Shortshanks is Sick

Taken to the hospital after feeling disoriented and semi-coherent. Witnesses say it was almost like he had just finished a federal deposition:
  • Former Mayor Richard M. Daley was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital Friday evening after suffering possible stroke-like symptoms while in Arizona, a source told Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed.

Daley, 71, was taken there by ambulance after he felt ill following a business trip in Arizona, according to a Daley spokesman.

The health scare came on the same day his nephew Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in David Koschman’s killing.
We would like to join our readers in wishing a speedy recovery to the former mayor and many more years of exceptional health - after all, how will he ever serve his time in federal prison if he isn't around to stand trial?

What odd news reporting we have in Chicago.
First, abc reported he took ill WHILE in Arizona on law firm business and 'was flown back to Chicago' for treatment and that he felt disoriented on the flight, but walked to the ambulance under his own power once they arrived at O'Hare. (sounds like a private plane? they offered no details on that)

Now, Jackie Heard (why does a private citizen STILL need a spokesperson, anyway?) announces he first got sick ON a plane, on the way back from Arizona.

And, it is claimed he's only being kept in intensive care for PRIVACY REASONS? (So, now your level of medical care is dictated by your need for 'privacy'? A private room wouldn't serve the stated purpose?
Something stinks here. As usual.

Former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley hospitalized with stroke like symptoms after hearing his nephew R.J. Vanecko is cooperating with FBI

The R.J. Vanecko manslaughter cover up lands in Richie Daley's lap

Feds now have to wait to interview Daley...

He must be sick that he can't allow his family to get away with murder any more.

In the past, his son could bash a kid's head in with a baseball bat up in Michigan, set up corrupt sewer companies, drive drunk and start fights, flip off the military and it was all taken care of.

Now one of the clan got a slap on the wrist and only some of the clan got taken care of for lying and obstructing justice. This was enough to send Shortshanks to the ER.

Let's see...
What would be the most appropriate thing to say about Richard M. Daley aka Shortshanks - King Of All Thieves?

Ah! A quote...

"I've never killed a man but I've read many an obituary with a great deal of satisfaction."

- Clarence Darrow

Of course, it would be a pity if Daley escapes the Lawman and the Hangman.

We envision sometime in the future when Chicago has decayed to parity with Port-Au-Prince Haiti...

Heh... The restless natives dug up ol' Papa Doc Duvalier and paraded his decayed ass around to not inconsiderable fanfare.

Thus be it ever for tyrants...

No doubt the powers that be will demand all hands on deck and for an overblown, Rahm orchestrated show of state mourning for this stuttering kleptocrat who destroyed this city and set the stage to destroy this Police Department.

>A long, wet drawn out fart noise and the sound of a big bucket being kicked<

No tears of care or concern here...

Want to keep corruption going? Vote City Wide, Mark needs to keep two pensions (selling us out) and a pay check (selling out). Plus his eyes and ears in the mix for Fran Hurley. The state rep that City Wide Mark Donahue and little Billy D. backed against one of our very own. The same State rep that is for Gay marriage, Abortion, and voted to lower State pensions. How do you think the former Ruguai secretary will vote when its our turn.

Wasnt Mark president when RJ took our pension money and managed some property that he rented back to the city at a loss to us?
How about wage compression. Sounded great right. Not really, You see we no longer have a 30 year step raise. But hey we get 2.25% and can retire earlier at 50. Wait till you get your next contract. Not 50, gonna be 53 or 55. So your working those extra years anyway with one less raise.
Especially they vote in Springfield, where Mark is our guy. We would look stupid if this all came to light. He is the Shortshanks of FOP.

I'd say how could you tell he's acting different from any other day? Being disoriented and semi-coherent is actually an improvement from his memory lapses, all-consuming disorientation and his completely incoherent state at press conferences and when trying to explain his numerous public scandals.

I'd say he's improving, not getting sick! Hopefully we'll see him walking down Michigan Ave. in a bathrobe and slippers holding out a tin can.

