NYPD Funeral

  • Hundreds of officers outside the church where a funeral was held for a policeman killed along with his partner in an ambush shooting turned their backs on the mayor as he spoke during Saturday’s service.

The reaction from officers watching Officer Rafael Ramos’ funeral on giant TV screens followed comments from police union officials who had said Mayor Bill de Blasio contributed to a climate of mistrust that contributed to the killings of the two officers.
We imagine if the media wasn't just counting coppers, the total was thousands.

RIP Officer/Detective First Grade/Chaplain Ramos.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — Police in Massachusetts have arrested a woman who they say smeared uncooked bacon and sausage all over a police station dispatch window offering to “feed the pigs.”

Framingham Police Lieutenant Harry Wareham tells Boston.com (http://bit.ly/1H7kUSq ) that Lindsey McNamara entered the station Friday morning with a Dunkin’ Donuts box full of raw bacon and sausage. He says she approached an officer with a “great smile on her face” and said she was there to “feed the pigs.” He says she then took the meat from the box and smeared it on the window. She was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property.

I lived in New York City during the worst years 1985-92 near criminal anarchy, racial atrocities with Sharpton involved in all of it.

Sharpton successfully sprung the extremely guilty Central Park gang rapists, incited Black mobs to nearly lynch innocent prosecutors false accused in the Tawana Brawley rape hoax, which set the stage for some many fake racial hate crimes that followed:

Duke Lacrosse Team rape hoax
Trayvon Martin hoax
Ferguson MO
Staton island not a choke hold "I can't breathe " hoax.

The New York Post is generally solid on New York City crime stories, NYC racial realities, but caveat emptor (buyer beware) - the New York Post pushes terrible Neo Conservative wars against secular Arab regimes (Saddam, now Syria) and supports the worst open borders immigration policies to the USA.

Understand, we live in difficult times:

De Blasio shows his "respect" (forget for the moment he wasn't wanted to begin with) by arriving two hours after the service stated, arriving just before the conclusion of the service.

I bet he did that so there wouldn't be the image of thousands of men in blue standing with their backs to him throughout the whole service. And, I'm sure they would have.

What an epic douche bag the NYC mayor is. If he was going to attend, he should have given Officer Ramos the respect of arriving on time.

From a tactical standpoint and by general order if you had to make a forced entry , you had a barricaded subject, SWAT should have been called. If the original call was someone pointing a gun out the window, you have a aggravated assault- which is a misdemeanor. Is it worth getting killed, sued or suspended for a misdemeanor? Yes, pointing a gun at someone is a misdemeanor. Supervisors should never discipline your work force in public, it's just unacceptable edict in any profession.

It's white shirt vs. blue shirt in Chicago. In Chicago it's clout vs. no clout. In Chicago a LAPA clouted gets promoted after death to commander after was already a inspector or XO. We forget already. "Shakey" memory. All finger pointing intended. In Chicago Christmas eve dinners that were brought in by PO's are packed up and locked in secure refrigerators in order to be used on Christmas day for the benefit of white shirt accolades.

Is this the same guy that complains that Captains are drawing from the pension fund at a higher rate then they put into it? I know this is an unpopular opinion and please don't get my opinion of this confused with my love for the job and deep sorrow at losing any fellow officer but why should an officer get a posthumous promotion because he/she got killed. Are we not trained to NOT get killed. Coppers shot are heroes where coppers that shoot first are murderers and worse usually do not get even a dept commendation because of the coward bosses don't want to put their name on anything that may end up in a lawsuit.
I can say this because I have been in that exact situation. I did not get shot but I did kill the offender. Had I let him get off the shot and hit me would I be a hero? Should I get a promotion? Is Capt EK from 007 a hero? He will be getting a promotion for putting himself in harms way. He had no business on the scene or out front where he got shot. Never mind all of his past exploits should he be promoted?
And back to my first point, should he draw from the pension plan at Commanders rate? What about the Captain that just passed away? They backdated his promotion to Commander to the day before he passed away. Should his wife draw a widows pension at Commanders pay or Captains pay?
It's a nice gesture to make these posthumous promotions if they were symbolic gestures only and did not carry with them the financial obligation that's thrust upon an already fragile pension system.

Amen to > RIP Officer/Detective First Grade/Chaplain Ramos.

Question: Did the posthumous promotion to "Detective First Grade" is a nice gesture. Does it carry with it the upgrade of family pension benefits such a promotion would carry and does the City of New York pay for it versus their pension fund?

A thought: Our brother and sisters in the NYPD do not have a Residency Rule and many live in the collar counties outside NYC even if that is in another state. Therefore they do not vote in the city and the rest show as much interest as Chicago cops do in voting. That is why De Blasio could trash talk them, their voting means nothing.

If anyone really wants to get rid of the residency rule get together with the other unions and become a real voting block. But Rahm would rather keep us divided and take our money.

Pension payout won't change and it's a nod of respect to someone whose life was taken in service to the community.

