crookedcity.org Well worth the read. Totally fascinating.

Thanks again, SCC.

If one, not only followed the timeline of our investigation but the whole investigation itself, one can see that Dennis and I were not guilty of any wrong doings! Obama Administration Embeds "Government Researchers" To Monitor Media Organizations

Submitted by Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

Last week, I highlighted the fact that the latest Press Freedom Index showcased a 13 point plunge in America’s press freedom to an embarrassing #46 position in the global ranking. If the authoritarians in the Obama Administration have their way, this country is set to fall much further in next year’s index.

Incredibly, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is set to roll out something called the Critical Information Needs study, which will embed government “researchers” into media organizations around the nation to make sure they are doing their job properly.

No this isn’t “conspiracy theory.” It is so real, and represents such a threat to the First Amendment, that a current FCC commissioner, Ajit Pai, recently wrote an Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal, warning Americans of this scheme. He writes:....

The duty of socialists is to practice subversion in order to undermine society. That's why they support all manner of debauchery. What's bad is good to them. Do you recall Northwestern having a live sex show for their students? Yes, this is what the parents were paying for. Protess' students offered sex to their "witnesses" for a new version of the story. Does this sound like good investigative technique?

When they paint the police as bad and the gangsters as good, they are merely doing their job as good socialists. You vote for them when you vote democratic.

Northwestern has Bill Ayers' wife, a communist revolutionary with blood on her hands, as a law professor. What did you expect out of them with their journalism department? The media is a propaganda branch of the socialists who want to break America.

Now you see what you get for supporting the democratic machine.

That was an excellent, well written article. One thing that struck me as odd though, is the difficulty of getting the states attorney to approve charges during the initial murder investigation, yet it seems that the states attorney had no problem believing Protess and his students without question.

FTA: "After Protess and his students announced Porter was innocent and Simon was guilty, and prosecutors accepted their claims, things got even worse for the detectives."

Why is it that the ASA's make seasoned detectives jump through hoops to approve charges but don't do the same for some liberal college professor and his Nancy Drew wannabe students?

I am anti-death penalty, retired former police officer/detective. I know Salvatore for many years and he is an honest, forthright individual who would never torture or intimidate witnesses and would never add false hoods to his reports.Protess anc ciolina have been shown to be liars and inept at an investigation. Ciolina even wrote a book" In The Company of Giants" about wrongful convictions. You should read it sometime. Yes, there are innocent people in jail, some estimates as high as 10%, some as low as 5%. Yes, there are poor investigations by the police, but most are well done with good safeguards by prosecutors ( generally). Eric Zorn, a left wing liberal will never write an apology, for anything. It is not in his nature. The fact that he based a column on hearsay speaks for itself. Quinn? Well we all have out opinion of him. Former Gov. convict who freed these convicted murders? Disgraced as he should have been. Most of the things written about wrongful convictions were colored by the burge cases, some of which were pretty bad. Now, every case that came through area 2/3 during the 70s & 80s claim torture by detecttives who worked under burge. hard to sort out 20 to 30 years later. My hat goes off for this article.

Agenda driven radical “justice” academic cabals coupled with personal wealth enhancement seeking lawyers routinely exercise questionable, often unethical and sometimes criminal behaviors in these so called innocence and wrongful convictions made for t.v. productions. These “ truth ” seekers and righteous minded loons often clothe themselves in mantra suggesting justice, fairness, equity and the correction of civil rights injustices. They proclaim these values as their cause. In reality, it’s the money and the expected payouts which are the true motivators. Money talks. Big money screams. An aside, wasn’t Northwestern’s Medill school of journalism the host of a seminar promoting Marxism and the partnership with Chicago public school “educators” in Nov 2012? Radical undertones and revolution was encouraged and communicated to our children’s educators at a top ranked school of objective journalism. NU is rahm’s alma mater.

It’s sad that the felonious Anthony Porter with a well documented track record of violent gun-related criminal behavior was promoted as an innocent victim of the legal system. Do these do-gooder scholars have a conscious? Its interesting how this obviously concocted wrongful conviction conspiracy nonsense was quickly accepted by elected officials as gospel and was immediately used as basis to justify a change in public policy namely the death penalty sentence to the detriment of an orderly society. The death penalty was abolished and the Illinois liberals had a wet dream come true. When convicted murders themselves are immune from a sentence of death, does it not cheapen the lives of those whom they murdered by placing a greater value on the criminal’s life than the dead victim’s?