If the feds could never get him, hopefully Karma can. There would be a waiting line to piss on his grave.

Anyone who thinks Daley hasn't had Webb's report in his hands for months, is delusional.

He and his crime family know everything that's going on and everything that will be coming down the road. I have no doubt that this is just the beginning of an elaborate ruse to repeatedly file motions on his behalf to put off the Feds depositions due to his frail and declining health.

When the stuttering prick perishes, all of the secrets will perish with him and his kids will walk off with the hundreds of millions of dollars that their daddy scammed from honest, hard working Chicagoans.

There's a special place in hell waiting for Richie... hope he twists and burns for eternity.

Of course they only release partial details of this buffoons current illness. And they can't even keep their lies straight when saying nothing.

Why do they have to say his kids insisted he go to the hospital? Is it a sign of weakness for a man to want to go to the hospital if he feels ill?

What I really want to know -who is paying for his stay in intensive care at northwestern hospital intensive care unit? What health insurance policy covers ISU just for observation? Will my forced retiree obamacare health insurance cover me too if I demand to stay in ISU for observation?

Another excuse they gave is that he is in ISU for security reasons. Isn't the city of Chicago still paying for Daleys bodyguards, even though he is retired? Couldn't they stand guard outside of a regular hospital room? All of northwestern hospitals rooms are private anyway.

Yea, I am praying for his outcome real hard.

Last time I checked, Dougherty's team was responsible for the legislation that was passed and scheduled to begin next year that will fix our pensions. TO 2/02/2014 03:11:00 AM: Another genius at the helm. I can't believe it took someone this long to bring up this tidbit.

First, nobody, let me repeat that nobody took any of our pension money. Ever.

Wage compression is a good thing. Used to be you had to work 34 years to get a max pension (top salary at 30 with 4 years at that salary). Now you only have to work 29 years to get the same thing (top salary at 25 with four years at that salary). Of course there isn't a 30 year mark. Who needs it? Even if you came on at twenty-one, you could retire with a maxed pension at 50.

Finally, the contract has nothing to do with when you can retire. Our pension is controlled by the legislature.

Now, go back into the basement and ask Mom for another grilled cheese and hot cocoa.

"In Illinois, felonies are those crimes that are punishable by the death penalty or a term of one year or more in state prison. (720 Ill. Comp. Stat. § 5/2-7.)."

...so 60 days in a county jail of the defendant's choosing makes perfect sense.

Fine demonstration of "equal justice under the law."

It was Citywide. It wasn't disability Dean. It certainly was not McDonagh. They probably don't even know what the law is.

And, stop lying. Mark does not have two pensions. And Mikey is the one that didn't send the letter. No one else. Pathetic. Why did the Angelo team vote to find Shields not guilty of failing to send the letter? Why did Team Angelo allow Mike to choose his own judge and jury? Those are questions that need answering.

This is the way Democrats handle it when they know the hammer is dropping. Like his pal Jesse Jr, who was rushed to the hospital just before he was indicted, Daley is all of a sudden sick, which coincidentally happened just as his pos nephew gets a VERY light sentence. (RJ is squealing like a stuck pig.)

Soon comes the indictment and public humiliation of the fallen king, and he hopes his "illness" will make great big crocodile tears fall from the limp, saddened faces of all the court jesters who sucked his balls for the past two decades.

A famous man once said "There he was alone - no reporters, no security, no adoring public, no trappings of power. Just one solitary man alone with his thoughts. And that mental picture continually serves to remind me of the impermanence of power and the impermanence of place."

(OT) this has been played before the minutes of the meeting with Mike Shields and the board very interesting behind closed doors;

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EP4Ai2fy3yA

The most interesting part is where Anna speaks out and says "the problem is membership finally got ahold of this information" wow! Clean Slate came to our roll call and was asked about pension and they hemmed and did not have an answer! The union guys feel it's not their fault the pension has been raided another clean slate guy said "it does not concern me" really, you guys want the huge $160,000 a year salary which pads your pension but it does not concern you! This job is not a starter kit we had that already sorry noway no how we don't need more amateurs this is crucial!

