- Police were warning some lakefront residents to be on alert, after someone shot out windows at a North Side high-rise at least three times in the past 10 days.
CBS 2 [...] reports someone has been shooting some type of projectile at windows at the Harbor Point condo tower at 155 N. Harbor Dr. – twice late at night, and once just before dawn. At least five windows have been shattered.
The latest incident was Monday night, around 11:30 p.m. Windows also were shot out Sunday night and just before dawn on April 20.
Detectives would not say if a gun was used, or if it was some other type of projectile such as a slingshot.
Just in case you were keeping track at home, it was a gun. We got word from someone outside the Department who has been staying on top of this one in light of the media embargo on all types of downtown mayhem, and they confirmed that someone shot at the building on three occasions.

If it happened in the 312, there was a media blackout naturally.
There is no media embargo on downtown crime. It is just that there is very little crime to report in regard to downtown.
That's crazy for that area. No surveillance footage from the area buildings, nothing? Damn.
Downtown is not safe. As a resident I can tell you this first hand. I come out of my condo and Rif Raff are all over the place hootin and hollerin, making noise, bumping into people, etc. The police have their already destroyed neighborhoods on lock down, so they go where the police are not.
Garry McCarthy does not seem to understand this concept. Hes too busy kissing up to Jesse Jackson and aldercreatures putting more police resources in the ghetto. Im sick of it!!

I use to work Beat 18-21 many years ago which included the south half of Cabrini Green and went all the way to the river.
Every so often we use to get a call about a stray shot going through an apartment window in the projects. And a few times there were bullets going through the windows ending up lying on the desk of a very frightened secretary at the Montgomery Wards Headquarters on Chicago Avenue.
No blood, no tips, no clues either in the human warehouse or at the engine of commerce but I don't think all the incidents were ever reported.
Just writing about the broken windows here, other times in Cabrini there was a lot of blood.
At least they aren't shooting at my pretty loft.

I don't bother reading anything else related to Chicago crime info since it's all a bunch of lies. Shooting at our windows now? Why exactly? What kind of twisted fuck shoots out windows? I have to say this was the final straw of me going back to Chicago and staying in the condo downtown. I am DONE. If you can't even feel safe laying in your bed at night without some sick fucks shooting out your windows, then it's time to get the eff out of that hellhole. What I love are ALL the people who say "Oh, it's such a beautiful city." I feel like telling them "who gives a shit how pretty it is (it isn't actually) if every other black "urban youth" you see is packing heat and dying to use it on you. the other day we responded to "criminal damage in progress" off of fullerton and commonwealth. apparently, somebody had shot out several windows with a bee bee gun or something along those lines..

Some of those people in those LSD high-rises need to cell phone video the damage and get it to the TV news stations. If someone gets hurt, even cleaning up the glass remember the slogan, "If it bleeds it leads!".
If the residents call and complain to the media and give them some video they may get some action out of McNumbnuts.