To the Communists who want to fire the NYPD for turning their backs on their Communist mayor....

1. The Mayor of NYC can be replaced with any flake instantly.

2. A single PO takes 2 years to replace, with application, testing, psychological, and training. Then it takes another 3 years to embed into the community they serve.

3. It is far easier to replace an INCOMPETENT mayor who lacks leadership, than a single....leave alone 40,000 man police department.

4. Civil service was created because of the absolute recognition that elected officials come-and-go, but certain City Services require experience that patronage must exclude.

All week the TV news commentators have been asking: "What can NY Mayor Bill DiBlasio do to repair his shattered relationship with the NYPD?"
My answer: Hang a blue wreath around his neck and jump off the Empire State Building on May 15th,singing "The Streets of New York"

12/28/2014 04:41:00 AM

You mean Mayor Warren Wilhelm, Jr.? The man has had three names. He is disrespecting his Marine father by taking his mother's maiden name. Dad saw heavy action in WWII including Okinawa. Dad wasn't right after the war, sinking into alcoholism, eventually taking his own life after contracting lung cancer.

Stand up son Wilhelm pays respect to dad by dropping his name, first and last, Dad was senior, deblasio was junior. The guy couldn't come to grips with his father so he drops the man's name. Now there is a real piece of shit.

He met wife while both were working for NY Mayor Dinkins. There is a clue into his politics.

And we have Rahm. Ughhh.

The NYPD has posthumously promoted both the murdered officers to Detective. The CPD wouldn't even take the first "P" off Danny Doffyn's title. Anywhere you look he is still listed as PPO. Do you think his probation is up yet fuckfaces?

From a tactical standpoint and by general order if you had to make a forced entry , you had a barricaded subject, SWAT should have been called. If the original call was someone pointing a gun out the window, you have a aggravated assault- which is a misdemeanor. Is it worth getting killed, sued or suspended for a misdemeanor? Yes, pointing a gun at someone is a misdemeanor. Supervisors should never discipline your work force in public, it's just unacceptable edict in any profession.

Okay get a life....boss (probably TQ)

Dont talk to about tactical standpoint from your desk, you goof.

You're a joke and if that's what you think, you're wrong. If they pointed a gun at police that would make it aggravated, which is a felony. You should know that. Don't try to act like "you're looking out for the guys". The "guys" know more than you, and are the police. Go back to sitting in your office and trying to make the next merit spot.

It would also be exigency circumstances, especially in light of what's going on.

Absolutely pathetic.

What is with the goof ball merit hack sgt TQ in charge of foot patrol? This guy has no freaking idea what the hell is going on, or how to be the police.

Went to a call the other day where shitbird is pointing a gun out of the window at police. Police make entry, find the shithead and the gun. Gun ended up being a replica. Sgt good comes in and threatens all officers on scene with cr#s saying is was a rights violation, and police had no right to make entry. This guy is a freaking hack. Get him and his entitled attitude off the street. For the ake of the ppos get this shit bag away from them. He's going to get someone hurt, or worse.

******

No, it's not the same guy. I tried to read your ode to yourself, but lost interest. It's just not that big of a deal to remove the probationary status of an officer murdered on this job. It doesn't cost anything. A PPO killed in the line of duty is not a contractual issue. The same financial benefits apply to them as the they would to the rest of us. It does convey gratitude and respect. But let's say if it did cost something, I think you should be more concerned about the gold braid pensions they pass out as political favors. Statistically we lose one PPO in the line of duty every five years. Whose benefits are you more annoyed by? Thomas Wortham's or Barb West's?

It's white shirt vs. blue shirt in Chicago. In Chicago it's clout vs. no clout. In Chicago a LAPA clouted gets promoted after death to commander after was already a inspector or XO. We forget already. "Shakey" memory. All finger pointing intended. In Chicago Christmas eve dinners that were brought in by PO's are packed up and locked in secure refrigerators in order to be used on Christmas day for the benefit of white shirt accolades.

Or all you calling them inept? After all you said we are trained not to be killed. Should Liu and Ramos had eyes in back of their head?

Lastly, it was no more inappropriate for the officers outside to turn their back then it was for deblasio to show up late and give a speech. They didn't turn their back on the other communists that gave speeches, just the main villain.

But yet the thugs and race baiters continue the protest charades! Lets hope people take up signs and support the police,we have many good people who dont like thug life, but then again they have to go to work so have limited time unlike the scumbags protesting!

My understanding is that the pension does increase though I don't know or really care where it comes from.

I read this too. What a true stooge and asshole to say that about the officers turning their backs. God forbid he shows any fustration with the Mayor. Oh sure, it's easy for him to talk about the president and Holder because he doesn't work for them, but he still stands behind "his mayor." Bratton knows exactly who Delbasio is and what he did, but he remains silent. Bratton already had a great carrer and is not short on $$$. But he would rather support the mayor than the troops.