Now with a great outlet like SCC we do get ahold of information, and the goof who made a video that is running making fun of an obviously handicapped guy in your Cush unit the link will be posted soon, I have a sister who is mentally challenged also you scumbag liar, I have never ever got a cr number on a copper and never will but you got a few on coppers but the video you made plain dumb! How about wage compression. Sounded great right. Not really, You see we no longer have a 30 year step raise. But hey we get 2.25% and can retire earlier at 50. Wait till you get your next contract. Not 50, gonna be 53 or 55. So your working those extra years anyway with one less raise.

2/02/2014 03:11:00 AM

We get the thirty year step raise at 25 years. The guys who were at 30 years got a flat 3.5% and that was that. The rate they they were getting, the 30 year rate, was compressed to 25 years, the union knew they would complain that they were getting nothing out of that raise so they got the 3.5% or whatever it was. No one else got it and once those 30 year plus people retired, that was the end of it.

People are still complaining that they missed out but they didn't, they get that top scale 5 years earlier. That way after 4 years at that rate they retire at 29 and a day at top wages.

I imagine people will complain about that as long as some are still alive thinking they lost out.

John Garrido was NEVER investigated by the FBI for anything!

This is an old beef that hurt a lot of good coppers in 025 that worked security for Johnny G at Jacobs Twin Buick. There are still many that hate John over it and had to amend their tax returns to avoid federal prosecution.

John Garrido received an unfounded allegation/confidential CR# that he was committing tax evasion/deceptive practice, via check forgery, by issuing and then cashing payroll checks in fictitious names to various CPD members that worked at Jacobs Twin Buick for him.

One of the coppers working for him and now terminated (M.A.) was going through a messy divorce and his wife dropped the dime to the IRS and IAD.

Nobody got indicted but a few good coppers got jammed up and had to pay substantial back taxes and penalties.

Ask anyone that was in 025 back in the day about this.

The retirement age was 55 as recently as the 1970's. Gradually it was lowered until they got it to 50 years of age. That is another of those unfunded pension sweeteners we got in lieu of a raise. Trouble is, it was not paid for by anyone. It only served to drain the pension fund faster.

Thus, the current raising of the retirement age to 55, back where it was in the 1970's. If it had been paid for back then, an increase in our contribution plus an increase in the City's contribution, we would have plenty of grounds to fight hard to keep it. As it is, we got a bunch of pension enhancements that were not funded by anyone. Like the gold braid. The city (and retirees) kept getting enhancements with no corresponding increase in funding. That only goes so long before the fund dwindles. That and loans to political heavyweights etc.

Don't look for any more unfunded pension enhancements. Now we are fighting just to keep the basics.

Wrong Wron wgong. The compression was the elimination of the 30m year step raise unless you were alraedy at it. The 25 year raise became top rate for service. About 4 Thousand less than the 30 year raise. So with this new contract coming up which deducts percentages if you are under age 55 your going to lose money or work for 3-5 years more at a lower rate that was once in play, the 30 year step raise. Giving you 3000 dollars less a year in pension benifits. Mark get 2 pension check from city and state lodges, plus 129 grand for his lobbyist puppet spot were he gave us a very compatnt telephone answering secreatary, passing up a police man that is a lawyer.

Nobody's (well a few) staying on this job 30 years anymore. Most are getting the hell out ASAP. Of course, then you have the do-nothing mutts in soft CMO spots who stay until they're booted out at 63.

More of that experience City wide is preaching:

The labor board ruled against fop that if fop throws you out It must pay all fair share members back dues plus interest. How much did this cost members in legal fees

The IL Labor Boards decision (on page 2) says ALL fair share payors get 30 months of dues plus interest back.

I got one too but mine was to my private email address that was the email registered for the smartphone FOP app!

The business trip to Arizona was to meet with the red light company. That's where they're based out of.

