Hey Look - Snow
- April showers are supposed to bring May flowers, but Friday morning it was more like May flurries.
Snow was reported in “too many towns to count” in the northern and northwestern regions, including Hoffman Estates, Wonder Lake, Lincolnshire and Lake Zurich, National Weather Service Meteorologist Amy Seeley said.
The flakes started falling about 5 a.m., thanks to a combination of cool overnight temperatures in the 30s and 40s and a low-pressure system, the weather service said.
- Chicago police have launched a homicide investigation after a 38-year-old man was found dead in an Austin alley of apparent head trauma. In addition there were at least five other people shot in the city Thursday into Friday morning, officials said.
Evidently, it just slows it down a little bit.

Whatever your personal politics on the Hundred Club, please get past them and remember this man was sincere and unwavering in his desire to help the families of our fallen. Many surviving family members received financial help, emotional solace and educational benefits thanks to him. May he rest well now, whole and happy again.

Uh -- weren't we advised to be real careful about hauling in firewood? "Infected wood spreads the bugs around, don't do it." I think I know where some of the last infestation we had came from -- back lot of a company that imported a lot of machinery from China, and piled up the half-cured lumber, torn-up wooden crates.
Shouldn't this material be piled up and burned?

Maybe you all should address that with the few that act like high schooler's and let them know where everyone else stands. Quit blaming the supervisors. The watch should be letting the problem children know the rest are tired of their bullshit. The assholes would not have been let to run the watch back in the day. Some people aren't retired, living in another state. They fear retaliation and damage to their careers by the powers that be. So, enjoy your retirement (you and I know each other), but be realistic about the way our world works.
Maybe you can sign your name, while telling it like it really is, now that you're reasonably safe from the threat of 'payback'.
