Mel does not represent the people of the 33 ward since she was not elected, but appointed by Rahm. Her ward was 5% black in 2010. She cast the only no vote (117-1) to impeach her brother-in-law Rod Blagojevich. She used to work for Christy Weber who has all the city & park district contracts. Go to Ill. Board of Elections website and see who Weber drops to. It's a lot.

Execution Date Set For Georgia Death Row Inmate
Corrections officials in Georgia say a man convicted of killing a sheriff's deputy is set for execution later this month.
The Department of Corrections said in a news release Friday that Commissioner Brian Owens has scheduled the execution of Andrew Howard Brannan for January 13 at 7 p.m.
Brannan was sentence to die for the January 12, 1998, slaying of 22-year-old Laurens County sheriff's deputy Kyle Dinkheller.
Authorities have said Dinkheller stopped Brannan for driving 98 mph and demanded he take his hands from his pockets. Brannan then began cursing, dancing in the street and saying "shoot me" before he rushed the deputy. Police found Brannan the next day hiding in a sleeping bag beneath a camouflage tarp.
A jury in 2000 found Brannan guilty in Dinkheller's killing.

Am I the only one that recognizes the other lady (with gray hat/black spots) as CPD?? Those that worked in 024 in the mid-late 90s will recognize her as the wannabe officer known for getting CRs on a handful of real officers on behalf of the black constituency of the district. Even went so far as to give sworn statements to IAD and OPS (pre-IPRA for you youngsters) vs. coworkers when black complainants got numbers and/or filed suit vs. white officers.
The enemy is within our very ranks.
I live in a rural county with two small towns. Our local/county politicians are much more common sense and honest. If they aren't we soon get rid of them, and we try never to elect ones like in the photo.

My feeling is that these Libs will back down and sort of apologize when confronted by regular citizens and CPD.

Candidates deadline has past. Right on top of things there. The FOP will find a candidate in another year or two. Right after I get my FOP book for 2015 plus all the revised correction pages.
When and how does the "silent majority" show its head? Nationally I could see a movement to end all of this nonsense, but in Illinois? Good luck Bruce. I hope you can get something done. We live on the Northside and every week some a hole breaks into a garage on our block and/or steals a package. 5 houses on our block have been broken into. One person had there head bashed in. And this is a nice block. We have wilding in the gold coast and Mi Ave, and cars ramming into stores like out of an action film. All of this is what I care about, and we need only main solution, lots of police resources.

Can we get Schulter back? He was mostly Daley's guy but he looks good now. His Ward Supe always helped police get something done. If we needed a sweep of an accident scene, a garbage truck to do a pickup, about anything, he got it done.
Pawar just washes Rahm's balls. Pawar is now claiming to be the one who got millions of TIF funds that funded improvements in 47. Bullshit, Schulter did it. Some of the money came and was spent after Schulter left but it was Schulter, not Pawar that got it done.

I'm not PO but I want to say, I think the protesting and picketing has now moved into the realm of absurd. Especially when aldermen are doing it. I've seen too many people walking around with the shirt "I can't Breath".
I would be happy to wear a shirt and/or hold a picket sign that says, "Don't Resist Arrest" or "Just Stop Being a Criminal". I've thought of some others...

"Raschio joined the Navy at the age of 27 and participated in five campaigns in the Pacific theater, flying observational planes based off the USS Chester. It just happens to be the flavor of the day with the liberal democratic public. Do you think they really care about this? It is a photo opp, and pandering at the lowest level. These people think that this equates to the civil rights marches back in the 60's and they will be damned if they miss an opportunity like this. As I see it, by their participation in this they advocate resisting and attacking the police.

I live in Pawar's ward. I called his office. The first thing I wanted to do was make sure it was a real photo, and not photo shopped. (trust but verify). I was directed to the Chief of staff " Jim" who related the photo was real and it happened about a month ago. I expressed my extreme disappoinment that one of our city's "leaders" would show any support for a cause that calls for the murder of Police Officers. I suggested that the Alderman should apologize for this. "Jim" related he would pass it along to the Alderman.
I am going to follow up with an e mail so I have it writing one way or another. I am not sure what the next step is, but I can not let this go without doing something.
I was pretty angry when I called,but I remained polite. I was glad I did. The woman who answered the phone sounded like a grandmother and she mad a point to tell me before she transferred me to "Jim" that she had a blue ribbon around the tree in front of her house to show support for the police.