It may also be that the law firm that he works for that represents the parking meter company wanted to find a suitable arid climate for the owners of the parking meters. They are from Dubai in the Middle East.

See how Daley helped Chicago?

I don't know of any hospitalization insurance policy that will pay for hospitalization for observation and testing, let alone for ICU under those circumstances. This must be costing someone a lot of out of pocket money.

And the Mounted Police were started long before Jane Byrne was mayor.

2/02/2014 11:56:00 PM

You got that one wrong and I can prove it. the old 30 year step (Step 11) became the new 25 year step (Step 10) and so on. (The old Step 11 was them eliminated since it became the new Step 10)

The pertinent part of that contract, which states exactly what I just wrote, is on page 77 of that contract.

Here is the link to that contract:

http://chicagofop.org/contract/contract_03-07.pdf

Section 26-1, A. Salary Schedule.

The top rate is now Step 10 which was the old step 11. Step 11 was then eliminated and all those who were already at Step 11 got a percentage increase until they retired, then that went away.

"Vanecko, 39, had just pleaded guilty to one felony count of involuntary manslaughter..."

"Involuntary manslaughter is typically classified as a Class 3 felony in Illinois. Someone convicted of this charge can face up to five years in jail."

"In Illinois, felonies are those crimes that are punishable by the death penalty or a term of one year or more in state prison. (720 Ill. Comp. Stat. § 5/2-7.)."

...so 60 days in a county jail of the defendant's choosing makes perfect sense.

You are right. When I retired 7 years ago with over 30 years on, I was one of the last to get the 30 years raise. There was something about it being good for a few years.
One thing for sure, the 30 year raise was eliminated and not put into the compression. Anyone that believes that is a fool. Go back and look at the wages in the contract and you will see

Go to FOP website and read page 62 of the old contract 2007-2012

It states no addional officer will eneter into step 11 after Dec 31,2005. Officers who are not in step 11 as of Jan 1,2006 will achieve their maximum rate at the 25 years rate, step 10. Step 11 was eliminated .
On Jan 1,2007 a D-1 with over 30 yrs was paid $80,736 but on the new contract pay scale which eliminated the 30 year raise a D1 with 25 yrs received $78,006.
A D2a was receiving $87,354 with a 30 yr rate but on Jan 1,2007 with no 30 yr rate in the new contract he was receiving $84,432 with the max 25 year rate
Guys lost alot of money

Daley staying in intensive care

By Hal Dardick
Tribune reporter
5:44 AM CST, February 3, 2014

Former mayor Richard M. Daley will stay at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s intensive care unit at least through mid-week to undergo further testing after he fell ill Friday while on a business trip to Scottsdale, Ariz.

Daley, 71, is alert and in good spirits, but doctors want to pin down the cause of his ailment before he leaves, said Jacquelyn Heard, a longtime aide and spokeswoman for the Katten Muchin Rosenman law firm where Daley is of counsel. "He may be here until mid-week, if not longer," Heard said.

Daley felt ill Friday afternoon during a conference he was attending with members of his firm, Heard said. He was still feeling ill and disoriented when he boarded the plane home, she said.

The former mayor's family was aware of the situation and had an ambulance waiting when his plane returned in Chicago on Friday, Heard said.
---

My retiree health insurance refused to approve an MRI for a pre-cancerous liver condition. Pay for it myself I was told.

Last year an ambulance took me to Northwestern. I got the bill. Another fight with the goddamned city to get them to zero it out. Pricks.

So who OK's the stay in ICU for the stuttering prick? How is that medically necessary and my fucking MRI is not? How do I get a bill for a city ambulance after a career of service here and shortshanks get an ambulance and I am sure police cars taking his corrupt ass from O'Hare to Northwestern?

And why didn't those paramedics throw his ass on the expressway partway downtown and just say, "mayor? what mayor? we didn't see no stinkin mayor? we don't got to take no stinkin mayor nowhere!"