Great piece of writing – well done.
Might as well slap me upside the head for being so naïve. I always put up with/forgave do-gooders, regardless of their errant causes, because I believed (1)in their First Amendment rights & (2) at least they were sparkly clean (sincere/authentic) and honest.
But this article is devastating…so disheartening. It documents the series of ugly travesties that changed our state’s history. So many lives have been upturned because the project’s agenda was compromised and stupid pols & citizens were misled by seemingly genuine and truthful (however misdirected) libtards.
Aside from repeatedly dragging the Porter victims’ families through the courts (horrific sacrifices), I am upset that the integrity of the detectives/officers involved was so readily, even eagerly, smeared. It’s the same‘journalists’ who keep referring to Manning/Mandell as an ‘ex-cop” when in fact he was thrown off the force over 20 years ago.
The entire Medill crew should be tarred and feathered – then shamefully paraded through the streets as the frauds they are – with Protess at the lead.
Officers: KNOW that there are many many people out there who appreciate the work you do (well except Laura Kubiak & undeserving jerks like her). You make a HUGE difference. You are valued and we care. Be safe out there and God Bless.

The cops have been screaming about this b/s for years, only to fall on deaf ears by the media and the political in Chicago.

I remember when Northwestern University's wrongful conviction movement was gaining media attention. I thought, back then, that no one would take their position seriously.

Who would believe convicted felons, and WHY would any sensible human being believe their BS?

The complete debacle of the Aaron Paterson case helped ease the worrying in my head that the public would take these (Protess) North Shore goofs seriously.

So I ignored it all, thinking that this would go nowhere.

But they pressed on, and the media backed every case of their BS.

Today, I find out that many of the Chicago media are from Northwestern University and know Protess intimately.

What the public doesn't know about many of these wrongful conviction cases is that most of them are won because the witnesses change their testimony -- years after the fact.

They win cases because eyewitnesses die off and new witnesses are miraculously found to support the defendant.

This is a fact, not an opinion.

We are evil, we fight tooth and nail against those who prey on the weak and the hopeless. We seek vengeance on those who kill and rob others.

And we're not stopping because you found some bullshit intriguing story.

Each one of you took this case to another level, perhaps for your own benefit, perhaps because you don't know the people of Chicago at all.

You assholes painted us as vengeful dullards, incompetent dingbats who hide from the truth, and fold under media pressure.

Sorry dickheads, we don't.

The readership at the "Huffpost" will follow you diligently and buy your bullshit.

The truth is that the majority of the black community, those who I serve justly and with pride, don't buy your bullshit either.

Porter was a real bad guy; he killed two people in a dope related robbery. Now he's out because of you fucking self- serving reporters pressed the political machine for years.

Now Porter's out, Protess got fired for lying, and the cops in Chicago are crooked and the crooked are victims of the cops.

The Northwestern crew used that same BS to spring Nicole Harris free after being sentenced to 20 yrs after only doing 7 for strangling her 3 yr old son to death with an elastic bed sheet cord. The jury found her guilty in about 2 hrs and that's including lunch. Her then 7 yr old stated he was sleeping at the time. Judge L Schultz the trial judge found the 7 yr old incompetent to testify after asking him so easy questions. When interviewed by 2 separate CAC workers, the 7 yr old told 1 he was sleeping and the other his brother was playing spider man Fast forward 6 yrs now that shit Northwestern group reaches out and has the kid lie and said he saw his brother rap the sheet around his neck to play Spider-Man. When the victim was found it was wrapped around the victims neck 8 times. The case was appealed 2 times by NW and was upheld by the courts. The third an final appeal was up held by the higher court stating that the trial judge should of allowed the 7 yr to testify and ordered her immediate release pending a new trial. Needless to say Anita and her clan refused to retry her being afraid the now 13 yr old will lie on the stand. Maybe the guy who did the follow up can look into this. Nicole Harris

The detectives cannot sue Northwestern because of Statute of Limitations. However, Alstory Simon, who was framed for Porter's murders, can sue Northwestern. This is what Northwestern is terrified of.

It's time the union stepped up and demand that Protess and Ciolino be indicted and that Simon be freed.

Simon can then sue the university. The monumental evidence that would come out in discovery would be a disaster for the entire wrongful conviction movement.

The union absolutely must demand that Protess/Ciolino be indicted and that Simon be released.

Everything hinges on that.

Yes, he and Dougherty claim another copper filed charges against Aguilar. Aguilar used that fact as his excuse not to answer any questions regarding this at the general meeting.

Aguilar is accused of using the FOP's email list of members and retired members to send out mass emails about him in the election. Wives etc. and family members also got these emails. Aguilar did not ask permission, Aguilar was not supposed to do this. The other candidates did not have access to this list and would have been refused had they asked.

100% of these freed criminal dirtbags belonged in prison. If not for the actual crimes they were incarcerated for, then the multitude of other felonies they were guilty of but never charged. Not one of these mutts are "innocent" men.

Great job, thank you for opening our eyes to all of this disgusting liberal bs! Then this scumbag gets not only gets out of a double murder, but makes thousands and thousands of dollars off of it. What a tragedy. Thank you for some excellent journalism!

Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to
be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked while people
consider worries that they just don't know about. You managed
to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