Blow me you suckhole. Go suck the little clinkers out of Daley's ass you lackey. The Daley's are the Royals here. Do you really think they would call a PRIVATE ambulance? And pay for it? Fuck you. You can bet your daughter's virginity that it was CFD. These assholes don't think any other way. They are born with a sense of entitlement for all things born from the taxpayers.

Why do you think Daley still has a cadre of on duty police bodyguards? Any reasonable person would think that it is reasonable to not accept the police bodyguards after a short transition period.

Does former mayor Jane Byrne get police bodyguards? How about Rudy Guiliani? Bloomberg? I doubt it. But you can bet the mortgage that Daley does and will until death.

Um, speaking from experience, not quite. I won't go into detail here, but unclouted may get to a different hospital if it is not life threatening. Just saying.

You only proved your an idiot. step 11 eliminated means no more 30 years step raise. You could never yeach the 30 year step raise which was always 3-4 grand more. we lost it with Mark selling it as a great thing for quicker retirement. The guy that said retirement was 55 and then lowered to 50 as a sweetener that was never funded is more then likely right. So now your going back to 55 and no 30 year step raise. So your out 3-4 grand a year.
But you and MR. Clean Elections are preaching to the uniformed with member in the know tag line. Your really a member that wants us in the dark so City Wide can continue the propaganda and lies its sold for years.

Last time I checked, Dougherty's team was responsible for the legislation that was passed and scheduled to begin next year that will fix our pensions. It's called the ARC or Actuarial Required Contribution. It means the City will finally be required to fund our pension properly. This piece of legislation ensures our pension is funded at 90% by 2040.

It was NOT Mark or Bill that did jack shit in the ARC. State put that in for all pension funds not specific to Chicago. As a matter of FACT. Mark and backed Fran Hurley a 19th ward telephone answering system to the State Legislature who has already voted to screw the State Employees and will soon be doing us. Quit drinking the Kool-aid for a free pen or ice scrapper from City wide. Mark DOES get 2 (thats more then 1) pensions. 1 for Chicago PLUS 1 for State. (add it up big boy). He also gets 6 figure salary as a FOP lobbyist. (from you dipshit.) The only thing the guy has ever lobbied is his way into getting paid for not working as a police officer and fucking the guys on the street. A street cop works harder then anyone of the City Wide guys do now and gets paid less. Every once in a while they spend a few dollars on you for a grease wheel from their expense account that they usually buy themselves dinner a Gibsons.

At least Daley's bullshit management style gave some CPS teachers their version of the ghetto lottery.....A group of Clemente HS teachers who lost their jobs due to their school going to a IB curriculum recently won a class action lawsuit vs. CPS.....each teacher in the lawsuit will get full teacher salaries with lane adjustments, COLA, & pension and medical benefits for the rest of their 'CPS teaching' lives to be substitute teachers for CPS....and they get paid sick/vacation days too!

Next up is the same type of class action lawsuit filed by 17 Lincoln Park HS teachers.

Here's a better explanation and a link of the Clemente teachers crap:

Apparently, the Clemente teachers signed the IB contracts and agreed to and went to the mandatory summer IB training sessions and then the principal let them go.

The (20) Clemente teachers let go averaged $84K and will now work as subs. If subs work 181 days, the most they can make is $28K. So, CPS is paying these subs an extra $1.2M/year.

Understanding what IB schools are all about......
Technically, any school with an IB program is called an “IB school.” Since “IB school” is used as shorthand, it’s important to ask how students participate in IB at any given school. It’s most straightforward at IB elementary schools, where IB is part of every class school-wide. But in middle school and high school that may not be the case. Some middle and high schools are 100 percent IB, but not all. For example, at many high schools there is an IB program that kids may opt into, much like attending a school within a school. If that’s the case, students may participate in IB at different levels, ranging from taking a single IB course to earning an IB diploma, which involves taking a full course load of IB classes and meeting a series of requirements. Given this range, it’s crucial to ask what your local school offers and allows.

Take notice the comments in the link below as it shows the bickering going on in the CTU:
